《Rather Ruthless》Chapter Nineteen

There was nothing he could do now. That was what was running through his mind. He was tied up and he couldn't do anything stupid because someone else would get hurt. In all his years of planning revenge on his father, he had never thought of what would happen if other people got involved. He had been so sure that everything would go according to plan. And if it hadn't, then only those involved would be hurt. He should never underestimated John Asher.
Right now, the man in question was sitting in a dining chair, that had been pulled in, right across from them. He was watching them, as if thinking of ways to torment them. Trystan turned to look at Fallon, who looked back at him and gave a slight smile. The smile confused Trystan. What was going on? Had there been a plan that h had not known of? God, he hoped so. He didn't want this to be his last night alive. He certainly didn't want this to be any of their last nights, especially for Kaia, who he turned his head to face. She looked so tired and scared. He wanted to reach out and hold her, protect her.
"This is a lot more boring than I expected. Seriously, after so many years of keeping track of my movements and planning your so called revenge, this is what it came down to? You won't even call me names and curse me? You were so much more fun when you were kids." The complaint was followed by a groan and an annoyed look. "Why don't we start to have a little fun? Maybe with this other lovely lady?" John Asher motioned towards Ms Reed and she as immediately grabbed and pulled up by one of the bodyguards.

"Aunt Candace," Kaia started to rise, panic in her voice. She was pushed down roughly by another one of the men as her aunt was pulled closer to his father.
"Why are you so interested in the women?" Trystan asked, trying to keep his voice level. He couldn't give this man what he wanted. "You came here for us, didn't you? We are the ones you wanted to destroy. And I am the one who disfigured your face. So why do you not just hurt me?"
"Because I want you to suffer. Hurting you physically doesn't satisfy me and after years of it, you became more stubborn. Maybe this is what needs to happen. Start by hurting this one." John grabbed Ms Reed's arm and twisted. Ms Reed let out a scream that made Fallon stand to his feet.
"Let her go, John!" He growled, fighting off the men that tried to hold him down. "If you hurt her, I will kill you." John just laughed.
"Fallon, this is your lady? Well, I have had just about enough surprises. But, this is getting more interesting. Who would have guessed that The Poison would get a girlfriend." John squeezed Ms Reed's arm more and pulled her closer to him. He leaned in towards her and placed his lips against her cheek. Fallon fought harder, causing one of the men to punch him in the gut. He still fought like he had not just been hit. Trystan looked around the room, trying to find a way to escape. Something he could do.
The atmosphere of the room changed as a hand reached out of nowhere and a gun was placed against the head of John Asher.
"Let the lady go, else I will shoot your brains out," Trystan recognized the voice and he felt relief seep through him as he remembered that he ha called Dean earlier. He watched as his father let go of Ms. Reed. "Good, now tell your men to untie them and I won't hurt you."

"Why should I do that?" John asked. "I could kill them all right now and be satisfied." Dean raised up his other arm and a knife glistened in his palm.
"I could just add another decoration to you face. Give you nice ribbon shape, would you like that?" All of a sudden, a shot rang out and Dean flinched. Then six more shots rang out, striking the bodyguards and the men that came with his father.
That was when chaos reigned. Trystan bent over and everyone else followed as The bodguards returned fire to the hallway, where Trystan supposed the second shots had come from but he couldn't see anyone. He suddenly felt someone behind him and turned to see Fallon, untied, cutting away his restraints. Keith was also untied, he was crawling towards Ms Reed, who had crouched into the fetal position. As soon as Fallon untied him, he turned towards Kaia but she had been captured by his father. His father was pulling her behind him as his men surrounded him, shielding him from the shots.
Trystan saw red and didn't think as he jumped and slammed into one of the bodyguards, punching him and knocking him out. The rest turned but were too occupied with the hidden shooter. Trystan ran to his father and grabbed his shirt. He punched John and pulled Kaia away from him. He felt all the anger that had built up over the years and descended on his father with punch after punch. In that moment, he wished he had the knife again so he could rake them against his father's face again. This man was the reason his mother was dead. This man was the reason her had been trapped in a dark room and hidden from the outside world, tortured and starved for six years. This man had treated him like he was nothing and he would kill him now. He would kill him and free himself from the pain. From the nightmares, the breakdowns, the ever- lingering fear that he would be hurt again. He barely heard Kaia shouting his name. He didn't notice as she moved towards them and tried to grab his arm. He barely felt himself push her away but he heard her scream of pain.
He turned to look at her and saw her on the ground, grimacing as she moved. He turned back to his father and saw his bloodied face. He lifted his bloody fist. He knew he should feel remorse but he didn't. He felt nothing. He turned to look around him and saw that everything was over. Everyone he knew was alive. Some were hurt but they were alive. He watched as Van de Molen walked in, followed by his three bodyguards.
Maybe they had finally won, but he didn't feel like it.

You’ve Got The Wrong House, Villain
As if it’s not bad enough to be reincarnated as a child in a slum, she went into a crime town and became an experiment. When I saw a man who came to destroy the research center, I realized that this was the world of a harem novel. Originally, the main character had to save a fallen villain from a fatal wound and receive a mad obsession in return. But why is it that the villainous servant fainted in front of my house? 8 368The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
