《Blended (Beastars Cafe AU)》I Want You

"So that's the gist of it," Louis said.
"..."
"Um.. Hello?" Louis said through the phone, checking to see if Legosi was still there.
Legosi finally replied, stuttering, "I-I'm going to meet your father?"
"Yeah. Just don't mess it up okay?"
"But it's your father.. The CEO of the Horns Conglomerate.. how do I even act around someone like that?" Legosi said, his voice was full of panic.
"Just act like your usual self Legosi," Louis tried to comfort the wolf. "Actually, you're usually quite the nervous mess, so maybe try to act more calm and collected if you can."
"Well thanks for the reassurance," said Legosi sarcastically.
"Hey, at least I tried."
Legosi shifted on the sofa in his apartment, trying to get more comfortable, "Still.. This is pretty sudden. Why would your father want to meet me so suddenly?"
"Naturally because he found out about us," said Louis, sounding a bit annoyed.
"Did you not want him to?"
Louis crossed his legs and sighed, "Not really no, but he was going to find out eventually anyway. Now I just hope he won't force us apart or something.."
Legosi's ears flickered, "Why would he want to do that?"
"Well.." Louis rubbed the behind of his neck. "I'm afraid he'll do that because maybe he got another engagement set up for me. I'm sick of it to be honest."
"I see.." Legosi sounded disappointed, his ears drooped.
"But he usually orders me to cut things off with my partner instead of inviting them for dinner, so maybe he got something else planned.. I don't know."
"..." Legosi quietly listened to the deer rambling.
Louis leaned back on his chair, now looking at the ceiling of his room, "Well whatever the case is, we just need to get ready."
"Mmhmm," Legosi hummed and nodded.
Louis yawned, "I'm getting sleepy, I'm gonna head to bed early tonight."
"Okay, good night Louis."
"Good night, sweetie."
"S-Sweetie?!"
Chuckles came through the phone before the deer hung up, leaving Legosi red in the face.
Legosi put away his glasses on the table in front of the sofa then plopped face down on the couch and groaned, "Uggh, gosh darn you Louis.."
Jack walked in from the kitchen, carrying a plate of sandwiches, "Legosi~ I made your favorite egg sandwiches!"
"Mmmpph" Legosi's answer was muffled by the sofa under him.
Jack put down the plate on the table and sat on the chair next to it. The wolf seemed down suddenly, his tail wasn't even wagging like usual after hearing about the sandwich, "Hey, what's wrong? Did something happen?"
Legosi turned his head to face Jack, his head now laying sideways, "..I'm going to meet Louis' Father this Friday.."
"W-Wait really?"
"Yeah.. I don't even know where to start.."
"Hmm.." Jack stroked his chin. "Well first you need to dress for the occasion!"
Legosi's face contorted into a look of horror. Dress for the occasion? He was going to meet the CEO of one of the biggest companies and the best he could offer was some button up shirt and jeans, no suit or anything of the like.
Jack noticed Legosi's reaction and frowned, "Aaaaand you don't have anything to wear don't you?"
Legosi nodded.
"I shouldn't have been surprised to be honest, it's you we're talking about.." Jack reached for his phone on the table and started typing something.

"What're you doing?"
"Calling Dom, I'm sure he can help," Jack replied, his eyes still focused on his phone.
"Dom? Oh no.. He won't shut up if he found out I'm in a relationship, especially with someone like Louis.."
"Oh relax, you weren't planning on keeping you and Louis a secret right?"
Legosi sighed deeply, "No.. He's still going to be annoying though.."
"Hey, Don't you want to appear the best you can? Dom's a great tailor. It's a small price to pay for a nice suit I think. "
"I guess you're right.."
Jack put his phone up to his ear, he spoke after a few rings of his phone, "Hey Dom!"
Legosi lay still on the sofa, waiting for his best friend to finish talking on the phone. He reached out to grab one of the sandwiches on the table and nibbled at it slowly.
"Also.. why the sudden need for a suit for Legosi?" Legosis's ears perked from the mention of his name by Dom.
"Well.." Jack started.
Legosi shook his head, forming an X with his arms. His mouth was still full with his egg sandwich.
Jack glanced at Legosi and smirked, "It's because.." Jack whispered the rest to Dom.
Legosi gulped the food in his mouth, "Goddammit Ja-"
"-LEGOSI GOT A BOYFRIEND?!" Dom's voice boomed through the whole room. "A boyfriend?! Legosi?! Finally!"
Jack winced and had to distance himself away from the phone, his ears ringing because of the sudden loud noise from the bird.
"See, I told you.." said Legosi.
Jack threw an annoyed look at Legosi before quickly getting back on the phone, "I know right? Took him forever."
Legosi glared at Jack, "Oh shut it Jack, I don't see you with anyone right now."
Dom heard Legosi's comment and chuckled, "He's right you know."
Jack became flustered, his face reddened slightly, "W-well what about you huh, Dom? I don't think I've seen you with anyone!"
"Kai," Dom answered curtly.
"W-Wait, him? Since when?!"
"A couple of months ago," Dom answered nonchalantly. "We just haven't told you guys yet."
"So who's taking forever now ?" Legosi smirked. "Everyone from 701 is also in a relationship you know, It's just you left."
Legosi didn't want to stop just yet. He put up his fingers as if he's counting, "Durham's with Miguno, Collot and-"
"I-I just haven't found the right animal for me yet okay!" Jack interrupted, not wanting to be embarrassed even more by the wolf.
Dom rolled his eyes, "That's what they all say."
"But it's true!" Jack pouted.
The bird laughed heartily, "I know I know. Anyway.. I can finish the suit before Friday. I'll even throw in a friend discount for you guys!"
"R-Really? Thanks so much Dom, we appreciate it." Jack said.
Legosi finished his sandwich. He yawned and glanced at the clock, "I'm gonna go to bed first, good night Jack."
"Good night Legosi!"
Jack and Dom continued to chat well into the night after the wolf went to his bedroom.
"By the way.. Jack, Who did Legosi get with? I'm curious." Dom asked.
"You probably won't believe it, but it's Louis. Louis the red deer"
"Louis the red deer?" Dom repeated. "Wait, you don't mean the Louis do you? The future CEO of the Horns Conglomerate?"
"That's him alright."
"Holy.. Legosi really struck gold here. I need to make the best suit I can for him, can't have him meet the future CEO and the CEO himself with a half-assed suit."
"Thank you Dom, and sorry for troubling you with this."
"No need to apologize! Besides, if Legosi tells Louis that I made his awesome suit then maybe I can get noticed or something!"
"Huh, you're right," Jack yawned. "I think we should stop now, it's getting pretty late. Good night Dom."
"Good night Jack!" The bird's voice was still chipper despite the time.
...
"Wow"
"What? I look bad, don't I?" Legosi looked back at the mirror on the wall and adjusted the tie of his suit.
"N-no you look great!" Jack eyed Legosi from top to bottom.
Dom really did a great job here. The wolf looked stunning, his grey furs contrasted well with the black suit, and coupled with the glasses... even Jack was getting a bit flustered just from looking at his best friend like this.
"A-anyway," Jack looked away from Legosi. "Louis was going to pick you up right? When will he come?"
"He should be coming anytime soon."
Legosi pulled out his phone and turned on the screen, "Oh, yup. He's here now."
"Alright, Good luck Legosi!" Jack gave a thumbs up with a big grin.
Legosi smiled back and walked to the entrance. He tried to appear calm for his friend, but his heart was beating a mile a minute. He wasn't ready, he wasn't ready at all to meet Louis' father. All kinds of scenarios came to his head, and of course most of them were bad.
What if he messes up in front of Louis' father and does something stupid? What if Louis' father rejects him? He certainly has the power to keep the wolf at bay from Louis if he wanted to with all the money that he has.
Legosi's thought continued to spiral through his mind before finally arriving at Louis' car in front of the apartment building.
The driver seat's window lowered, behind it was the deer wearing a black suit as well. He paused for a moment when his eyes fell onto the wolf, "Wow.."
Louis shook his head lightly to regain control and beckoned with his head, "C'mon, let's go."
"Y-yeah," Legosi walked around the car and entered the passenger seat.
Louis stepped on the gas and drove them to their destination.
"By the way, Legosi."
"Hm?"
"You better tell me where you get that suit later. I could use some of that."
"S-sure."
Looks like Dom did a really good job for Louis to want it as well. Legosi better paid the bird extra later, cause he would be able to see Louis in high quality suits too. And that was.. definitely something the wolf would enjoy.
...
It's been awhile since Legosi started the dinner with Louis and his father. No one was saying anything. The room was silent except for the sounds of the eating utensils they were using. And the silent butler standing there motionless, who was apparently named Yuta, just made things even more awkward.
Legosi picked his food with his fork and glanced around. Louis and Legosi were sitting next to each other while Louis' father Oguma was sitting alone on the opposite end of the table. It would've been all right if the table they were dining on wasn't so unnecessarily long. Oguma felt so distant when they were sitting like this.
"It seems I have been mistaken about it," Oguma's voice was sudden and loud. It startled the wolf quite a bit that he almost dropped his fork.
Louis however, was unphased, "What do you mean by that father?"
"That you were in a relationship," Oguma replied. "It seems like you actually made a friend instead."
Legosi looked at Louis, his faces clearly telling the deer that the wolf was confused.
Oguma continued, "Though I didn't expect you to be close with a carnivore."
Something clicked in Louis' head. This was his chance. If this was what his father thought, He can pass off Legosi as just a friend instead. That way he could still be close with Legosi, albeit all their.. Lovey-dovey time would need to be in private. The only problem was the wolf himself, he just needed to make sure he won't blabber out anything bad.
"I wanted to explain that to you back then father," Louis glanced at Legosi and made a shush gesture while Oguma wasn't looking. "I wanted to say that I just made a friend and that I was not in a relationship, but I was afraid you were just going to insist that I was lying.
Legosi felt a twinge at the pit of his stomach, and it wasn't from the food that's for sure. He knew why Louis was saying this, but if it meant he could still be Louis then so be it.
"I'm sorry that you thought that Louis," Oguma said before taking another bite from his food.
"At least it's all cleared up now," Louis continued to eat as well.
Oguma looked at the wolf who has been very quiet throughout the whole dinner, "So.. Legosi was it?"
"Y-yes?" Nervous sweat ran down Legosi's face.
"What do you see in my son?"
Legosi tilted his head, "Huh?"
"Any reason why you became friends with Louis?"
"Oh, Well.." Legosi rubbed his nape and looked down. "I feel like I can just be myself around him.. Every moment we share together always feels special.. And He's soft, lovable, and cute, and- ow! " Legosi was interrupted by a kick to his leg from under the table.
Oguma raised an eyebrow. That .. certainly wasn't the answer he was expecting. Were those really something that a friend would say?
"I-I'm sorry about that father," Louis' face was red and flustered. Of course the wolf just had to go say all those things. "He's just uh..doesn't think before he says things, yeah. He didn't mean anything more from what he said."
"Is that so.."
Louis breathed a sigh of relief.
The room fell silent again as they continued to eat.
"When you walked in Louis, I was afraid that you were actually in a relationship with a male wolf," Oguma said in between bites of his food. "But I'm glad that wasn't the case."
"Y-yeah.." Louis' gaze lowered.
"Now I don't have to worry about your next suitor, Azuki. I really hope you don't ruin this one and marry her Louis. It would be beneficial for all of us."
Legosi's grip on his fork tightened. If this continues, would he just be Louis' secret lover while the deer was married to someone else? Would the only time he would be able to show his love to the deer be behind closed doors?
"Understood father," said Louis.
The deer sighed, he was tired of having this kind of conversation with his father. Maybe he should just give up and marry this one. That way he wouldn't have to deal about this anymore.
Legosi took the chance to glance at Louis. The deer's brows were furrowed while his lips frowned
The wolf's mouth started moving on it's own, "Do you think Louis is happy with that?"
Oguma's gaze moved to Legosi, "What did you say?"
"L-Legosi, what are you doing!" Louis whispered hastily.
Legosi ignored Louis and kept going, "Can't you see that your son doesn't want that?" He wasn't saying this just for Louis' sake, it was also because the deer was his, and he was not going to share him with anyone.
"And how would you know that?" Oguma's gaze on the wolf intensified. It was so sharp it felt like it could pierce through the wolf.
"Because he told me." Legosi didn't realize it but he was raising his voice. "He's sick of- oompfh! "
Louis clasped the wolf's mouth shut with his hands, "I-I-I'm just a little annoyed about this that's all! Cause I didn't have good chemistry with the suitors you found so far and-"
Legosi pulled Louis' hands away from his snout with ease, "Don't stop me. You clearly don't want it. I don't want it"
"Don't be stupid you dumb wolf, He can just hire bodyguards or whatever to keep you away from me if he thinks you're a bad influence!" Louis said in a hurried whisper.
Oguma furrowed his brows, "Why do you care so much about this, wolf? This isn't any of your business."
"It is if it involves Louis!" Legosi clenched his hands into a fist as he spoke.
"You're just his friend. You don't have to be involved in every part of his life," Oguma argued back
Legosi didn't hesitate, "Well I'm more than just his friend!"
"What?" Oguma's eyes widened slightly
"Legosi don't-"
"-I'm in love with your son!" Legosi shouted.
Everything in the room stopped.
"And I won't let you marry him off to someone else!"
"..." Everyone in the room was silent, trying to take in everything that just happened.
Louis dropped his head in defeat, bracing himself for what to come.
"So this is why you were so against it," Oguma was the first to speak. "I was willing to let it go. But it's far too dangerous if you're actually in a relationship with this-"
"I won't hurt him," Legosi interrupted. He stood up, his hands on the table, "You heard me before, I love being with your son. I can't bear to be without him. I would do anything for him, even if it cost me my life."
Louis hid his face behind his hands, his face was burning up. He was happy hearing these words from the wolf, but it was going to get torn apart by his father anyway. It's just going to hurt more if he keeps his hopes up.
"..." Oguma gazed into the wolf's eyes, as if he was evaluating him. "..Did you really mean what you said?"
"Of course I did!" Legosi said with conviction as he gazed back.
"..You do know who you're speaking to, right?" Oguma replied.
"Yes, and I don't care."
A few seconds of silence flew by as they stared into each other.
"And you Louis? Are you okay with this wolf?"
"H-huh?" Louis looked up from his hands.
"Do you believe what this wolf said to be true?"
"Y-yes.." Louis stood up as well. "I-I mean, yes! Of course I do! And.. and.. and I feel the same way.. " The deer whispered the last part of his sentence.
"Heh," Oguma let out a short breath and smirked. He grabbed his phone and started tapping. After a few moments he pressed it up against his ear.
Both Legosi and Louis stared curiously. Legosi turned his head to Louis, "W-What's he doing?"
Louis shook his head and shrugged, "I.. I don't know."
"Hello?" Oguma started talking to his phone. "It's me, I want to book a suite room of a 5 star hotel for 2."
"Huh?" said Legosi and Louis in unison.
"Yes, for a week." Oguma hung up and put his phone back onto the table. He looked at the two animals across the table, "You two are staying there."
...
"I can't believe your father just rented this for us for a full week," Legosi looked around the suite room the deer and the wolf were in. "I thought he would be mad, but he did this instead."
Louis lay down face up on the sofa, crossing his arms behind his head, "It might be because of.."
"Because of what?" Legosi asked as he walked in the bathroom. "O-oh wow.. Are those rose petals in the bath?" The wolf said to himself.
"I don't understand it myself really.." Louis stared blankly at the golden chandelier hanging above him. "My father always spends a lot of money on me whenever he's proud of me or angry with me, so this might be either of that."
"Well that's.. Unique," Legosi was finished with looking around the room and was now walking toward Louis. He sat next to Louis' head and gazed down to his side to meet the deer's eyes, "Is it stupid if I believe this is the former of that?"
Louis snorted. He reached up and ruffled Legosi's cheeks, "So you mean he's proud that I have someone like you as a boyfriend?"
"Well maybe?" Legosi closed his eyes and relaxed into the deer's touch. "At least I hope so."
Louis smiled, one of his hands went from ruffling his cheeks to patting the wolf's head, "Let's just stop worrying about this for now."
"Mmm~" Legosi leaned into the touch even more, his tail wagging back and forth uncontrollably behind him. He gently held the arm on his cheek and opened his eyes slowly, "I love you Louis."
Louis' hands paused, his face heated up, "I-I.." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to form his words in his head. Finally he opened his eyes again and smiled, "I love you too Legosi."
