《Poetry for the heartless and heartbroken》Poem 94

For A, whom left a wound that is unable to heal.

The soldier

Died in vain

Lived in war

Died in pain

Wielded no gun

He wielded no hate

But soldier where have you gone now?

Are you not home yet?

Where are the letters you said you were going to send?

Is it nice or is it hell?

There's no paradise for those who stay.

Does it hurt?

Does the guilt flame your head?

Come home, I'll take it away.

Soldier, soldier

Leave that place

You'll be home soon

The moon'll take you that way

Soldier, my soldier

You never came

Not in letters

Not in the flesh.
