✨Inspired by Coraline- basically male boyfriend version of the other mother/beldam ((because that's one of the best movies ever I could do one like the corpse bride too if you guys really wanted)) this is your Other Boyfriend✨

A/N :

But it's nearly 8000 words so I'm posting it! Sorry for typos

You put your ankle against the edge of the door, swinging it open with your foot and struggled to carry the large box in. You and your boyfriend had recently moved into the Pink Palace Apartments, a rather dull looking home.

The two of you had been together for a while now and everything has been going well. You work, he games, you cook, he games, you clean, he....games.

Well... sure the two of you aren't perfect but at least you love each other!

You walked into the bedroom the two of you shared and set the box down on his side of the bed, noting the label with his name on it. You looked around the room. It was a rather dull looking home. You were certainly going to spruce up the place with some plants and fresh paint!

You walked out of the room and noticed your boyfriend already setting up the TV and game consoles. You paced over behind him with a pout on his face. "Can't you at least wait and help me out a little?" You asked in a pleading tone.

Without even looking at you he shook his head. "No. There's a new pack on sale and I have to get it today." He said.

You rolled his eyes, having barely a clue as to what he was talking about. "Whatever you say..."

Isory was his name. And he was a NEET. Not employed, in education, or in training. But a cute neet at that.

You were slightly ashamed to admit that a part of you first only fell for him because of his looks. Most girls were turned off by his much lesser qualities such as his horrible gaming habits but it didn't bother you much.

You liked how into his games he was. You liked watching him play and even sometimes playing with him. You liked listening to him ramble on and on about them! That is... until that was all that he did.

You swore you could walk out in front of him completely naked and he wouldn't bat an eye and tell you to get out of the way because he's busy.

It was your first night here though so at the very least you wanted him to actually come to the bed you two shared instead of leaving you cold and alone all night! So you set up the bed with all the nice fluffy blankets, ignoring the boxes and junk around, just trying to make the bed perfect. You had found a spider on the wall earlier and about had a heart attack.

You really did hated spiders.

But luckily your vacuum came to the rescue! After you set up the sheets you took a step back to actually notice the room better.

It was so dull looking. There wasn't much color in the walls and the wooden floors groaned when you walked on them. The house itself had a faint dewy musty smell that you weren't sure where it came from. The house seem very, very old and apart of you felt like it was sleeping.

You sighed. You really hope those new pots you ordered would come in soon so you could make this your little cottagecore dream house.

You walked out of the bedroom and right up to your boyfriend who was already playing a game. You came up behind him, him sitting on the couch and you bending over it to wrap your arms around his neck.

"You're going to come to bed with me this time right?" You asked with a soft smile on your voice.

He shrugged. "Maybe later." He said, not even glancing at you.

You pouted. "At least come see how I've set up the bedddd."

"In a minute" he said.

"No... come now because you won't come if I leave you be!" You said in a joking tone although it was true.

He sighed. "I said in a minute."

You tugged on him. "Isorryyyyy...." you groaned.

"Ok ok fine." He said, taking your arms off of him and standing up. "I'll go look. Will that make you happy?" He mumbled in a tone that sounded annoyed.

You shyly nodded your head. "Yes! It will!" You smiled.

He rolled his eyes and made his way towards the bedroom making you follow along behind him.

When you got to the room you were hoping for him to just scoop you up and flop in the bed so that you could snuggle! But instead... he just stood there with a less then thrilled look on his face.

"Do... you like it?" You asked hesitantly.

"Are you kidding?" He said. "You haven't even finished setting it up and you dragged me all the way here to see what? Nothing?"

Your lip trembled. "Well I-."

"Look there are still boxes around! You haven't even taken most of this shit out." He mumbled, looking at you.

You didn't say anything, staring into his eyes. You loved the color of his eyes... they were a beautiful soft lavender with hits of blue but you didn't like his eyes when they looked at you like that.

Hollow.

Hollow, hollow, hollow.

He suddenly set a hand on your head. You jumped and looked up at him.

"Besides." He said. "I'm busy so stop bothering me."

And with that he took his hand away and walked out. You stared at the hall where he left and listened for his footsteps until it went silent and the TV was playing again.

You stood there for a moment before slamming the door shut, rattling it's hinges and jumping on the bed you worked so hard to make look nice. You let out a hellish scream into the pillows knowing damn well even if Isory heard it he would pay no mind to it.

You started mumbling a string of profanities and eventually in your rage you fell asleep possibly crying.

Squeak squeak!

What the? You slowly opened your eyes.

Squeak squeak!

What time is it?

You noticed the lights were out meaning Isory probably saw you and turned them off but because the bed was so cold you knew he wasn't there. You glanced at the clock that illuminated blue.

3:00am.

Squeak squeak!

You quickly sat up. A mouse? Nonono! You scanned around the room, the hallway light being the only way you could see. Then you spotted it. A little mouse scurrying across the wooden floor and out under the door.

You sprung to your feet and grabbed a broom, pulling the door open more and following after it. You briefly remember a man who lives above you mentioning something about having a little mouse circus but you didn't think much of it. This was probably his doing though! What a slob! You thought.

You followed it across the hall and down the stairs trying to bat at it a few times. It ran past the kitchen and all the way into another room. Suddenly it scurried on and wiggled past a box that stood next to the wall.

"Oh no you don't!" You said, moving the box out of the way only to be surprised. It was a small door, small enough to crawl but not walk through as if it was for a child. You reached for the knob on the door and turned it, surprised when it opened. You were even more shock when a tunnel appeared before you. Your eyes widened, seeing the mouse scurry down the tunnel and to the closed door on the other side. A gust of ghostly wind brushed through your hair.

Something about the corridor seemed very old and very slow.

You hesitated for a moment. Where you really that curious? Where you? You sucked in your breath and began crawling through it. You were.

You finally got to the other side and pushed the door open, shocked only to find it was exactly where you just had been.

It was the same room you left from.

Confused, you slowly crawled out. "But didn't I..." you looked around... no it was definitely the same room you just came from. But something was just slightly off...

You saw the light in the kitchen on and heard rustling in there. Isory? Forgetting about the mouse you made your way into the kitchen scratching your head in confusion. "Hey babe something really strange jus-." You froze.

It was Isory but it also wasn't Isory. He stood there holding a bowl of cookie dough that he was seemingly stirring together. When you called for him he turned around and you were met with striking silver colored eyes instead of the typical lavender tinted blue ones you were used to. He wore a black turtleneck- something you've never seen him in and if all that wasn't strange enough he smiled.

"(Y/n)! You caught me! I was just making cookies for you... it's your favorite you know?" He said softly, tilting his head cutely.

You backed up a few steps. "You're not... Isory."

He giggled. "Of course I am!" He said.

You narrowed your eyes. "Isory can't cook... nor are his eyes... w-white." You said.

He gently set down the bowl. "Well... I'm not exactly that Isory. I'm the other Isory."

You blinked. "Like- ... like his twin?"

He laughed. "No silly! I'm your other boyfriend- as in I only appear because you're incredibly unhappy with him."

You struggled to understand. "Am I dreaming?" You asked.

He shook his head, then came closer and gently took your hands. "Dreaming? No... see? I'm real! Just as real as you are!"

His hands felt oddly cold but he still was still "real". Or as real as you thought a dream could be. You still weren't convinced you just imagined everything.

Despite this you said "I'll believe you..."

He gave you a gentle smile and let go of your hands. "Now what shall we do since you're up?" He asked.

You rose a brow.

"We coulllddd... watch a movie and cuddle on the couch. Or- oh! I got it! How about we organize your plants!" He grinned.

"My plants?" You questioned. "But they haven't been ordered yet."

"Oh well you see I decided to get some for you! Don't worry I got all your favorites. I know it means a lot to you to have the perfect plants." He said.

You stared at him for a moment. He did all that? A smile slowly crept up on your face. Even if this was possibly just a dream at the very least you could enjoy it.

"I think I'd like that!" You said with a closed eyed smile.

You didn't see Isorys eyes widen. He couldn't help but think... what a cute smile. He grabbed your arm and pulled on it slightly. "Great! Let me show you them all then!"

He dragged you into the bedroom. Immediately you noticed how much brighter your room looked. Instead of the ugly humming yellow lights there were soft tinted orange fairy lights hung from the ceiling. The bedding looked fluffier than even your own and there were different pots and plants around everywhere.

You gasped. "Oh Isory..." you mumbled. "What a lovely room you have."

You felt his hands wrap around your arm and pull you slightly closer. "You mean our room?" He hummed.

You paused. "I...guess."

He gave your a closed eyed smile to that. Though, something felt off. A part of you was starting to think this dream wasn't so fictional anymore...

You rubbed your eyes and yawned for a moment. Isory immediately noticed.

"Ah! Forgive me (Y/n). I forgot how late it was. Would you like me us to sleep now? I could tuck you in and get you some tea!" He said, pulling you over and sitting you down on the bed.

You looked at him confused for a moment and in your tired state said "but my Isory never has time for stuff like that..."

Another closed eyed smile with a short chuckle. "Silly... That's because I'm the better Isory! Now, I'll go get that tea you go ahead and lay down."

He quickly walked out of the room, your eyes following him as he left. The better Isory? Well... while that wasn't entire false it made you uncomfortable to think about. It felt rather weird.

A boy who looked exactly like Isory, except for the eyes, who sounded like Isory- minus the aggravated tiredness-, who even smelled like Isory too... but it didn't feel like Isory. It felt like

Like...

Like a copy.

You laid down in the fluffy bed, scooting under your covers. The sheets smelled like faint fresh roses making you burry your nose in the covers. You were already half asleep when Isory came back in the room. You were even vaguely aware of his presence.

"Ah," he said "you're very tired aren't you?"

You didn't reply, your mind already wondering off into dreamland.

He set down the tea on a nightstand and came over to the bed, sitting down next to where you were laying. His hand slowly came up and rested on the side of your cheek. "I'll see you soon then. Please come back to me tomorrow." He muttered. He leaned down closer, his breath tickling your ear as he whispered

"I'll be the perfect boyfriend for you. I promise."

You slowly began to stir awake. Cold. Immediately you felt cold. The soft smell of flowers was gone and was replaced by cheap laundry detergent. You opened your eyes and stared at the cracks in the bare boring ceiling.

You rolled over and let out a groan. "I guess it was a dreammmm..." you mumbled, slightly disappointed.

You sat up. Guess it was time to get ready for the day.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

"...and then you said you'd bring me tea and I don't really remember much after that." You said, explaining the strange dream you had to your boyfriend. However, you left out the last bit of it only because if was fuzzy to you and you weren't sure what happened.

Isory, the "real" one let out a hum, as he sat at the kitchen table stirring his morning coffee. "What a weird thing to dream about." He said with a Tsk.

You giggled. "What? Are you jealous?"

He glared at you. "If you ask me that kind of stuff is so dumb. Like hell I'd ever do lame vanilla couple stuff like that." He stood up, his cup in hand and made his way over to you, placing his hand on your head and messing up your hair. "You don't need doting crap like that anyway." He said, walking away back to the living room.

You watched him leave then gave him a glare of your own. "Well it'd be nice once in a while..." you mumbled.

Today you decided you were going to sweep this dusty dirty house up! Of course you had to ask if Isory would be so kind as to help you and of course he declined. So you huffed and got to sweeping the whole damn house yourself!

But first you had to set some mouse traps... no way were you going to sleep in a rat infested house! Do they like peanut butter or cheese better?

After you did so you were currently sweeping the kitchen. You backed out of the room and then turned around to the weird back room that was behind the kitchen. You turned and then froze.

The little door.

You dropped the broom.

You noticed that the box was clearly pushed to the side and even faintly around the old wallpaper you could tell that the door had been opened recently.

You slowly walked closer to it. There's no way it wasn't all a dream. There's no way...

You glanced behind to see if Isory was near but didn't hear him at all. You looked back at the door and crouched down to it. Slowly you reached for the doorknob and twisted it. It felt like a whispy gust of wind breezed through your hair as it did.

A glowing tunnel opened up before you just like it did the night before. You bit your lip feeling a little uneasy. But curiosity and the excitement of something new was simply too strong to ignore. So you began to crawl through the little door once again.

The tunnel this time felt like it was moving with you. Was there something following you? Or was the tunnel itself following with you? You couldn't be sure.

You opened the door to the other side and was greeted with the same environment you left from, only much less melancholy.

You looked around the room. "So it wasn't a dream..." you whispered.

"Ah! (Y/n) you came back!" You quickly turned and was met with a tight hug. You jumped in surprised. "I got worried you wouldn't show up again but I'm so glad you decided to!" The other Isory said as he nuzzled his head into your shoulder.

You hesitantly hugged him back. "Yeah- I'm sorry I thought this was all just a dream." You said, still rather unsure of yourself.

Isory pulled away and gently cupped your cheeks. "I forgive you (y/n). I mean how could I not?" He smiled.

You felt a little pitter patter in your heart. He was so nice to you... and he said something about how he only appeared when you were unhappy so that means he's meant to only help you right? Its just... you wanted to comforted so badly.

Without much thought your buried your head into the other Isorys chest and cling to him. This surprised him slightly but he quickly wrapped his arms tightly around you and let out a little chuckle.

"Did you miss me that much?" He asked. "That makes me so happy."

You hadn't hugged Isory in quite a long time so you just felt so peaceful.

He held you there for a moment, combing his fingers through your hair. You didn't see the look of confusion swirling in his eyes. You were just so...soft.

"Well?" Isory said, breaking the silence. "What would you like to do today? Garden? Or we could watch a movie and cuddle!"

You looked up at him from being buried inside his chest. Then gave him a soft smile. "Yes...I wanna do that!" Your hands tightened their hold on his shirt.

He gently patted your head. "Movie and cuddling it is then..." he said.

- - - - - - - - - -

The two of you were currently sprawled on the couch. The other Isory was on his back combing his hands gently through your hair while you laid on his stomach, snuggling into his chest. A small part of you still felt like this wasn't really right. Was it cheating? You really didn't want to think about things like that right now. You were enjoying yourself and it felt nice to get all cozy with someone. And it was with Isory after all. Just... the other one.

You reached your hand over to grab the glass cup with your tea in it but it slipped from your hands and broke when it hit the floor.

You quickly sat up. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!!" You cried. You were about to reach down and clean up but the other Isory stopped you.

"Oh, don't worry about it sweetheart." He said with a cute smile. "I'll get it."

You got off his lap as he reached down to pick up the pieces. A piece raked against his skin making him let out a small yelp in surprise.

You gasped and quickly grabbed a napkin, wrapping it around his finger before it could start bleeding everywhere. "Be careful Isory!" You scolded.

He awkward chuckled. "Sorry I scared you! I forgot human skin is so fragile..." he mumbled.

Human skin?

You pulled the tissue away to take a look at the wound and noticed his blood looked sticky. Actually, it didn't look like blood at all. It was more like black tar looking stuff. You furrowed your brows in confusion.

Isory noticed your look and quickly pulled his hand away. "Well... um, I'll just go throw this glass away now." He said, holding the pieces in his hand and disappearing down the hall into the kitchen.

You couldn't help but stare at the napkin with his blood on it. Why didn't he have normal blood? Does that mean...

He's not human?
