"What is that?" Steve asks confused.
"It's all we have left to guide us." Douxie gets up and wipes a tear away. "Other than that, we're on our own."
------------------------------------------------
Mailins PoV:
Douxie holds Merlin's staff and hugs it to his chest, his cheeks are still wet from the tears he shed a minute ago.
Claire is holding the book while she and Steve stood behind him.
I am standing next to Douxie, rubbing his arm soothingly which he returned with a small thankful smile.
"It's all gone. Everything." Douxie says sadly while looking at the ruins of Camelot. "The Heart of Avalon, Camelot... Merlin." Douxie picks up a shard of the heart and looks at it sadly.
"Maybe we should say a few words...?" Claire suggested.
"Yeah, okay." I heard Steve answer. "Ahem. Battleship. November. Fruit punch." Steve said before sobbing. "Purple-" he sobbed even more.
Douxie pocketed the shard. "Oh, what can I say about Merlin?" He turned to Claire and Steve. "He was... he was, uh... he was everything. He was all we had." Douxie said and sat down in the grass. I slowly kneel next to him and take his hands into mine.
"Honey, we'll get through this, together." I smile at him, and he gave me a small smile back.
"Thank you for always being there for me love."
"We need you, Doux, now more than ever. The world, our friends are in danger." Claire said and hands him the book.
"And the Order's about to kick off an arcane apocalypse." Archie added.
Douxie opened the book. "Merlin didn't tell me anything. And, of course, he gave us a book I can't even read." He held up the book to show Claire and Steve. "I mean, what is that supposed to be? Orcish? Elvish? Naga snake tribe?"

Archie gasps "It looks like... ancient Draconic."
"As in..." Douxie starts and stands up again. I get up as well.
"Charlemagne, the Devourer." Archie finishes and transforms into a dragon.
"Charlemagne, the Devourer. Keeper of the most sacred stones and treasures. A vicious dragon." Douxie explains.
"Which is why we shouldn't trouble him. Maybe someone else can translate." Archie says nervously.
"Come on, Arch! This is clearly about the Genesis Seals. And if the Order finds them first-"
"Yes, yes, yes, we're all doomed. I suppose we'll have to pay Charlemagne a visit." Archie says and transforms back into a cat.
Douxie conjures the ship back to us.
"You got back to Hex Tech. Research any dark magic that could help Jim." Douxie says to us.
I sigh and kiss Douxie. "Be careful please."
"Always am love." Douxie winks and I follow Claire through the portal.
We are back in the safe room and Claire tells the others what happened.
"I can't believe Merlin's gone." Toby says sadly.
"And Master Jim, trapped in the body of a loathsome beast by Arthur's corruption."
"I sense all living souls, small and great. And I felt Merlin's leave this plane." Nari says sadly from where she's hovering in the air.
"Nari, if you can feel all souls, what about Jim's?" Claire asks.
A determined expression forms on Naris face. "I will try." She sinks back to the ground, walks a few steps away, floats back up and holds her arms out. Vines grow below her with the echoing sound of a heartbeat.
"My roots extend across the Earth." Nari sinks back down. "But I cannot find the soul of your friend."
"So, all that's left of Jimbo is that beast?" Toby asks.

I sigh sadly at that from where I'm sitting on a bench. "If I had known father was still alive, I would've tried to get him back. This is all my fault. I'm so sorry..." I put my head in my hands.
"No, Mailin it's not your fault. You didn't know. And dark magic did this to Jim. Not your father." Claire says while comfortingly putting a hand on my shoulder.
I lift my head again and manage to give her a small smile "thank you Claire."
"I won't accept that. If we can't find his soul in this world, I'll find it in another. I'm going into the Shadow Realm." Claire says determinedly, opens a portal and enters it.
After about half an hour later Claire falls back out.
"Claire!" Toby says happily.
And aunt Morgana.
Toby screams "Evil Lady!"
Steve screams as well while Krel curses "Great Gaylen!"
"Queen of Darkness!" Blinky gasps as he holds out his arms in front of us. "Compatriots, to arms!"
"Stop! You've got it wrong!" Claire says while they get up. "She's not the enemy!"
My voice quivers as I step in front of the others "Aunt Morgana...?"
Aunt Morgana's eyes widen, and I see tears forming in her eyes "my dear niece!"
I slowly walk towards her and then pull her into a hug "I missed you Aunt Morgana!" Tears go down my cheeks. I feel her arms wrap around me as she hugs my back tightly. "I missed you too my dear niece." She says softly.
Suddenly everything shakes and the building groans.
I gasp and get up quickly. The others yelp in surprise, and we run to the front.
"They followed me." Aunt Morgana says.
We look through the glass front and our eyes widen, and we gasp as we see the huge skull in front of the building.
We run outside and Skrael, Bellroc and the green knight land in front of us.
"Enough hiding, Nari. This ends now." The green knight says.
I stand in front of her protectively "You're Not taking her!" I growl, my eyes start to glow rosé while a pink aura emits from my body.
Everyone gets ready to fight and everyone either transforms or activate their magic.
Aunt Morgana floats up and fires a spell "Elemen-zath!"
The arcane order easily dodges. We continue to fight; the arcane order is strong but so are we.
But after a brave fight Skrael fires a huge ice beam, the others run back inside, screaming but get trapped in his ice.
I was able to dodge it by flying up into the air.
I land again in front of my friends and hold my hands together. A rosé orb materializes "LUMOS MAXIMA!" I shout, it grows rapidly, explodes and blinds the order momentarily with its bright light.
"What kind of magic was that?" Claire asks confused, her head wasn't fully encased.
"Magic Douxie and I learned 10 years ago abroad in a school for witchcraft and wizardry." I answered with a sly smirk.
I turn when I hear a roar and see Bellroc shooting a huge fire beam.
With a shout I draw my hands apart and form a force field, but it gets broken. I get thrown back by its force and am encased in ice as well.
They then take us onto their ship.

Polly and Drake
Drake has been searching for a job as a personal guard, but wherever he turns, he is kicked out without fail. It's not that he's terrible with weapons, or inattentive. It could be because of his obvious racial heritage. Or because of Polly. With his funds dwindling, the only remaining option is to become one of the Cursed: poor souls that work for the Dragoneye Guild. In other lands, they may be called adventurers, saviors or even heroes, but not in the White Desert. Here, they are shunned and ignored. Depraved people who forsook their humanity for money and fame. With this choice, Drake may not only fall from grace, but also become one of only a few thousands capable of unearthing the secrets of ancient times. If he could get this guardsman notion out of his head. May contain gore, violence, profanity and traumatising content. Taking another shoot at this writing business. I write for fun and when I have time. There is no plan. The story may change drastically from what it starts out - or not. We'll see what happens. Currently, I'm aiming for a Slice of Life with LitRPG elements at a later time.

Of Righteous Evil
To wield the magical Arts. The power to manipulate nature itself. Follow Silas on his journey as he learns what it means to be a Mage. With war brewing on the horizon, Silas' plan to become a hero clashes with the harsh reality of conflict. Torn between contradicting emotions, he will have to reconsider his perceptions of both good and evil. Does the end truly never justify the means? Note from author (13.09.20): Sentences have been shortened, less commata used. Paragraphs have been split up. Meant to be "realistic" fantasy, with no overpowered protagonist or evil sorcerer trying to destroy the world. The focus lies on the characters, their progressions and their inner conflicts, coupled with an intricate magic system. Constructive criticism is highly appreciated! HIATUS Updates: 12.12.20 Chapter 1 & 2 are written together. The backstory of the parents will be integrated into one of the later chapters. 20.12.20 Prologue has been rewritten, fight added. Will now continue writing the chapters until the first arch is finished. 19.01.21 Chapter 15 is written. Will hopefully be able to write more from now on, university has been kinda rough these days. 08.04.21 Chapter 16 & 17 has been written. Beginning will be rewritten (again) to start with chapter 3. Chapter 1 & 2 will be shown through reocurring dreams / nightmares. 10.08.21 Rewriting of the first arc is complete and has been proofread twice. Plot of rest of book one is 80% complete. Will publish chapters once first book is finished and proofread. 06.12.21 Second arc is finished (chapter 24/31-33). First draft will likely be finished around February, after which I will edit a few suggestions of my beta readers and publish it on RR. Release schedule: Once a week on Sunday, chapters are around 3000 words long. (HIATUS, see last chapter for more info) Cover art by Riverman09
