《Human Resources》Twenty-seven

Falcon led Bosak, trailing behind grudgingly, down the corridor to the temporary barracks.
“The key to the future, sir, the key to the future.” Falcon rambled. “I think you will be more than pleased when you see the results. Do you remember the two employees I showed you on the screen during our little tête-à-tête?”
The CEO nodded, studying the state of his manicure. “The ones that looked like a pack of madmen? Clause and Kringel, right?”
“Oh, so close!” Falcon turned around, walking backwards as they trudged along, talking enthusiastically with his hands. “Doctors Klaus and Klingel. They are eccentrics, I’ll grant you that, but they have spearheaded the project. Klaus came to us from a certain notorious French conglomerate when we bought them out ten years ago. He single-handedly mastered the technique for the controlled replication of DNA. Klingel came on board a few years later. He was working in restorative gene therapy for a Southern Californian company we also acquired for a song. The two hit it off famously.”
“I see, so these two are the geniuses behind your little plan?”
“Oh please sir. The idea was mine alone, I merely tapped their skill set to get the job done. Technical people lack vision. I supply the vision, they supply the results. I think you will be pleased.”
“Get off your high horse. There is no ‘I’ in team, Oliver.”
“But there is an ‘M’ and an ‘E’,” Falcon snickered as he turned back forward. “But I digress. Ah, there they are.” Up ahead, a dozen meters down the hall, the rotund scientist and his lanky counterpart waited outside the entrance. Falcon waved to them. Klaus beamed a smile, but Klingel seemed to be distracted with the time.

“Gentlemen!” Klaus greeted each man with a firm handshake and a clap on the back. “So glad you could stop by. Mister President, sir! I am Doctor Gustav Klaus and this is my associate Doctor Arnold Klingel.” Klingel tried to smile, but the awkwardness of it made the CEO take a step backward. Klaus pressed on. “We are truly honored by your presence here today. I hope you will be pleased with what you see.”
Before Bosak could get a word in, Falcon butted in. “We are very glad to be here.” He smiled his predatory smile. “I trust everything is going according to schedule?”
“Absolutely, Mister Falcon. Things are actually proceeding better than we imagined, with considerable help from the skills and training regimen designed by Fraulein Omega, of course.”
Bosak smiled at that, and shot a rebuking glance at Falcon. “See, Oliver? Even the esteemed Doctor here knows how to share the credit.” Falcon scowled.
“But I need not bore you with the details, Mister President! Please, follow me. Come along, Arn.” Klingel was lost in space, still staring at the CEO with his inane smile. Klaus punched him in the shoulder and he snapped out of it, trailing along after the group.

The Helena Chronicles
Espers are really no different than humans; they look like any normal human and in general behave like any normal human. However, there are a few key differences. The max life expectancy of espers ranges from forty-five to fifty. They naturally have a knack for mathematics and are extremely intelligent in general, this is because their abilities rely on the subconscious and conscious calculations. They also have a mysterious energy source they call Focus that is generated naturally by all espers. The continent of Elestveeve is populated by three major factions, each a governing force. On the west of the continent, there is the Noble Houses that subscribe to the Deity Faith. The Houses ruling with the Deity Faith as council since the religion's founding four-hundred years previous. Controlling most of the northeast is WITCH, an organization ruled by powerful espers; claiming the mysterious Genesis as their capital, they are a whispered myth among much of the continent's less technically advanced residents. In the southeast you have Tech City, a towering monolith of a capital with four sky layers and metropolis' leveled deep underground; it is a city brimming with technical advancement and cyber integration. Each faction contends with one another for their evolutionary ideology, by devout religious worship to receive miraculous gifts, unique genetic lineage to obtain ESP, and technological integration to become something more than human. Helena, a young genius and esper, awakes in a dark room with only fuzzy memories and the company of seven other children. She must determine how she got there and how to get back to where she came from. Warning: Due to time constraints, I don't have the time to keep up on my three stories; therefore, Helena will need to go in a stasis chamber until I can find more time to write between work and life. I love my first girl so much! however, it seems she is the least popular among the fans (the poor girl T_T). This world is much bigger than my other two novels and I'm not giving up on it, but simply having to put her on ice.

8 108Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
8 147Heroes of Midlaris
Heroes of Midlaris is on hiatus until I finish writing Arc 2, and will resume once Arc 2 has been completely written. There is no ETA for this. After a long, exhausting day at work, where he faced the usual harassment from some of his coworkers, Luke just wanted to return some books to the library, head home, and rest. Instead, he died on the way and became reincarnated into the world of Midlaris, a world of myth and magic. There, he was found and raised by seven elders, who each taught him their craft as he grew up. When he turned sixteen, he began to attend university in the nearby kingdom, beginning a tale of love and friendship, of creativity and growth, and of an ancient past that begins to return. The first several chapters covers his childhood, for those coming to read about him at university. Posting Schedule: Alternating between 2 days and 3 days (so two chapters in a 5-day period). Patrons can read up to 15 chapters early.
