《A New Life to Live (PJO FF)》A Fresh Start?

The Iris message ended and the gods were taken aback. Poseidon, Athena, Aphrodite, and Zeus were furious with their children for what they did. Ares was just shocked. The other gods had looks of shock as well at the rumors.
The gods knew what happened down in Tartarus with the misery goddess and how Percy had almost killed her. They told the seven to keep it quiet so the campers wouldn't freak out so long as Percy doesn't do it to anyone else.
The gods began arguing about the demigods and how they should be punished for believing what the Athena spawn told everyone.
Percy was looking down and remembering everything that happened. The Iris message didn't show the worst parts. It didn't even show the parts where Percy's eyes flickered to a black color instead of their normal sea-green. Percy was kind of thankful for that or else the gods would have definitely killed him.
Finally, Zeus looked at Percy. "SILENCE!"
The room went quiet and everyone looked at the King. "Percy, what would you like to do with the campers?"
Percy snapped his head up to look at the God of the Sky. He didn't know what to do with the campers. He just wanted them to feel how he felt.
"Can you tell them the truth? What actually happened? I doubt they even know what they're talking about."
"Of course. Will you be coming with us?"
Percy thought about it. "No. I think I'm just going to do what I was doing before Lady Artemis picked me up." He went to turn around but stopped. "And can you tell Nico I'm sorry and that I may not go back to camp. I'll keep in touch with you guys and you can tell Nico how I am. I don't think I can look at him without feeling guilty for leaving."
"We will. Be safe, Perseus."
With that, Percy walked out the throne room and down the elevator of the Empire State Building. He turned down an alley and continued on his way to nowhere in particular.
———-
It's been about a month since Percy left that throne room on Olympus. A month and a week since he left Camp Half-Blood. About two and a half months since the end of the Giant War and when the rumors started. And Percy was bored.
He continued to poke the fire with the stick. In his left hand he had a small flame dancing across his palm. Percy has discovered some new powers while he's been away but he has no clue where they came from.
The gods visit around three times a week to make sure he isn't dead and because Nico would keep pestering them on how Percy was doing.
A void-type portal suddenly opened up right behind the fire Percy had set up. He jumped up and backed up from the void. He put his hand in his pocket and grabbed Riptide and got ready to take off the cap if he needed.

After a few seconds a man wearing all black with swirling dots walked out the void portal. He had dark black hair with dark purple, almost black, on the tips. His eyes may be the most mesmerizing eyes Percy has ever seen. They were black with different shades of blue and red dots swirling around and bright white surrounding the colors.
"Hello, Perseus."
Percy stepped back again. He felt the power radiating off of the mysterious man that he felt like an ant compared to him.
"How do you know my name?"
The man created a chair out of nowhere and sat down slouching down a little bit. "Oh, well, because I'm Chaos." He said with a bright smile.
Percy was shocked and confused and didn't understand why Chaos had come up to him. He put Riptide away knowing if Chaos was going to kill him there was no way he could do anything. Chaos could just snap his finger and Percy would be sent to the Underworld.
Percy stood there with his mouth slightly open and just stared. Well, until Chaos just started laughing. This just made Percy more confused.
"You should've seen your face!" He laughs even more. Percy just rolls his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. I got a funny face."
Once Chaos stops laughing his expression changes to a more serious one that makes Percy straighten up.
"Alright, now to get down to business. I want you, Perseus, to be a commander in my army. You can bring anyone to be section leaders but they have to be dead already."
Percy's eyes widened. He didn't know what to say. He really wanted to leave earth and this life and do something different. He didn't want to stay in a place where he knows he would never be welcome. In a place that he can longer call his home. He even knew who he would bring back from the dead. So Percy chose the most reasonable option. He said yes.
Chaos' eyes brightened, if that's even possible, and gestured to Percy to step into the void portal. "Don't worry it won't hurt. But you may feel a tiny bit sick."
Percy looked at Chaos then back to the portal. He slowly walked towards the void, the wind coming out of it making his hair blow over his face. One he got to the portal he stopped and looked back at Chaos. The creator of the universe just nodded and Percy stepped into the void portal.
He felt himself go thousands of miles in just a few seconds and closed his eyes tightly. When he felt himself land on solid ground he felt sick to his stomach. His hand went up to his mouth to keep him from vomiting up what he had eaten before Chaos found him. Chaos stepped out right next to him.

"This is hardly a tiny bit sick!" Percy exclaimed once he saw the man.
Chaos just merely shrugged and Percy looked in front of him only to see the most amazing city he's ever seen. The buildings are all different types of colors and the trees seem to just glow with life. The people in the city were all different types of species and the animals looked happy running around the glowing trees. In the middle of the city was a huge building. It was a dark shade of blue with dots swirling around that Percy seemed to realize were actually small stars. The sky was a bright blue-green with two moons floating around each other.
Percy was in awe at the whole place and didn't know what to do next. He just looked around taking in the beauty of the city.
"Welcome to the planet, Origo. This is where you'll be staying. Of course you'll be going all around the universe to fight wars or to take out tyrants."
"This place is amazing. Like 3 billion times better than earth."
Chaos smiled and motioned for Percy to follow him. "We are going to go get your powers and name you as commander of the army."
Percy looked down and contemplated telling Chaos about the powers he's been getting ever since he left camp. Chaos seemed to understand about what was going on and stopped. "What is it?"
Percy looked up at him and quickly looked back down. "Well, uh, it's just when I left camp I started getting weird powers that isn't from my father's domain like this." Percy took his left hand out of his pocket, palm facing the sky, and a flame sparked to life.
Chaos' eyes widened. "What else did you get?"
"Well I can summon lightening, I can change clothes, which was kind of good because I needed some new ones. I can also move the dirt and some other cool things." Percy looked back at Chaos who was deep in thought. His eyes flickered to Percy's before turning around.
"Well, Percy I have some theories as to why this may be happening but I'd rather not say in case I'm wrong."
Percy could see the distant look in his eyes and decided to not ask. He looked forward and found they were at the building in the center of the city. The doors opened and Chaos led him inside to a room filled with people.
"These people are all part of the army that you will be leading."
Percy took in a breath and looked at all the people standing in rows. They seem to be separated into six different sections.
Chaos walked through the doors and the room immediately went silent. He turned and waved his hand, silently telling me to follow. I walked up next to Chaos and he spoke in a loud voice so everyone in the room can hear.
"I have found someone worthy to be your commander of the army!"
The room erupted in cheers so loud Percy was sure the citizens outside could hear them. They all seemed so happy that Percy even let out a small, barely noticeable smile.
"Perseus Jackson, please step forward."
Percy looked towards Chaos, then to the army and stepped forward.
"Okay, now this may hurt a tiny bit but you'll be fine."
"Oh, like how I would only feel a little sick? But alright." Chaos chuckled and raised his hand to Percy, a beam of light shooting right into his chest.
Okay, so Chaos was definitely lying when he said it would only hurt Percy a little bit. He felt as if he was burning and he had to suppress a scream that he almost let go. He dropped to his knees and his back felt as if all the bones were popping and cracking. When the pain finally subsided, he looked up to see a shocked Chaos looking behind him.
Curious as to what he was looking at, Percy turned around to see huge black, feathery wings coming from his back. Just by looking at them Percy could tell that wings were really soft and it had stars swirling all throughout them.
"Dude look at his eyes!" Percy heard someone yell from the crowd and was confused. What happened to my eyes? He thought looking back to Chaos. The creator summoned a mirror and gave it to Percy. What he saw shocked him. Instead of his regular sea-green eyes they were black with white and sea-green dots swirling around them. Now he was really confused. His eyes had turned this color before at camp. Now they were there permanently.
But that wasn't the only change. Percy was also a lot paler and his dark hair seemed to have gotten even darker. It looked almost as if all the darkness were being sucked into it.
"Zeno?" Percy barely caught it, but when Chaos whispered that word his head shot up and felt as though something awakened in him. He could see two people in front him, a man and a woman. They were all laughing and having a good time. Then there was fire everywhere. The man was crying next to the body of the woman.
After the vision ended Percy could feel tears in his eyes. He looked back at Chaos.
"Dad?"
Chaos ran and gave him a hug that Percy gladly gave back. The crowd was cheering again but Percy could only focus on one thing. He was home.

A man of cripplingly ill mind, bridled with the spirits and regrets of the past. Wade Pierce trudges through each day of his monochrome existence, only as penance for his sins. Such a man is abruptly decamped of this world courtesy of unapologetic forces, left stranded in a realm filled with unknowns. Armed only with his potent yet fragile intellect, Wade advances into this new abyss, as he attempts to rewrite the wrongs he has committed. Plagued by vile beasts, self-righteous Gods, and even his own seething darkness, the cracks in his mind begin to spread and a dangerous, newfound power bubbles beneath the surface. As the world grows darker day by day, this unfortunate journey begins ------------ I suppose rectitude dictates that I should state any themes worthy of noting here. First of all, this story is not a sunshiny one in the slightest. Since it is listed under the psychological and mature tag and not the comedy tag, that shouldn't be a surprise. Next, morbidity is a factor and general apathy towards human life. All of these are common themes amongst other writers, so nothing new there. The story also contains consensual, and non-consensual sexual activity, although I have tried to be as tasteful as is possible for someone like myself. Finally, the pace is drawn-out, and the language is magniloquent at times. Not to mention, the chapters are quite lengthy. Don't expect to read this halfheartedly... Other than that, enjoy the story... There's nothing more important than that...

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
