《Control (Book 1 of Control Series)》Chapter 15

Rosaline didn't realize how much time passed, hanging out with Brendis, until the same woman that scolded her came and grabbed her wrist in a bruising hold and dragged her into the living room. She looked at the time on the tv box thingy and saw it was 1:45. The woman tosses her on the couch and glares at her. "Stay," she demands and stares at her for a few seconds. When, she's sure she won't go anywhere she stomps off. Rosaline stays on the couch shocked. Who what that and why did she bring me here? Is she going to kill her? Fear paralyzes her and heartbeat quickens. She's not going to kill you, you idiot. If she was she would've done so already. Yeah, that's right. Rosaline laughs at herself. She always finds herself jumping to conclusions.
"Rosaline." She jumps and spin around to see a relieved Dylan in the doorway looking hot in a suit. Hot? Where did that come from? Rosaline blushes. Dylan makes his way over to her and she leans her head down her hair moving to hide her face, more importantly her blush. Dylan stops in front of her and leans in so close, Rosaline can feel his breath on her face. He puts a fingers under her chin and lifts her head up, causing her hair to fall back, her blushing face revealed. "Don't hide you cute blush from me," he whispers. Her blush increases from him being so close and from him calling her blush cute. He laughs and Rosaline wants to buy her face between the couch cushions. Maybe, she'll find some change, that way she can take a bus far away from here, away from these lunatics.
"I'm sorry I wasn't with you today," Dylan breathes. "I had to take care of some last minute business." She shrugs and looks down at her feet. She didn't really mind, because she was playing with Brendis the whole time. Dylan sighs and sits on the couch, pulling Rosaline in his lap -careful of her cast- so she's straddling him. She blushes.

"The reason you're here is so we can get to know each other, before I give you to Sebastian." Rosaline nods and looks up blushing even more at the intense look he's giving her. "Is Sebastian your brother." Dylan nods, before stopping himself. "I'd say yes, because we grew up together and slept in the same room, but in reality we're cousins." Rosaline nods, another question forming. Before she can ask Dylan opens his mouth and says, "Let's play 20 questions." Rosaline laughs. "What's so funny," Dylan asks smiling. "It's just so cliché." Dylan shrugs. "How else am I supposed to get to know you?" Rosaline nods. Good point. "Can I start," Rosaline asks and giggles when Dylan eagerly nods. "Is Jared your brother." The look of horror on his face makes her burst into a fit of giggles. "No, no and no. We met in high school and have been friends ever since" Rosaline nods, and it's almost like she's a bobble head from all the nodding she's doing.
"What's your favorite color?" She smiles. So cliché. "Gold." He nods and begins to bounce his knees and blurts, "O, me too." Rosaline frowns and crosses her arms over her chest. "You ruined my next question," She whines. Dylan puts a hand over his mouth and blushes. Rosaline finds it...cute. "Sorry," he says, sheepish. She just shakes her head and tries to think of a question. "Okay...what's your favorite animal?" His nose twitches and he looks as if he's thinking. "Monachoides Vicinus Snail." Rosaline scrunches her nose up in disgust. "You like snails," she shrieks. "Yup," he nods and she fake gags. Dylan laughs.
"What's your favorite animal," Dylan asks. Rosaline's eyes light up and she gives a little claps, squealing excitedly. "A German Shepard puppy," Rosaline rushes. "O, I want to so bad I hope I can buy one when I'm 17."

"What is a German Shepard puppy, your favorite animal," Dylan asks. Rosaline smiles and rambles on about why a German Shepard puppy is her favorite animal. After giving almost 100 reasons Rosaline says, "the last reason is because, they're so cute." She drags out the o in so. The whole time she was explaining, Dylan was looking at her as if she's the most adorable thing in the world. Rosaline tries to ignore how the look makes her swoon.
After her explanation they continued to ask each other questions until some man came in with a chef's uniform and an abnormally large chef hat. "The food is ready," the man says in an obviously fake French accent, and dramatically bows. Rosaline giggles. "Thanks Ryan," Dylan says, his tone dismissive. That causes her to frown. Dylan lifts them both up and sets her on his lip. "Why did you dismiss him like that," She asks. Dylan just shrugs smiling, his eyes sparkling.
They make their way to a dining room, where Dylan head towards a long table setting Rosaline down right of the head of the table. Once she's settled Dylan sits down at the head of the table. Rosaline looks down at her plate and instantly her mouth waters. Seafood pasta, her favorite. She's just about to dig in when she notices Dylan has yet to take a bite. She inwardly sighs and sets her plate down. She then sits back and waits for Dylan to take a bite. He doesn't, instead looks at her confused. "Why aren't you eating," he asks. This time Rosaline sighs out loud and softly bangs her head again her chair. "I'm not supposed to eat until the person in charge of the house eat, only then am I allowed to eat." Dylan frowns. "Who told you that?"
"My parents," she responds. Dylan shakes his head and looks at her with an incredulous look on his face. "Whatever your parent told you don't apply in this house," he says. "If you're hungry let me know and I'll feed you. I don't care if you eat before me and I don't want you to hold yourself back. Dig in." Rosaline hesitates and Dylan reaches over, picks up her fork puts some pasta and a shrimp on it and hold it to her mouth. Surprised, she opens her mouth and he feeds her. When all the foods off the fork he sets it down on his plate and begins to eat from his plate. She stares at him in shock, before smiling and eating. She might be a teenager, but her mind is still somewhat of a child, scared of new things, scared of new people. Dylan though, might not be too bad.
