《Control (Book 1 of Control Series)》Chapter 68

I left the house as soon as Dylan started washing Rosaline. I didn't need her to ask where I was going. I didn't want to lie to her. So instead I asked Dylan to do it instead by telling her I went to work. Unlike the rest of us Dylan can lie to her with ease just like he can lie to everyone else with ease. I don't find it in me to think that him being able to lie to Rosaline with ease is wrong because, that would be saying lying in general is wrong. Yes, lying isn't always right but, lying is the way we grew up, lying is how we got out bad situations without a bullet in our heads.

I left Rosaline, Dylan and Jared because, I caught wind of someone finding out about out about our past. If our past came out to the public it would break down everything we've worked so hard to build up and I won't ever let that happen. Even if I have to kill someone and I can't say I'm disgusted by the idea of killing anyone anymore. When you've been in gangs and have had strange men walking through your house because, your mother was a whore you get used to the idea of killing someone. Dylan also knows what's it's like since he too has been in a gang with me and even helped me kill a guy who became to handsy with me instead of my mom. Jared doesn't know what it's like and sometimes I'll even resent him for it but, at the same time I know that if he did live the life Dylan and I lived he would have been dead a long time ago.

You see Jared was that type of boy who lived in a nice neighborhood, with two loving parents and was an only child. He wouldn't even have met us if he didn't go to the same school as use which was pretty decent. At first Dylan and I tried to avoid him because, we were nothing like him. We lived in a crappy neighborhood, my father missing and my mother a whore opening her legs for anyone who had at least 10 dollars in their wallet. Dylan didn't even know his parents them having placed him on our doorstep. We didn't want to even touch him afraid that we'd taint him. Yet he kept trying to speak to us and kept going until we were halfway through middle school when we finally gave him the time of day. After that day the rest was history. We never told him about our life at home, never invited him over. In high school we got involved in a gang so we could keep a roof over our heads by helping them sell drugs. Dylan and I became more distant with Jared and I guess he was sick of it because, he followed us home and confronted us and because, we thought of him as important we spilled everything to him. We thought he would walk away but instead he smacked us across the face and gave us a lecture about how we should make something of ourselves so with his help and others we did. Sure me might have sleep around a little but, as long as we didn't murder anyone it was okay. Dylan and I's hands were blood free until we met Rosaline and I killed Scarlet.

Sighing I shake away the trip down memory lane, I pick up my ringing phone and hold it up to my ear.

"Hello."

"We lost Rosaline." Dylan's calm voice rang through the phone.

"What do you mean, you lost Rosaline?" I ask, running a hand through my hair.

"We left to go get the files on the men you told us to get when Jared went to check on her and she was gone."

I sigh.

"Did you check everywhere," I ask putting the phone on speaker and opening up my tracker up.

"Yes we looked everywhere, we not stupid," he growls and I roll my eyes and click on Rosaline's name to find her location.

"If you aren't stupid than why one of you watching her?"

"...."

"That's what I thought." With that I hang up and click on the red dot telling me her location.

Mystic Dr.

I sit down in my office chair and turn on my computer waiting for it to load before typing of the address. What surprises me is that, there isn't any homes, well any livable home, They all look either abandoned or burned down. I close my lap top and text Dylan the address.

When Rosaline had her first breakdown I knew she was going to try to harm herself and so I placed a chip in her that not only tells me when her heart rate changes out of ordinary but where her location is. I didn't tell Jared because, he would get mad and have a tantrum about how we don't have the right to take away her privacy but I told Dylan because, I knew he'd understand. Sighing I sit back in my leather chair and rest my feet on the desk the same time I fold my hands under my head. Now it's time to sit back, wait and see what happens next.
