Nine months has passed since I fell into Lance's hands, six months since I was introduced to Osamu. In the time that has past, I have gained their trust and favor so much that they insist on taking me everywhere with them. They don't even bring Marcy with anymore (much to her anguish). I'm not sure why. Perhaps it is because I'm much calmer and quieter than Marcy. After the first few exhibitions, I finally got the hang of things and put on a calm, neutral face. Marcy, even though more familiar with our two masters, was still a bit squirrely. She probably made Lance and Osamu nervous because of the eyes she'd catch. Either way, going out was the highest privilege which I enjoyed relishing in.

I sat on the couch, my hands in my lap and my face up, watching Osamu scurry around the house with a radiant smile.

"Do we have to go for a walk?" Lance complained from my side.

"Quit asking questions!" Osamu bickered at Lance, "Just have a nice little walk with me and Vigil this morning!"

Lance just sighed and shifted his weight around. "Fine. Are we going now?"

Osamu smiled cutely and nodded, placing his gentle hands on Lance's hips as he pressed a loving kiss on his forehead. "Yes. Let's go."

That was my cue to take a stand.

As I came up, my shirt's sleeves flowed a little in the air around me. Osamu had only returned from Japan a few days prior, and he returned with all kinds of presents for Lance and I. I was actually already wearing a few gifts.

I wore black, skinny jeans that rose just high enough that they rested just above my belly button. Tucked into said jeans was a feather light silk shirt that had a white base, but at the ends of the long, flowing sleeves, was a light grey fade. On the front was a brush stroke pattern of what looked like tall swamp grass. On the back was the same swamp grass, but with a graphic of a crane to go with it. I couldn't wear a necklace or a choker because the collar of the shirt buttoned up around my mid neck, buttons going down my shoulder and pectoral.

Beautiful, diamond earrings dangled from my earlobes. On my wrist and wrapped around my fingers were bracelets and rings of silver, gold, diamonds, and rubies (to match my red eyes and cherry lips).

Osamu turned to me with a big smile, reaching out to rub his soft, manicured thumb on my lush lips. "Vigil, sweetie. You get hot so easy. I don't want you panting up a storm, so why don't you go get that pretty, big fan I got you?"

My lips curled into a smile and I gave Osamu a polite nod and then scampered off back into my room to retrieve my fan.

In our room, Marcy sat on the bed, hands on her face as she sobbed into them.

Feeling awkward, I just trotted past her, snatched up my fan, and then tried to trot out.

Tried.

Before I could run out the door, Marcy grabbed my wrist and yanked me back, to which I let out a little squeak.

"!!!"

I whirled around to look at her with slightly large eyes. "Marcy.. There's nothing I can do about it. Maybe just.. Ask if you can go..."

We both know how that would end.

"Sai!! Let's go!" Lance beckoned from the back door.

Marcy and I stared at each other for a moment in deafening silence. Her eyes were fear stricken, like if she let me go, it would kill her.

With a scared little gulp, I wiggled my wrist out from her crumbling grip. "I have to go..."

I skittered away from Marcy and met Osamu at the back door, going through it with a ducked head.

"Sorry..."

"It's okay, sweetheart. We're just excited to go." Osamu consoled with a wink.

Osmau closed the sliding glass door, and then as a collection, we all set off for the little pathway between the spruces, shaded and calm. The air wasn't as stuffy as it usually was since it hadn't rained for about a week and a half. Although, it was the middle of June, so it was a bit hot (about 83 degrees). However, with my big fan flexed and gently swaying back and forth, the breeze made it a bit more bearable.
