《The Unknown》The initiation part 3 (plan b)

Later that night in the girls' room after lights out
Stacey's pov
"Carrie. Carrie. Hey, Carrie."
No response.
"Good, she's asleep. Nice plan, Lisa. You got us all grounded and Carrie still hasn't been initiated," I accused.
Lisa whines, "I know. I'm sorry, but my plan b is foolproof. I swear."
"Fine, let's hear it."
Lisa says, "We get Carrie to break the terms of our grounding and then Mike will spank her."
Julie yells, "That's not a plan! You're just stating a fact."
Lisa snottily replies, "Well, what's your brilliant idea?"
"The less you know the better," Julie states.
"Yeah, just follow our lead and do what we tell you," I say, even though I have no idea what Julie's talking about.
The next morning after breakfast
Mike's pov
"The four of you can spend the day cleaning your room, including the bathroom. I expect your beds made, clothes folded and put away, floors swept and carpet vacuumed, desks dusted and organized, wastebaskets emptied, and the toilet, shower and sink scrubbed clean. You have until 2pm. Any questions?"
They each respond, "No sir."
"Good. Get started now." After the stunt they pulled yesterday I'm in no mood to coddle them. They need to learn to take responsibility for their actions.
12:35pm in the girls room
Julie's pov
"Mike's going to be here soon and we still have a lot to do. Lisa, can you and Carrie start in the bathroom while Stacey and I finish dusting and vacuuming?"
Lisa answers, "Yeah sure. Come on Carrie." Lisa thinks to herself, this must be part of Julie's plan.
I start dusting while Stacey gets the vacuum.
"Make sure you clean the mirrors and the vanity," I yell, so they can hear me over the vacuum. I look at the clock, 1:55pm. "Don't worry we still have fifteen minutes," I lie.

I motion to Stacey to come help me and leave the vacuum running so Lisa and Carrie can't hear us. We start pulling their neatly made beds apart and throw some of their clothes on the floor. At 1:59pm Stacey shuts off the vacuum and we sit on our neatly made beds.
Mike knocks once and enters, just as Carrie and Lisa come out of the bathroom. Mike sees the mess before they do.
"Do you think this is funny?" He's glaring at Lisa and Carrie.
Both in shock, they try to muster a response of denial but Mike quickly silences them.
"I don't want to hear your excuses. I want the two of you in my room NOW!"
Carrie is about to burst into tears.
"But we didn't..."
"NOT. ONE. MORE. WORD." Mike is livid. Nostrils flared, forehead vein bulging, he points to the door.
Carrie and Lisa know better than to test his patience, so they quickly head out the door. Lisa realizes this must be the plan Stacey and I were talking about. Almost as quickly, she realizes Carrie should be the only one in trouble. Why did they set me up too? she wonders.
Lisa looks back, giving me a WTF look, to which I mouth silently, "That's for getting us grounded."
Mike follows us into his room and slams the door shut behind him. He removes his suit jacket, folds it meticulously and lays it gently on his bed. He loosens his tie, unbuttons his collar, and slowly rolls up his shirt sleeves, all without saying a word.
Lisa's pov
This does not bode well for us. I look at Carrie's frightened expression and recognize it as my own, not so long ago, as I anticipated my first spanking. I try to give her a reassuring look but I have doubts myself. To be honest, I'm not sure which of us has it worse right now. Carrie fearing the unknown or me knowing the pain we're about to endure. Definitely a lose-lose situation. Suddenly I'm jolted out of my self-reflection session as Mike breaks the silence.

"I don't even know what to say to the two of you." He throws his arms up in desperation as he paces. "You weren't in enough trouble yesterday? I'm so disappointed in you both," he says, folding his arms and shaking his head sadly. "You deliberately disobeyed me."
I can see Carrie is about to profess our innocence, so I quickly shoot her a warning glance and vigorously shake my head no. Thankfully, she stops. Anything we say at this point will only fuel the fire.
"Carrie, wait outside my door," Mike says, never taking his eyes off me. "You, come here."
As Carrie quietly closes the door, I stand in front of Mike trembling. He sits on the side of his bed and slaps his thighs with his hands. The sound makes me jump. He motions with his left hand over his lap. I choke back the tears and bend over his legs. He rests his right hand on the middle of my back.
"Your defiance has earned you thirty."
SMACK
The first one stings a little but he's just getting warmed up. My bottom's really feeling it by the twelfth one. Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen. Fuck. How does this hurt so much more than I remember? I guess getting punished for something you didn't do makes the pain less tolerable. Through strokes twenty-three, twenty-four, and twenty-five, I grit my teeth to keep from cursing.
"I want you to count these last five followed by sir," Mike states sternly.
I really hate this part. He hits so much harder and I'm always afraid of letting a few choice words slip as I count through the tears.
Mike's pov
I make sure these last five count. I want her to feel them tomorrow. I take my time so each one hits exactly the same place on the sit spot of her left cheek.
"Twenty-six, sir. Twenty-seven, sir."
I know I'm getting the desired effect because she's struggling to hold still on my lap.
"Twenty-eight, sir. Agghhh!"
She almost let something slip that time.
"Twenty-nine, sir."
"Next time I tell you to do something, it better get done. Last one."
"Thirty, sir."
I take her off my lap and stand her inbetween my knees. It's hard to watch her little shoulders shake as she tries to stop crying.
"I expect an apology," I state sternly.
"I'm sorry," she says, sniffling while trying to even her breathing.
"Don't let it happen again." I give her one more sharp swat. "Go to your room."

But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz

Everything has changed, from the new, impossibly massive planet that all now occupy to the terrain to the very rules of reality themselves. But what has changed the most are the people. It seemed as though Humanity was alone in the cosmos, but no longer, as new, monstrous races have been born from the flesh of those whom the Fog singled out. With the survivors rewarded for each altered former human they kill, along with each heroic (and villainous) act that they engage in, those who have changed are forced to run, hide, and try to fight back. But in a distant place, a single altered person stirs from her sleep as the Fog fades. With no Humans for hundreds of miles and a [Quest] that all other Altered share guiding her newly inhuman mind, the newly born serpentine but humanoid monster will have to fight for survival and dominance in a world hellbent on her death, with that violent, pathological hate coming not just from the remaining Humans.
