《1984》Chpt. 52

Lance and Osamu were in the living room. The TV was off. There weren't any sounds besides their talking and murmuring. It was quite calm, really. They both seemed so happy as they talked and occasionally kissed on the sofa.

I, however, was not in the living room. I was in my room on my floor. After they were finished with me, they put me back in there. I could hear them, though. I was a bit envious, honestly. Obviously, I didn't want to hold a conversation with them. Not my place, but I did want to be out of my room.

They pulled away from the kiss with a light smack, giggling a little after.

"I don't want to go back." Osamu mumbled to Lance.

"Well you won't have to. Not for a while, anyway." Lance droned back.

"I know.. But I'm talking about forever." Osamu giggled. "You know~, if you'd just-"

"I'm not selling my life here." Lance snapped. I was surprising to me, but at least now I found Lance's boundary regarding Osamu.

Osamu paused a little. "..I'd never ask that of you."

"Then what?"

"You don't have to sell anything! Just.. open up a second branch in Tokyo with me and give your place here to someone under you!" he chirped.

"Out of the question."

"Why~??"

"My whole life is here and if I hand my position off to anyone, they will run it into the ground. Everything I've worked hard for."

It.. felt like Lance's reply should have been a bit more heartfelt, but, then again, that was Lance.

"No offence, but didn't you say that your dad gave it to you in his will?"

Uh oh...

"Out of the question." Lance dismissed, standing up.

"Wait! Babe.." Osamu pleaded with him. "Sit back down, baby. I'm sorry. I was rude."

Lance sat back down, sighing.

"I'm sorry, baby." Osamu murmured and lightly kissed Lance. "I know how much your livelihood means to you. I just hate leaving you for so long."

"I'm always here when you come back."

"Oh, I know. I just get so lonely, baby."

Lance chuckled through his nose. "Well, absence makes the heart grow fonder."

"Tsk, you're such an abusive boyfriend." Osamu razzed.

"Oh, well I think I'm good to you." Lance hummed back and gently kissed Osamu.

It was funny in a morbid way, because I knew for a fact Lance treated Osamu well.

"Oh? How do I treat you then?"

"Eh." Lance joked and giggled.

"Oh~! Why you~!" Osamu playfully bellowed back. "C'mere~"

All giggles, they kissed a few times and then pulled away.

Osamu patted Lance's leg.

"So," he started, "I think little Vigil is a wonderful addition, don't you?"

"Yes." Lance answered in a very definitive tone.

"Do.. Do you think he's ready to go out?"

'Out???'

Lance paused for a moment in contemplation. "Hm.. I never thought about trying it out. Why?"

"I just have a feeling he'd be a good boy for us."

"I see.. I suppose we could try it if you think it's a good idea."

"I'd want to bring Marcy, though." Osamu made sure, "If something happened, I'd want Marcy right next to Vigil to keep an eye on him."

"..Very well."

..Even though they were talking about me like I was a pet, in a way, it felt nice. Nice, like.. in some way, shape or form, they were starting to accept me. To accept me as a family member. That was.. unprecedented to me.
