《Control (Book 1 of Control Series)》Chapter 60

When I wake up I already know today's not going to be a good day. One of the reasons is because, Brian and the twins are coming. It's not that I don't like them it's just that Dylan, Jared and I planned to do.... things to her while we look for a house. Now that's in shambles. When we were in the car, my dread turned into fear and panic when I noticed Rose was having a panic attack. We tried to get her to talk to us, to calm us down. Then something happened. I wasn't anything that you could tell by looking at her body. It was something in her eyes. Something that Dylan and Jared didn't see. Although I do plan to tell them. They were filled with horror and pain when her breath started to pick up. When it was slowing down her look changed to something that I couldn't read but, for some reason made my stomach turn. The car stopped and she jumped out probably needing some fresh air. "Ros-I have silent cars and I can't sit still without having something to do." I commit that to memory and inwardly curse myself for not noticing the signs. She kept bothering us but, I thought that was because, she wanted attention and her knee kept bouncing which I thought was from excitement. I'm so stupid. The day gets even worse when I find out that Henry won't be able to show me around the house and now I'm stuck with this greasy bastard who won't stop 'sneaking' glances at my girl.

Pushing that aside I look at my girl and can tell that she likes it. Her eyes keep sparkling showing that she's very happy and when we got to the garden I was worried she would pass out. I really don't care what house I live in just a long as it's secluded which it is so it has my stamp of approval. It takes a least 2 hours to observe this house and I know that with Henry the maximum time would have been 1. The only things that makes me smile is when the kids see the mini playground in the backyard a few feet away from the pool. I let out a chuckle when Kyle almost falls and lets out a girl-ish shriek causing Rose and Riley and the rest of us to laugh. They play for about 15 minutes before, we leave for the next house.

I hate it. It's not the house itself I hate- although it's not my favorite. It's a bungalow/townhouse and is all white. It's small and wouldn't fit all of us. It also has a small drive way that would barely fit Jared's convertible. The fact that it's surrounded by other houses is the reason I hate the house though. I can also tell from a glance at Dylan and Jared's faces that they too don't like it and neither do the kids. I see out of the corner a old lady peak out from her blinds not even bothering to close them when we make eye contact. I sigh. I hate neighbors. They're nosy, social and will air out your laundry, just for a dime. The greasy bastard. Justin. Is it? He notices our distaste and instead of skipping the tour he 'quickly' skims over the house's characteristics. Although it doesn't stop him from trying to talk to my Rose who I can tell is feeling uncomfortable. I want to put my foot up his ass and make him eat his shit. Another glance at Dylan and Jared and they notice it too. By the ticking of Dylan's jaw and the clenching of Jared's fist they want to hurt him too. The twins also seem to notice and tries to keep them apart at a safe distance while distracting an obviously distressed Rose. It makes me warm to know they would protect her. We then quickly leave not even waiting to finish what the man has to say causing him to stutter and try to scramble in his car like a fat rat trying to fit into its hole.

When we reach the third house I'm irritated. I don't care which house we get I just want to sit down, eat and cuddle with my Rose. I don't have to look at Dylan and Jared to know that they too are irritated. We step out the car and I help Rose out the car who's carrying a sleeping Brian. The twins sluggishly follow behind and I know that if they could they would sleep standing up. We go the front of the house and haave to wait 5. Fucking. Minutes. Until his car pulls up and the ugly bastard stumbles out, paling when he sees us standing there. "I'm t-t-terribly sorry to be late there was traffic." I sneer. Funny how we got here first, even when we had to stop for an emergency bathroom break. He stumbles towards us and bows his head towards Jared, Dylan and I and walks towards the house but, not before giving my Rose a flirtatious smile.

That's it. "Rose why don't you, and the twins walk to the car." A tired Rose looks at me with confusion before, slowly nodding and doing what I ask the twins slowly trailing behind her. When they get in the car and the door closes I turn and clip the bastard in the jaw. He falls to the ground with a thump and a groan full of pain. "What the fuck," he spits and Jared sends a hard kick to his gut. Dylan squats down in front of him. "Well you, you ugly bastard do you know that, that girl you were flirting with is not only ours but she's not even 18," Dylan asks and the bastard has the nerve to smile. "The younger the better." Dylan sends a blow to his nose smiling when we hear the crack indicating that his nose is now broken. He groans and I hear a car door open. Time's up.

I look up to see a scowling Rose speed walking over. Instantly we stand in front of the groaning bastard and Dylan hisses "shut up or I'll break more than just his nose." The bastard stops groaning and I chuckle before, smiling down at Rose who is now a few inches away. "What are you doing out," I ask and she doesn't answer. Instead she quickly tries to run behind me which, I easily stop her by covering her eyes and scooping her up. "Put me down," she yells and Jared swats her on the butt causing her to yelp. "Who are you yelling at," I ask my voice hard. She flinches and stops squirming. "You were beating him up weren't you?" I bit my lip, not really wanting to tell her but Dylan must have a different opinion on the matter because he blurts "yup." I raise a brow questioning and he shrugs. "She already knows what we're doing, not going to lie about." I nod as if I agree and put her down but makes sure she faces the car. "If your about telling the truth why won't you let me see?" She turns around and I again cover her eyes. "Because, I'd rather not let you see and then look at us like we're the bad guys when we only did it to protect you." She huffs and reluctantly stomps her way back to the car. "She's so getting a spanking," Jared says and Dylan and I nod in agreement.
