《Control (Book 1 of Control Series)》Chapter 7

He never planned on Rosaline meeting Dylan and Sebastian, at least this early.

Jared's plans for the day were getting Rosaline a check-up for the cast on her leg and maybe if she behaved herself, he could take her out to a restaurant or the movies, or wherever her heart desired.

When Jared woke up it was a 5 a.m sharp and it took a miracle to get him out of bed. It's a wonder he struggles to get out of bed when he always wakes up at the same time.

Dragging himself to the bathroom he lazily brushes his teeth and jumps in the shower, efficiently waking himself up completely.

What meant to be a 15 minutes shower turned into a 30 minutes shower for Jared couldn't get enough of the hot water raining down his skin, softening his muscles.

It isn't until the water turns cold that he jumps out and dries himself off, lathering himself in scented lotion and putting on the rest of his hygiene products before slipping into a pair of fitted jeans and fitted t-shirt.

By the time he's done with his morning routine it's only 6 o'clock. Deciding to mess with his hair a bit he goes into the bathroom to grab his brush when he remembers he no longer has his shoulder length curls. It's times like these where Jared regrets cutting his hair. He did it because he wanted to move on with his life and decided cutting his hair was the way to go. It wasn't. Sebastian seemed to think that it was nice and decided to grow his hair out while Dylan called them both pussies and said he's keeping his hair the same, because cutting their hair doesn't change a damn thing and he's right. It doesn't.

The song Milkshake began to play, and Jared walked over to his nightstand to saw Dylan calling. Speak of the devil.

Sighing, he answers. "Hello?"

"I want to see her now," Dylan snapped, loud enough that it made Jared cringe as the sound slammed into his ear drums.

"Dylan," Jared stated. "Dylan..."

He didn't know what to say. Rosaline wasn't ready to meet them, well Dylan. Sebastian would be okay to meet her since he's just a quiet shadow in the back of the room. Dylan however would bombard her with his domineering ways.

"Yes, that's me you dimwit," Dylan snapped again, and Jared had to take a moment to stop himself from hanging up on Dylan.

"What do you want?" He already knew the answer to his question.

"You know exactly what I want," Dylan yelled, and Jared could feel his patience thinning along with his ability to hear.

"You're damn right I do, but you won't get it until you ask for it."

Silence came from Dylan's end and it went on so long that Jared had to pull away the phone to see if he had hung up.

"I want to see her."

Jared raised a brow as a teasing smile stretched onto his face.

"See who?"

"Jared," Dylan roared and for a second Jared thought his ear had blown out.

"Okay, I'll bring her over Sebastian's house, you impatient imp," Jared snaps, when his ears stopped ringing.

"Why can't you come over my house," Dylan grumbled and the image of him pouting, with his arms crossed over his chest, flashed through Jared's mind causing him to smile.

"Because, Sebastian's house is more friendly and if she's going to meet you, she needs to meet Sebastian and if you try to say otherwise, I'm not bringing her to meet you."

Dylan sighs and grumbled some other words that made Jared to hang up.

He waited for a few moments, to see if his phone was going to ring again. 5 minutes passed and when the phone didn't ring, he slipped it into his pocket and went to check on Rosaline.

One thing that he never did was knock on a door in his own house. So, once he got to Rosaline's door, he opened it only after a moment's hesitation. Expecting to see Rosaline still in bed sleeping, he's surprised when the room was empty. The made-up bed tells Jared that either she woke up early and made her bed up before leaving or she didn't sleep at all.

Panic almost cuts off his thinking as he ran to the room next door and threw the door open.

There she was, sitting on the bench, playing the piano. Relief dampered down the panic, though some still remain, increased hit heart rate just a little bit. Jared cursed himself for not putting any motion detectors or cameras to let him know when she moves. Rosaline's music room was made soundproof so when she did play, it didn't disturb or distract him for whatever reason.

Jared entered the room and leaned against the wall, watching her stare at the keyboard with a blank stare.

"Rosaline," he called.

She didn't respond and he pushed himself off the wall, walking a few steps towards her.

"Rosaline," he yelled.

She jumped and spun around, almost falling off the bench she was perched on.

"Are you okay," he asked, concerned.

Slowly, she shook her head at the same time the word, "yes," came out.

He paused at the adorable action before a full-hearted laugh erupted from his chest. Rosaline was just so adorable hurt.

"You just lied to me," he said in a whispered, when he sobered up.

He watched as guilt flashed across his face and waited for her to say something. She doesn't.

He let out a sigh and took steps towards her and lifted her up into his arms. She squealed and he had to resist the urge to coo. She just adorable.

He carried her from her music room to her bedroom. With one hand he pulled back the covers and set her on top of the sheets, pulling to cover over her. The moment he finishes covering her, her breathing slows, evening out letting him know she's asleep. Jared smiled and kissed each chubby cheek, wishing her a silent goodnight.

His pocket vibrated and a second later Milkshake started to play again. Not wanting to wake Rosaline up he sprints out the room, closing the door softly behind him before picking up the phone and heading to his office.

"Hello-

-Where have you been?" The anger in his assistants voice caused Jared to raise a brow.

"At home with my daughter."

Glass breaking was heard, and Jared covers his mouth as not to laugh.

"WHAT!"

Jared had to pull the phone away from his ear, still trying to hold in a laugh.

"Well... as of last week I've officially became the parent of Rosaline Garonna who is now my daughter."

A few seconds pass until it becomes a minute and for the second time that day Jared had to check to see if he was hung up on. This time though, he was. His laugh burst out, rumbling from his chest as he finally enters his office, sitting down in his favorite chair.

Justin, his personal assistant has been with Jared since he first started his company, when it was still a baby. Their relationship border on family and Jared knew the next time he sees Justin he's gonna get torn a new one.

Jared looked down at his phone and grimaced when he realized that Rosaline wouldn't sleep more than an hour. He knew she stayed up all night and didn't want to wake her up early, but he knew that if he canceled, he'd have two idiots named, Dylan and Sebastian, barging into his home.

Just the thought made him shudder. Turning in his computer, he signs in and checks his emails appalled at the number of emails that have been sent from Justin. No wonder he sounded so angry on the phone. Briefly scanning them he realizes just how selfish he's been hanging out with Rosaline and leaving unannounced and giving Justin an unearthly amount of work, he wasn't prepared for.

Jared made a mental note to sincerely apologize along with a generous raise and for the next hours he tries to respond to as many emails as he can, flagging a few of them when they're of importance.

It's 8 o'clock when he's done.

Groaning, Jared stretched his tired limbs, before he tossed himself out his chair and out of his office. He made his way down to Rosaline's room and didn't knock before he came in. He made his way over to Rosaline and couldn't help but compare her to an angel. Her red hair was splayed along the silk pillow, the light peeking through her bedroom window and making her hair resemble fire. Her skin was slightly tanned and from what her parents said about her being isolated and not going out often, he made a guess that it was natural.

Carefully he reached over and gently shook her shoulders. She shrugs him off.

"Rosaline."

She sighs and opens her hazel eyes that almost look like they have flecks of blue and green. Jared can't hold back a frown at how red her beautiful eyes are. She must've gotten little to no sleep.

"He looks handsome," Rosaline mumbled.

Jared felt his chest swell with pride and he couldn't help the amusement that shined in his eyes.

"Why thank you," he said. "You ready to get up?"

Rosaline shook her head and pulled the covers over her head. His amusement grew as he snatched the covers off her body.

"Well, too bad because we have places to go."

Rosaline groans and curls into a ball. It looks oddly pathetic enough that Jared wishes she can get more sleep, though he tells himself she can get more sleep in the car.

Having made the decision to give Rosaline more time he gets up and goes to her closet, to pick out an outfit for her. Looking around nothing catches his eyes, until he sees a polka dot dress. He imagines it on Rosaline, knowing that the color will pop against her skin. The ruffles are just an added bonus. Taking the clothing off the hanger he goes back out and lays the dress on Rosaline's bed.

"Rosaline," he called, grabbing her attention. "I've laid out your clothes for you on the bed. Brush your teeth, put on lotion and deodorant and get dressed."

Nodding, her head lulled to her side as her eyelids began to droop. She's not getting up. Holding in a groan of frustration Jared grabbed the ends of her nightgown, pulled it up slightly.

"What are you doing," she yelled, getting up and blindly scooting away from him.

He smiled at her reactions. Well she's up now.

"If you don't hurry up and get ready, I'll dress you for you. Is that understood?"

Her eyes narrowed as she slowly nodded. He couldn't help but feel as if she's trying to be a lioness when she's really a kitten.

"Good, yell when you're done."

With that he left the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

"Pedophile."

Jared's face twisted up at the name as he leaned against the door, pulling out his phone.

Candy crush was getting frustrating when he heard another name.

"Creeper."

Now he's confused. Why is he a creeper? Minutes later Rosaline called out, "Sir, I'm done."

He instantly opened the door and beamed at how cute she looked. Her hair is covered part of her face and Jared went into the closet snagging a white headband and a Mary-Jane shoes.

When he exits Rosaline began to whine.

"No, I don't want to wear those."

Jared knew the outfit wasn't spectacular, but she looked cute.

Jared bent down and lifted her foot up gently sliding the shoe on her foot and buckling the strap. When it's sure not to come off, he got up and with care, placed the headband on her forehead and slid it back, pushing her hair out her face.

"Perfect," he couldn't help but whispers.

The compliment made her cheeks red and caressed her reddening cheeks.

His phone buzzed and he's reminded that time is of the essence. He got up and grabbed Rosaline and placed her on his hip. She didn't say anything as he walked out her room and down the hall.

"Sir?"

A thrill shoot through him when Rosaline's soft voice pronounced his title. He only spared her a glance, not wanting her to see the pervy look that he knew painted itself across his face.

"Hm"

She paused for a minute as he made it to the foyer.

"Where are we going," she asked, and he couldn't help but notice how soft yet strained her voice sounded.

Is she scared?

Jared opened the front door, and closed it behind him, before he made his way to his limo.

"We're visiting some.... friends of mines."

Bryce opened his door and he slid in, having Rosaline on his lap. Bryce closed the door and jogged to the driver's seat, opening the door and sliding in as Jared had.

He waits for Rosaline to fall asleep before he pulls out his phone and goes back on Candy Crush, hating the fact that he can't beat the level he's on.

During the ride Jared watched as text after text from Dylan, showed up on his phone.

Why aren't you here?

You're a minute late.

What's taking so long?

If you don't get here in the next 5 minutes, I'll put out a warrant for your arrest.

The last one caused Jared to roll his eyes and laugh slightly, though it didn't keep the frustration at bay, at the fact that Dylan's blowing up his phone.

Rosaline had been asleep doing most of the ride, though she did wake up some time ago and has kept up the sleeping hoax for about 15 minutes. So, he kept up the hoax that he was busy and pretended he was on the phone, just for the fun of it. He wanted to see how far she would let him go and wrapped his arms around her and pressed her to his chest.

There was slight discomfort and he had to urge to make her even more uncomfortable, but stopped himself when he realized, that wasn't the best idea.

The only reason he knew she was awake, was because from time to time she would go into a haze where she wasn't awake but wasn't asleep and would violently rub her nose and go back to sleep. In the last 15 minutes she hasn't done that yet. Jared found it cute, yet he found himself concerned on whether or not that can damage her nose in the future.

The sound of tires on gravel reached Jared's ears, letting him know that they've arrived at Sebastian's house. He stops his on-the-phone-hoax and texts Sebastian to hurry up and unlock the door. Bryce quietly got out the car. Jared shifted and Rosaline's eyes snapped open in alarm.

"Hey Rosaline, how was your sleep," Jared asked, with a teasing note in his voice.

She looked up at him and shrugged.

"It was fine," she whispered.

Jared gave her a look full of amusement and Rosaline blushed, before she buried her face in her chest, much to his surprise.

Bryce opened the door and stretched out his hand towards the girl in his lap. Rosaline turned her head and looked at him, not moving.

"Ma'am."

Jared gave her an encouraging nudge and after a moment she grabbed Bryce's hand. Bryce pulled her out the car and Jared watched as she was set on the ground and couldn't help but coo at the look of awe that was on her face. Jared gets out the car and watched as Rosaline took a step forward. Immediately, Jared picked her up and set her on his hip. She pouted like a child and squirmed in Jared's hold. He didn't grip her as tight as he should've, and her movement caused him to almost drop her.

"Rosaline," Jared warned as he tried to get a better grip on her. She didn't stop squirming and frustrated he gave her a sharp swat on her butt. She froze and Jared got a better grip on her.

He began his journey up the wooden steps as he ignored the angry glare from the girl in his arms. Jared walked up to the front door and grabbed the doorknob and twisted it, with a held in sigh of relief. For once Sebastian actually listened to Jared. Rosaline gasped, but he ignored her and continued on to the basement door.

He opened the door and the sound of Dylan and Sebastian talking, reached his ears. He smiled, at the happiness in the male's voices. Small hands reached his suit jacket and crumpled it beneath their grip. Jared looked over at Rosaline and was surprised at the fear of look in her eyes, along with how tense her body is.

Slowly, as if to ease her into it, he walked down the stairs, each step announced their arrival. They were halfway down the stairs when the voices of his friends stopped, and Jared feels Rosaline's grip on his suit jacket tighten. He kept going down the steps when Rosaline hid her face in his neck. He continued down the stairs, until his dress shoes connected with the carpet floor. Dylan and Sebastian both looked at the beauty in his arms with mixed feelings of emotion. Jared's smile returned once again as he knew that their dream of being together with one-woman would-be reality. His hands moved to her waist and he tried to put her down on the ground. A strangled noise comes from Rosaline and Jared hold in the urge to pull her back into his arms. If he did that they wouldn't get anywhere. He tightened his grip on her waist.

"Jared, why the fuck does she have a cast on her leg," Dylan growled and Rosaline began to tremble.

Jared sent Dylan a glare and mouthed, 'back off, you're scaring her'. Dylan gritted his teeth and clenched his fists as his side but didn't say anything else. He wrapped his arms around his small body and placed his lips next to his ear and loved the way she shivered.

"Calm down Rosaline, these are my friends," Jared whispered. "No one's going to hurt you."

He watched as she took in a deep breath and another one until she opened her eyes and released his shirt from her tight grip. He let her go and she stepped away from him. Jared nodded at his friends and they nodded back.

Dylan leaned forward, a smile on his face.

"Hi Rosaline, my name is Dylan."

He watched as Rosaline's attention goes to Dylan and gave him a quick scan, almost as if it were instinct. Jared didn't know whether to smile or cringe at the action. Rosaline cleared her throat and looked at Dylan head on.

"H-Hello Dylan, it's nice to meet you," she whispered.

Jared holds back a smile at when Dylan's eyes softened and had to hold in a snicker when Sebastian adjusted his pants.

Dylan chuckled and looked over at Sebastian, before he shoved his shoulder, which caused Sebastian to glare at him.

"This quiet dude next to me is Sebastian.," Dylan introduced.

Rosaline turned her attention of Sebastian and just....stared. We watched her, watch Sebastian and couldn't stop the laughter that bubbled up inside him.

"Hi Sebastian, it's nice to meet you too."

Sebastian only gave her a nod, which caused Jared to bristle. Why is he being so unwelcoming?

Jared got tired of standing and went over to one of the lone chairs and grabbed Sebastian's glass that still had some bourbon in it. Dylan, never being a patient man reached over and snatched Rosaline and placed her on his lap. Rosaline immediately began to pull away but Dylan wasn't having it. He slammed her back into his chest and she whined, before she looked over her shoulder at Jared. He just smiled and took a swig of bourbon.

"Put me down," she demanded.

Dylan swatted her on her thigh, causing Rosaline to jump. Jared rolled his eyes of the lack of patience his friend has.

"Put. Me. Down," she demanded again, and Jared could see her anger raise dangerously, though he didn't pay any mind. Dylan could handle her.

"No," Dylan said simply, and Rosaline frowned.

"W-What's your favorite color," Sebastian asked, as he most likely tried to defuse a situation.
