When I woke up I was somewhere warm and comfy. At first, I thought I was dead but after I opened my eyes I realized I was in a boy's room on a king sized bed that smelt kind of like cotton candy.

After a moment of looking around, I still had no clue where I was. It wasn't until the vampire walked in that I knew where I was.

"Vampire," I say rubbing my forehead.

"Human," He says sitting down at the edge of the bed, "How are you feeling?"

I shrug before taking a deep breath, "Fine, just a little confused. How'd I get here?"

"Well, I was sucking the blood out of some dumb bimbo cheerleader who wanted to have sex with me and then I heard your voice so I got curious and there you were crying without a jacket or warm pants on so I took you home like a stray puppy."

"Oh my god, what time is it?!!!" I screamed jumping out of the bed.

"Twelve in the afternoon." The vampire says shrugging all nonchalantly.

"But it was four when I left my house yesterday!" I say practically bolting to the door but the vampire gets there faster and stands there in front of me, "Get out of my way! I need to get to school!"

"Why don't you just ditch and spend the rest of the day with me?"

I shake my head quickly before trying to push past him, "My foster dad with be angrier with me then he already is if I skip class again."

Some point in the last week he called me and screamed and screamed through the phone at me about ditching a few periods that one day. I'm pretty sure he busted my eardrum.

"I can kill your dad if you want. Then you won't have to worry." The vampire says stepping back and leaning against the door.

A man bursts into the room wearing only black pants, pushing the vampire aside, "No Daniel, you won't kill anyone."

This guy has long almost pitch black hair that's pulled up into the ponytail, light blue eyes like Daniel, pale white skin like Daniel, and he has abs. Amazing abs. Honestly, he's cuter than Daniel, who's cute but he's no Justin Timberlake.

"This is Riley?" Abs man asks with a cocky smile, "So Riley, Daniel tells me you have bad blood. How about I see for myself?"

Before abs man can even take another step forward Daniel speed runs him into the wall by the dresser, "Don't touch her."

Abs man speed runs Daniel into the wall before whispering something in his ear that I can't hear but it pissed him off because Daniel sends him flying through the window that's covered by a large curtain.

"We should go," Daniel says running over to me and grabbing my hand before speed running me through the house and down the street, "Darius likes killing human's who know about us. Like me, he doesn't care out our parent's wishes.

"So I can go to school?" I ask when we finally stop running.

"What's your problem with school?" Daniel asks jumping up on the white picket fences we're standing by, "I've never met a girl who's wanted to go to school over spending the day with me."

"You wouldn't understand," I say as I kick a rock that's near my foot at the fence.

Daniel jumps off the fence and lands about an inch away from my face, "What wouldn't I understand? You can trust me you know."

"Okay, my foster dad put me in the hospital last time I ditched and you know what? It was one period! He'd do a lot worse then break a few ribs if I miss any more school!" I say looking down at the ground so I don't break out crying, "I was in the hospital for two cracked ribs, a fractured wrist, a concussion, four broken fingers, my other wrist had a sprain, and to top it off my voice box was damaged."

"Why are you still living with him then!??!" Daniel basically screams at me.

"Because I had nowhere else to go, Daniel," I say as I begin sobbing, "I'm sixteen! No one wants to foster a teenager who's tried killing herself, got kicked out of four other homes, and has a juvenile record.

I hate spilling my guts to him but he can't tell anyone because if he does I might just have to tell someone about the whole vampire biting me thing.

"I'm gonna kill him!" Daniel says as his fangs come out.

"Why?" I ask regaining any part of composure I had.

Daniel's fangs retract, "What?"

"Why would you kill him?"

Daniel's face softens, "Because he hurt you... why don't you want him dead?"

"Because I don't want his real kids to end up in the system like me. He'd never hurt them so I know they're fine."
