It's been three days since we got back from Aspen.

Ethan and I have been civil. We didn't argue or fight. We've also helped each other in some projects, which was very surprising. Currently I was heading to work because I'm trying to nail down a very important client, Neil Burke, which not only will help in skyrocketing our companies in terms of reputation but will be beneficial as the project is in one of the most central part of the city.Plus, the man has a reputed name--the biggest in the business. If we get this contract we're set.

Chris had texted me beforehand asking to meet up which is very strange as we never really hangout together. I hesitantly walked over to him at the restaurant.

"Hey." I smiled at him as I sat on the chair opposite to him.

"Hey, Skylar. I know I called you out of the blue but I just needed to talk to you and I couldn't really say this over the phone."

"Sure, no problem.What's the matter?"

"Last night I asked Em to marry me." Oh ,no. I can predict what she would've said. "She said no."

"Oh, Chris. I'm so so sorry." I held his hand.

"She said she is not sure about us right now as she might have feelings for someone else." I know that someone else. He continued. "She said that the distance has definitely taken a toll on us and I have been very distant. What she doesn't understand is that I didn't mean for all of this to happen. Skylar, I cannot just let her go. Do you think I can win her back?"

I cannot give him false hope. Em has been unhappy for the past few months so I cannot blame her either.

"Chris, I don't know what to say. What I do know is that this is ultimately Emilia's decision.I cannot do anything, I'm so sorry. Me meddling in between the two of you will only make things worse."

"I understand." He nodded his head, on the brim of tears. I hugged him.

"Take care." With that I walked out.

"Hi , Emilia. I was hoping you could join me for dinner today." She had picked up after the second ring.

"Yeah, for sure. I need to tell you something really important as well."

"Alright, see you at my place around 8."

"Kay, bye!" She hung up.

As I reached home I gave Madeleine and off to prepare everything myself.

I freshened up and slipped into a pair of jeans and a black cami top.

"Smells really good in here," I turned around and saw Ace. Let's just call it a coincidence that he's here the same night that I invited Emilia over.

"Hey, Ace. Would you like to join me and Emilia for dinner?"

"I'm sorry Skylar, some other day. Ethan and I are heading out for drinks. You guys should come."

"Oh, no. You enjoy your boys night, we can wait for an hour then we'll have dinner."

"Okay then, I'll come back with Ethan in an hour for dinner." I smiled at him.

"Let's go." Ethan walked out in a black turtleneck. I swear even an Abercrombie model is going to fail if they stand in front of him. He was fixing his watch and then he looked upwards, directly at me. He started walking in my direction and kissed my cheek , to put up a show in front of Ace and then whispered, "Get that jaw up from the floor."

Oh lord, has my mouth been hanging like that since he walked out? I just cleared my throat and backed away as his familiar scent was overwhelming me out of my senses.

"Get home soon, honey. I'll be waiting." I gave him a tight smile. He just shook his head with a knowing smile and went out with Ace.

Just then my phone rang, "Sky! Sky, he's here and trying to---- umphh."

"Emilia?! Em?!" I dropped my phone and ran towards the elevator, having no time I rushed down the stairs and when I reached the parking space I saw a crying Emilia in Ace's arms and struggling Chris, stuck in a headlock by Ethan.

"Hello, 911? We have an intruder. Yes, thank you." Ethan was talking on the phone with his other hand as if he wasn't holding a man in his other. I ran towards Emilia and she came in my arms, sobbing.

I stroked her hair and talked to her calmly ,"Em , honey. It's me, calm down. Shh, it's okay.Everything's fine." I was tearing up looking at her like this but I needed to control myself.

"Who the fuck do you think you are? Getting in here and forcing yourself on someone?" Ethan was angry, this was the very first time I heard him yelling.It caused me to flinch.

The police came in shortly and took everyone's statement. They went away with Chris and we went back to the apartment.

"Would you like to tell me what happened now?" I asked Em as I extended a glass of water towards her, she refused it.

"I was just coming in and locking my car when he appeared out of the blue. I asked him what is he doing and he just started begging me to take him back. I told him I need some time and space to think about it and then he started getting violent and almost forced himself on me.I couldn't think straight and just started sobbing."

"I think you should take some rest." I suggested.

"No, Sky. I'm fine now. I'm just hungry. Oh and please don't tell this to Asher."

I nodded solemnly, I knew he never really liked Chris.

"You know, he proposed to me last night? After I turned him down I was having second thoughts but now I think I made the right decision."

"I know, he met me this morning. He told me you had feelings for someone else."

She blushed, "It's Ace. I don't know why but I just feel this pull towards him.In Aspen I knew, I couldn't cross the line as technically I was still dating Chris. But I never felt like that with Chris what I felt with Ace."

I just gave her a tight smile ,"Well , maybe you should think about it and whatever you decide is good for you. Now let's go have some dinner."

"Yeah, but I still need to talk to Chris."

I opened my mouth but she stopped me , "And before you say anything, however wrong his actions were tonight, I loved him. And no one can change that, both of us need closure."

I agreed and nodded.

Dinner was a short affair, afterwards Ace decided to drop Em home.

Ethan and I made ourselves comfortable in the living room when both our phones pinged with a notification.I looked up at him at the same time he did.

"Oh my god, I cannot believe this. Is it true? Pinch me."

"Yes, Skylar it is!" He jumped as he pulled me into a hug and twirled me around. We got Neil Burke's project and visibly both of us couldn't believe it.

He put me down and we locked our gazes together.This is the happiest I've ever seen him.

"By the way, I never thanked you for saving Emilia today." I whispered looking into his eyes.

"You don't have to, it's what anyone would do." He said softly without braking my gaze, he took one step forward and surprisingly enough I didn't back up. We were so close. Closest as we've ever been.

He crashed his lips on to mine. The energy and passion of the kiss perfectly balanced it's softness. We were so lost in the magical moment that it was after a minute and a half that he broke away, "Skylar breathe." he said looking at me and smiling and I took a huge breath at that.

I didn't realise when we came into the kitchen in all the haze. He lifted me up and put me on the counter as if I weighed nothing. Continuing his sweet torture he slowly moved down from my lips to my neck and finally to my collar bone. He started taking off his shirt so I held his hand.

"Not here." I breathed out and he understood as he carried me up the stairs like a feather and we were finally in his room.We didn't waste any time as we jumped into the bed.He was hovering above me as I pulled on his hair and sucked his jaw. As he took the lead, I took my top off and unbuttoned my jeans.He followed suit.The bedsheets smelled like him, pine mixed with our natural musky scent.

It was heavenly.

He looked into my eyes as if seeking for permission and I smiled at him and smashed my lips against him. He very slowly moved down kissing me all over and then he kissed the starting of my cleavage. I was moaning, hard. I didn't even know when and how he managed to unhook my bra and throw it off.

He gave me his signature devilish smirk as he got up and went towards the little freezer and pulled out the ice tray. He took it in his mouth and made his way back over. I looked at him biting my lip, waiting for what's next.

"Close your eyes." I obeyed him without hesitation and then I felt a cool and tingly sensation being slid over from my shoulder right through my navel to my inner thigh, I jolted at the sensation as he held me in place.

I opened my eyes and the words fell out of my mouth,"Ethan , please." It was too much , I needed him inside me , now. He got back to his earlier position and pulled out a foil packet from his pocket.Tearing it off with his teeth, he slid on the latex to his length, which seemed endless.

I bit my lip at the sight and hestarted kissing me as he slid into me. I was amazed at his length and initially afraid, but all it gave me was pleasure.

"Oh, god." He breathed out as I worked on his neck. We slowly fell into a rhythm going in sync and the room was filled with nothing but pleasureful moans.It felt like forever when my insides tightened, "Ethan, faster."

"Skylar I-" he didn't complete his sentence as we both climaxed together.

After we were done, he laid beside me.Holding me close. "That was wonderful.'' I said as I looked up at him.

"I know right?" He said as he kissed my forehead.

"Still cocky, I see." I giggled. He didn't counter argue but pulled my lips to his , savouring every taste. Oh dear, this was going to be a long night.

"I still can't believe we got that project." He said in between kissing me, still out of breath after our second round.

"I know, I couldn't believe it , either."

"Working on this, together. It's going to be very distracting now." He smiled at me as he said that.

"Oh really?" I smiled back as we tangled up in our sheets.

It was a beautiful morning as the sun rays fell upon us I glanced at the clock and it flashed 7 am. We had to be in the office in two hours, that's plenty of time. I looked over at Ethan as he was sleeping holding me so tight. Our legs were tangled together but I had to get out. I wanted to prepare breakfast before the daily routine stole away our private moment.

As I got up and started tiptoeing around I could feel the pain down there. I looked around and was amazed at the unreachable corners our clothes were thrown, I grabbed Ethan' shirt and wore it.

When I got back with a glass of juice, he was already awake."Morning, sunshine!" I smiled at him, sarcastically.

He got up and kissed me, "Morning , babe." he smirked. Hearing 'babe' from Ethan and that too in his raspy voice, it can kill anyone with a weak heart.

"Here" I gave him the juice, he looked confused ,"I didn't have the heart to wake you but I didn't feel like whipping up breakfast after heavy 'exercise' last night." He just smooched me and drank it up.

We were at work and I got totally different vibes from Ethan. It was like he was shielded away from the entire world , but when he looked at me it was something else. He had held my hand the entire time under the table before the start of the meeting and whispered sweet nothings in to my ear. We also had a mini make-out session in the elevator.

Neil Burke entered and we greeted him with a smile. This guy seemed familiar. He's the one who Bianca came to the merger party with. That's weird how did I not recognise him there? Ethan did not have any recollection and we went on explaining him the details. He then laid out his planned and cross-overs were made.

"We hope we don't disappoint you Mr.Burke." I said as I shook hands with him.

"Oh, that won't be a problem. I know I chose the best of the best." He replied as he smiled.

That night, we celebrated again.
