After a couple hours of arguing about where I'd sleep, Daniel finally arrived at the conclusion that I can't go home and I can't sleep on the streets so there I was wearing his baggy grey pullover hoodie as we walked to his families home.

He told me he could handle Darius but who knows. Darius could kill me on sight. I don't mind though, like I said, I made peace with myself when bleeding out in my second foster home's bathtub with a slit throat and an empty pill bottle by my side.

 I snap out of thoughts when something sharp and pointy comes flying towards my head but at last moment Daniel catches it and throws it back at the person who threw it who happens to be a little girl.

The little girl has short light blonde pigtails, light blue eyes, almost like Daniels but hers are lighter, dimples, freckles, pale white skin, she's wearing a black dress, and she looks to be six or seven.

The little girl catches it straight away and she drops it on the ground before running over to Daniel and jumping into his arms, "Dannyyyy! Kendra was being mean!!!"

Aw she called him Danny, that's cute!

Daniel motions for me to follow before he begins to walk up the steps of the house which is different than the house we were for the first time. It's a white three-floor house with pillars and everything. The entire yard is surrounded by amazing tall green hedges and the yard is even green too, despite it being winter.

The second I step inside I'm surrounded by pale skinned people of all ages. 

Daniel hands the little girl to another boy before standing by my side, "Family of mine, this is Riley, the human with disgusting blood."

The first person to embrace me is middle-aged women with dark brown hair a couple inches past her shoulders and brown eyes like poop. She looks like the type of person to send a meal back and request a full refund if they're missing one fry, "Hi sweetie, I'm Karen. It's a pleasure to meet you!"

It takes all the strength in my body not to burst out laughing at her name. 

Next, it's a guy who looks to be in his early forties with short black hair, light green eyes, and a black thin circle beard surrounding a charming smile, "Riley, I'm Mark Anthony."

He sort of looks like a biker, I mean he is wearing a black leather jacket.

After him, the boy who grabbed the little girl waves slightly, "I'm Trip and the little girl is Abigail."

He has natural red hair that he dyes black but his roots are showing, light brown eyes, freckles, and yellow stained teeth.

The last person in the room is a guy brooding in the corner of the room who I instantly recognize as Darius so I slightly move closer to Daniel.

Everyone has pale white skin and the same look in their eyes when they look at me directly. 

"Uh I'm Riley," I say pulling on a fake smile to help ease the awkwardness.

Daniel looks down at me for a moment before grabbing my hand lightly, "We'll be upstairs in my room, she thinks its been great to meet you all." 

I nod in agreement as Daniel drags me through the foyer and up two flights of stairs to the attic. Unlike creepy attics in horror movies, this attic has painted light blue walls, a large king-sized bed with a purple comforter on it and tons of stuffed animals, a dresser in one corner of the room, a fuzzy dark blue carpet, and one circular window at the front side and the back side of the room.

"Okay, don't judge too hard about the stuffed animals," Daniel says sitting down on the swivel chair near the dresser.

"No explanation?" I ask looking at the bed, taking in the fact there are over a hundred stuffed animals from bears to unicorns to Pokemon plushes, "Actually, I don't need one. They're really cute."

Daniel turns away when a bit of color is introduced into his cheeks. Daniel was blushing, well the equivalent of vampire blushing.

Daniel and I talked and talked for upwards of six hours that night about completely random things. Like the fact, the only people he's actually related too are Darius, Abigail, and Mark Anthony. Darius is his older brother, Abigail is the younger sister, and Mark Anthony is the uncle.

They were all transformed like three hundred years ago during some war or something like that. I don't know though, I hate history.

"You know something I haven't asked you yet is how do you not burn in the sun?" I ask clutching one of the stuffed animals to my chest as Daniel sat up from where he was lying down next to me.

"I'd love to tell about that but if you know too much my brother will want to kill you even more then he already does." Daniel says standing up before walking over to his dresser.

After opening up a few drawers he pulls out a baggy white shirt and his smallest basketball shorts before tossing them at me from across the room.

"Those will probably fit," Daniel says making his way towards the stairs, "You should get some sleep Riley."

"What happened to all the threats and stalking?" I ask crawling out of bed before pulling his sweater off.

Daniel smiles and rolls his eyes before making his way down the spiral staircase.
