Jiyong clicked the intercom while staring intently at the woman in front of him. “Taeyeon, cancel all my appointments for today.”

“But, Mr. Kwon–”

“Didn’t you hear me? Cancel it all!” Jiyong shouted.

“Of course, Mr. Kwon.” Taeyeon agreed.

“Now… who are you?” Jiyong asked again.

“I’m Dara. Park Dara. Don’t…” She looked at him, scrutinizing. “Don’t you remember me? Really? Not even… my name?”

“Do you really know me? Isn’t this some ploy from a rival company?” Jiyong sharply answered. “I am a very successful businessman, Ms. Park. How could I just trust whatever you say when I clearly heard myself what you thought of me?”

“I can see you’re still JerKwon.” The woman muttered, but it didn’t pass by Jiyong’s ears.

Suddenly, another memory flashed through his mind.

“Ji, don’t get angry at Taehwan! He was only helping me for my homework!” The girl pleaded him.

“Can’t you see he likes you?! Taehwan likes you! Everyone knows that, yet you still hang around him!” Jiyong angrily spat.

“Ji–”

Jiyong shook the girl’s petite frame. “Is that what you want, huh?! A lot of guys flocking on you?!”

The girl stared at him in disbelief, and she was crying in no time. She pushed him away. “Don’t bother me anymore, Jiyong. You JerKwon.” The girl said as she walked away from him.

That woke him up and he ran to her. “Baby, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” He hugged her while she tried to push him away, but he only embraced her tighter. “I was just… jealous.”

“JerKwon.” The girl weakly whispered.

Jiyong smiled. He knows that he’s already forgiven. “But you love this jerk.”

Jiyong stared intently at the girl in front of her. “Who are you? How did you know me?”

The girl rolled her eyes. “I told you, I’m Park Sandara. We met at the university, six years ago…”

“University?” Jiyong repeated.

The woman– Sandara– nodded. “We were… friends.” Her voice croaked upon saying the last word but she quickly composed herself. “We were friends, together with Bommie, TOP and Youngbae.”

“You know my friends?” He curiously asked. I don’t know if this girl is telling the truth or she just did a background check on me, he thought, unconvinced. But if she was just someone who was sent to bring me down… why do I remember bits and pieces of events when I see her? Why does it feel like it’s not the first time?

Dara’s brows furrowed. “You remember Bom, TOP and Youngbae?”

“Yeah.” He answered. “They’re my friends from the uni before I dropped out and went to US.”

Dara felt like someone just squeezed her heart and it was getting harder to breathe. Did he really hate me? Am I the only person he forgot?

“If we were friends… why can’t I remember you? Were we really friends?” Jiyong questioned. ‘Are we really just friends?’ He wanted to ask, but he remained mum.

Dara abruptly stood up. “I think I was wrong to come here.” She said in a quivering voice. “Just… forget about this… Mr. Kwon.” After saying that, she walked towards the door but Jiyong stood up and blocked her way.

“You have to come with me.” He told her seriously, and then he dragged her outside of his office.

When his office door opened, Dara saw Jiyong’s secretary was startled to see the both of them come out like that. “Taeyeon, I won’t be back today.”

Even before Taeyeon managed to answer, Dara was already dragged to the elevator by the confused Jiyong. The elevator doors open at every floor, which made it a really long ride, but whenever the employees see that it was their boss who looks very angry with an unsuspecting woman with him, they all retreat, saying that they’ll take the next lift.

That was the longest elevator ride for Dara. When they finally got off, she noticed that they were in the parking lot. The two of them walked over to a white Lamborghini Aventador and he opened the passenger door for her. Dara gingerly got in and Jiyong went to the driver’s seat.

None of them opened a conversation until they reached the place. Dara was surprised that it was a hospital. She turned to Jiyong. “Hospital? Why are we here?”

“I have to confirm something. Let’s go.” He said.

“Oh, Mr. Kwon! What a surprise. Is there anything I can do for you?” A doctor, whom Dara thinks was in his mid-fifties, greeted Jiyong warmly.

“I have something to ask you, Dr. Shin.”

“Of course, Mr. Kwon. Sit down. And your friend too.” Dr. Shin answered. The doctor sat on the chair behind his table while Jiyong and Dara sat on the visitor’s chairs. Dara complied, even though she was still clueless. She doesn’t even know why they were in a hospital! Was Jiyong sick? He looked familiar with the doctor.

“What is it that you want to know, Mr. Kwon?”

“It seems that… I’ve forgotten someone.” Jiyong glanced at Dara before looking back to the doctor. “A person from my past.”

The doctor’s brows met. “Oh. Did you only know that now, Mr. Kwon?”

“What do you mean, Dr. Shin?” Jiyong asked roughly.

“Well, five years ago, you were diagnosed with Dissociative Amnesia, Mr. Kwon. I personally told Mrs. Kwon about that myself, but then she told me that you won’t be needing the therapy.” Dr. Shin answered. “It was because of the damage which was made to your brain. But why is it that you’re only inquiring about it now? Are you having episodes, Mr. Kwon?”

“Episodes?” Jiyong asked.

“An episode is an event in which you couldn’t remember important personal information or even your own identity. Did that happen to you?”

“Well, not really. It’s just that, in a span of five years, there are times that I’m dreaming of a certain girl and I. I thought at first that those were only dreams which I’ve conducted with my subconscious but I met this girl earlier and… there were events which I remembered. It felt like… they were memories. Real memories, and not just something I made up.” He explained.

Dr. Shin nodded his head. “Well, is it the first time you’ve met this girl since the accident?”

Jiyong nodded. “Yes, I believe so.”

Dr. Shin turned to Dara. “Is this the first time you met him again?”

“Yes, doctor. The first time since five years.”

“Then, those “dreams” may not be just dreams, Mr. Kwon. They are real memories hidden, buried deep inside you.”

“But why didn’t you insist that I have a therapy five years ago?”

“Frankly, Mr. Kwon, you didn’t look like you were having an amnesia. You knew everyone else around you, and this is the first time in five years that you told me about your episodes. And since your mother didn’t insist on the treatment, we let it go. Besides, we watched over you for another two months even though you were in the States just to make sure that your Dissociative Amnesia doesn’t hinder you in any way.”

“I want it to get treated, Dr. Shin. I want those memories back.” Jiyong stated strongly.

Dr. Shin stared at Jiyong. He then looked at Dara before agreeing. “Very well then. Let’s go to Dr. Cheon. He’s a doctor who specializes in Dissociation Disorders.”
