《Rather Ruthless》Chapter Eight

Kaia looked at her reflection in the full body mirror. She looked beautiful. The dress Trystan had bought for her was incredible. Somehow, she wasn't as mad as she was before. It had something to do with the note that had come with the dress. It had said;
You will look lovely in anything but I thought this dress would be perfect, just as you are. It's for tonight, we're having dinner at 7. I'll be waiting for you in the garden.
-Trystan
Yeah, she had blushed at his words. She was really stupid. She was still going to kill him, but maybe after dinner. A girl had to eat before committing murder, right?
She twirled and smiled. She really looked good. She didn't think she'd look good in blue but she did. It was a long Jovani two piece dress, slid from the thigh down to the hem. The top piece of the dress was sequined, making her shine. It was a very beautiful dress.
When she was done admiring herself, she grabbed a matching clutch and made her way to the garden. The sight that met her was breath-taking. The garden had been illuminated with strings of light in different colors. The fountain hadn't been left out and the water changed colors every second. Them she saw the tanle set for them. It was right in the middle of all this beauty. She gasped, tears filling her eyes at what Trystan had organized.
"What do you think?" She heard Trystan ask from behind her. She sighed and turned around. He looked very handsome in another suit. It was fitting and brought out his physique. Her mind instantly drifted to how he had looked in the gym. She snapped out of it to catch him staring at her. "You look like a dream, Kaia. You're extraordinarily beautiful." Kaia turned away as her cheeks burned.

"Thank you, Trystan." She gulped. Then he took her hand and led her to the table. He pulled out her chair for her and when she was seated, moved to the other seat to sit. He smiled at her.
"You really look lovely." He complimented again. Kaia tried to focus on the garden so she wouldn't feel embarrassed by his words.
"How did you organize all this?"
"I just called a decorator from the town and told him how I wanted the garden to look." Kaia nodded before the words sank in.
"There's a town on the island?"
"Yes, it may be a small island but it is quite modernized. They have huge stores and markets around. I'll take you on a tour, if you like."
"I'll love that." Kaia said, excited. She couldn't believe that she was actually enjoying being kidnapped. She must be really crazy.
She caught Trystan motioning, then a waiter made his way to them, carrying a bottle of wine. It was like a dream, and she was a modern day Cinderella. She only hoped it wasn't going to end at midnight.

Candace tapped her feet to the music being played in the elevator. It helped with the nervousness. She couldn't believe she was going to see this Fallon guy. He had given her his number and his address, which he had only added as an afterthought.
She should have called but she hadn't. Instead, she had driven too the apartment building, which was huge. And here she was, riding the elevator to the penthouse apartment. This just showed how different Kaia and her world was from the world of the likes of Trystan Dwyer and Fallon.
Fallon. It was an interesting name. Was it his real name or just a nickname? Was there a surname or it was just one name? It bothered her that he intrigued her. He was mysterious and quite serious. Ever since her husband's death, no guy had ever interested her before. Not that she was interested. She was just curious.

Yeah, that's why she was on her way to his home rather just calling him and asking if he had found his niece.
What was wrong with her? She was in her late thirties. She wasn't young, not anymore. So why was she at his apartment?
Nope, she was just here for business and nothing else. She was just in the neighborhood and had wanted to be reassured in person. She didn't like him. He didn't interest her. Besides, he was too young for her.
Probably ten years younger and that wasn't really bad.
Yes, it was.
She groaned just as the elevator stopped and its door began to slide open. She hovered in the elevator, unsure. Then she stepped out in a burst of courage and pressed his doorbell before she could back out. Then she waited.
She rehearsed what she was going to say but when the door opened all the words flew out of her mind.
He wasn't wearing a shirt.
