Spending at least an hour looking for the book father was desperate to look for made him grow more impatient by the minute. Looking through a book as he grunted "where is it?" slamming both fists into the ground, closing my book and placing it on the pile that was growing ever so slightly.
"What are we looking for father?" I asked looking at his slouched back. "The knowledge for the Eternal Night!" He growled before going through another pile, slamming a bookshelf to the ground. "There must be something here!" he roared in anger. Looking up as the lights began to flicker. Looking up in question rather then in awe. Gusts of winds howling in my ears as pages from books floating towards us.
We followed the pages before we both saw a book begin to flip pages on it's own. "Call to me." a very beautiful voice spoke as the book blew in flames, but not to ash. "And the key to Eternal Night, it is yours." the beautiful voice spoke once more with the echo in her voice. Looking at the book in father's hands. "Morgana." growling in satisfaction looking at the book.
"It is time to leave." he spoke grabbing me by the shoulders and directing me towards the exit of troll market. Draal quickly following us as we made our way out of Troll Market. My leg giving a little of a problem, but I'll deal with it. Walking fast to keep up with father as Draal stayed behind us watching our backs as we walked in the shadows of the forest as night began to show it's dark face.

The cave was larger than I thought. The cave was dark with nothing but fears to continue your path. "Pale Lady, I have come." father bowing down to one knee. Following his pursuit as he did so. Dust blew in our faces, shielding our eyes as her beautiful voice was filled with anger. "You seek magic. What makes you worthy?" she questioned my father as he looked forward once more. Keeping my head low.

"We seek the same thing. The Eternal Night." the water behind us turned purple, the cave beginning to glow. Markings all over the walls as her voice came to us once more. "Then we shall show you the way." she spoke in a calm voice. A giant skull with her form in a blaze as she spoke her words.
"We?" father questioned for us both. "My child and my Champion." she spoke the human child with her eyes black and orange just like mine and father's throwing Angor Rot's stone face at our feet. Father grabbed his head. "Angor Rot." he spoke looking at this in question. "He will rise again. Together you both will free me, and we shall bring the night Eternal." she spoke. The human female using the shadow staff to take her back to her human friends.
"If you do not mind me asking, Pale Lady." I asked keeping my head low. "Yes, what is it, my dear?" she asked with a calm and soothing voice. "How did I return from the dead when my brother did not?" my father looking at me with question. "Your story was not finished I needed you as a warrior by your father's side." she spoke already knowing the question. "So you brought me back to life?" I asked looking up at the flaming body. "Yes, Child." she spoke her green hand rising.
My body glowing orange as she healed me. "You will need all your strength, my dear when you take back the surface." her smile was beautiful just like her voice. "Thank you, Pale Lady." me and father rose, my body feeling stronger then before, stronger than when I absorbed the energy from the heart stone.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

The King is Back
Life in the forest is all that the unnamed boy has known for all his life. After being abandoned by his parents years ago, his only salvation is the martial art and books that his father left him. One day, after encountering an unforeseen incident, the boy learns of his true lineage in a secret kingdom which is more technologically advanced than the rest of the world. Important Note: This is going to be an evolving story as I write. I am sure many of you will have plenty of criticisms for the earliest/earlier chapters and some of them are justified but I intend to continuously improve as I progress through the story. I hope you stick with me until then. Features: Technology Gap, Mechs in a Fantasy World, Conspiracies and Mysteries, Epic Adventures! Note: Mechs will be featured but it is NOT the main thing about this story. There will be extended periods of time of a more grounded story rather than mech warfare. But worry not, there will also be times of full-on glorious mech battles so keep reading! Cover art from an artwork done by Adam Burn. I do not own any of the copyrights of the image. Clarent Saga: Chronicles
Based on my work on Saga of the Jewels, I've been hired by an indie game developer to write the novel for their 'novel + turn-based battles' game which is in Early Access on Steam. Of course, a 'novel + turn based battles' is a terrible idea for a game, which is why no other games like this exist, but hey, the developer is paying me. And if something's worth doing at all, it's worth doing as well as possible, so I am going to give this project my very best shot and try to make it as good as it can be. So if you read this, please give me feedback on the story to help me make it as good as it can be! Please note, for this story I have been given a pre-existent set of characters, character back-story sketches and a rough plot to work with. I also have to insert random battles into the narrative, have set characters appear in a certain order, and have the party fight fixed bosses in a certain order, all at fixed points! Please also note that this is a first draft. I will be editing and re-working this in the future and re-posting it. But I need helpful feedback, if anyone can give it. You can also find the game version of this on Steam by searching there for 'Clarent Saga: Chronicles'.
