Recap:

"Click the 'u' key to undeafen from the call, i'll join it soon"

"Ok captain" I joke, and with a laugh Clay closes the door and walks towards his recording room.

Time to do this.

As I sit behind Clay's laptop, I look down at the keyboard to see the shiny "u" key, and I stare at it for a few seconds, deliberating if I really want to fo this.

I may or may not be reconsidering things. Nick said there will be 9 other people on the game, and I only know Karl, George, Nick, and well, Clay.

However, if I don't do this, if I don't join, I'll just look dumb and probably let Clay down, and for some reason I really don't want to do that.

So, for once in my life, I say fuck it, I won't overthink this, it's just a stupid game it's really not that deep nor frightening.

So I do it. I press the key. My ears are immediately filled with a loud British man, or child, screaming.

"Tubbo, I will stick with you the entire time, so if I die, it's you" this British child screams into his mic

"No Tommy, you did that the last time we played and ruined it, stay away from me" The other boy, who I assume is Tubbo answers

I hear a notification on discord and see that Clay had sent me a code so I could actually get into the game.

I get on the main screen and choose a name for myself. I am really not that creative, so I decide to just stick with Char as my name, for now. Once that was over with, I go to add the code so I join the party.

"Wait who's Char, did someone leak the code?" the british child asks

"Uh, no, I'm friends with Dream" I almost said Clay there, saying Dream is so foreign to me "And well, with Karl too he told me I could be on the stream"

"A woman?" Tommy says. What?

"Hey what about me and Sapnap" George says annoyed

"She obviously didn't mention me as her friend, because I'm her lover" Nick says

"Sapnap, I really don't want to be rude but that was lowkey cringey bestie" I joke, and everyone on the call starts laughing.

There were maybe six other people on the call, but someone's laugh really stood out to me, and as I focused on it a bit more I realized it was Clay.

"So, are we ready to begin?" Karl happily says after unmuting

"I think Corpse and Niki are missing, let me text them" another girl in the call says

Then I hear the sound I now learned discord makes when someone joins the call, and a very soft-spoken girl speaks up.

"Hi guys sorry I'm late, I thought my cat had run away but she was just hiding" a german girl said

"More women joining the call? This might just be my luck day" Tommy says "Wait, I know Niki is European, what about you, other woman" he then adds

"I'm from Florida, and it's Charlotte" I answer

"Well, it's not so lucky then, she's american" he says almost as if he was let down

"Hey what's wrong with me being american" I say with a slight tone of hurt on my voice

"Don't even ask him, you don't want to get into that debate" Clay interrupts whatever Tommy was about to say

"Why so rude big D" Tommy jokes

"See" he is now talking to me "Don't engage with the child"

"What do you mean by child you-" Tommy starts but is suddenly interrupted by another person who now joined the call.

This guy, has a very deep voice, which contrasts a lot with Niki's.

"I had stuff to deal with, sorry i'm late, are you guys ready?" the new guy says

Woah

He has a gorgeous voice, that's super intimidating

"Not Charlotte simping for Corpse too" Sapnap says

Wait did I just say that? I need to pay more attention to what I say, crap

"Don't worry Sap, you are still my number one" I say with a high pitched voice

"Literally never do that again, or else" Nick says

"I know someone who's not gonna like that" George then adds

"What do you mean by that George" I curiously ask, but before he could amswer, Clay speaks up

"Right, uhh, Karl? Do you plan on starting the game any time soon?"

"Yes, sorry chat I had some problems with my mic but I believe everything is fixed now, I think we van start now" Karl says, quickly starting the game.

For the first round I thankfully got crewmate, I know that if I got impostor I would be very nervous because of this constant urge to succeed.

I make my way through the map completing tasks and at one point see Niki's character dead on the floor, I walk on top of it and report it.

"I was about to finish my download task" George complains

"Nooo, Niki" Tubbo says

"I found her in electrical" I add once everyone gets quiet

"Nothing else to add?" Clay says in an accusatory tone

"No?" I unsurely say

"I saw you walk away from the body and then when you saw me you self-reported it" he confidently says

"That totally never happened" I answer

"Dream sounds very convinced, Charlotte" Corpse says

"No but Clay is trying to pin it on me I swear, he must be the impostor" I desperately say

"Clay? Are we going by first name bases now?" Tommy screams "In that case, I believe Clay"

"Don't ever call me Clay again, uhh, Tomathy" Clay says and everyone starts laughing

"What the fuck" Tommy responds

"Uhh guys the time is running out, are we all voting Charlotte?" Karl interrupts, and his statement is followed by everyone else in the call agreeing.

"Fine, vote me off, but I'm not finishing my tasks as a ghost so good luck" I say and sit back on the chair.

When I see my character floating off in space I get up and make my way to Clay's studio. I burst open the door and he turns to look at me wide-eyed.

As I get closer to him I realize he's doing... tasks?

"Why did you pin it on me you aren't even the impostor" I say pointing at his monitor

"Because it was funny seeing you mad, I never saw you and Corpse just ran with it" Clay defends himself "Plus, it's just a game, right?"

"I hate you so much" I say clearly joking

"You clearly love me, you just haven't realized it yet" he cockily says

"Is that so?" I say

"Yes, you are very clearly simping for me" he responds still playing the game.

I don't answer and just go back to the room I was in. The impostors won and we played for a few more rounds.

This was the last one we were playing and up until this point I didn't get impostor yet, which made me kind of mad about but whatever.

As I sit back and expect another 'crewmate' message on my screen, my face lights up red and a big 'impostor' sign is shown. My partner was Niki.

For the first round we successfully make a double kill, killing off Rae and Sapnap. Then, for the second one we make another double kill, killing Corpse and George, which is also succesfull. However, for the next one we weren't very successful.

Niki got caught killing Tubbo, and was rapidly ejected. Now only Tommy, Dream, Karl and I remained alive, and I had a plan.

I looked for Karl, offed him and then self-reported. I was going to get revenge.

"Dream, I thought you were smarter than this" I taunt him

"It's Charlotte, Tommy" Dream says not leaving room for hesitation on Tommy's mind

"I literally saw you slice him in half what are you talking about" I play dumb

"I don't know what to believe" Tommy says very confused

"She's trying to get revenge from earlier please it's clearly her" Dream pleads

"He has a point" Tommy says directed to me

"Well, all men do is lie, are you going to believe a man over a woman Tommy?" I very seriously say "That's kind of misogynistic of you" I joke

"Hey I love women" he answers

"Then prove it" I almost whisper on my mic.

And Tommy does as I said, he votes Clay off and a big 'victory' is displayed on my screen

"FUCK YES" I scream and Niki is also celebrating on the background

"That was awesome" Sapnap congratulates me.

"That's what you get for messing with me on the first round Cl- Dream" I say and he just laughs

"Charlotte what's your instagram I want to follow you" Niki says, and it's followed by everyone else on the call agreeing with her

"Uhh, could I maybe give it to you guys later off stream?" I say

My instagram is something very private to me, I don't like the exposure.

"Yeah sure, send it via discord later" Niki adds

"Well chat, thank you so much for all the support, I'm gonna end the stream" Karl says "I'm gonna raid Poki so be sure to hop on hers now, bye everyone!" Karl finishes and ends his stream.

"Thank you guys for streaming with me, I really appreciate it" Karl speaks up once more

"Anytime bro" Sapnap answers

Shortly after that, everyone leaves the call and I walk over to Clay's studio again.

"So, did you enjoy it?" he asks and I nod

"They are very nice people, I like them"

"See, I told you you'd have a nice time" Clay proudly says.

"It's getting kinda late, I need to get ready for the uh-" I really don't wanna say it, I can see the way his expression drops when I mention him "The Adam thing" I whisper

"Right, Adam" Clay says looking down

"Let me drive you home"

The car ride was silent, but very pleasant, we just listened to some music and vibed all the way to my house.

When we finally arrived I got out, but before I closed the door I said "Thank you for today, for everything, from fighting for our friendship to making me really meet your friends"

Clay just looks at me with a big smile on his face, and I close the door.

He lowers the window and before driving away says "Thank you for giving me a second chance"
