SONALI'S POV -

Our holidays are starting from tomorrow and I am so excited, I haven't gone home since so long because of a mission and now I am done with it finally.

"Sonaaa " Shahneel di was calling me to Subeer bhaiya's room.

"Haa di bolo." I said entering the room.

"Packing done?" Subeer bhaiya asked me.

"Yes Major." I playfully replied.

"Pehle you are coming to my house for one week." Shahneel di said.

"Kyun? I am done seeing your face since the past 6 months so whatever the reason is main tere ghar nahi aane wali. " I told her.

"Thik hain then dont come to my wedding." Di said.

"Hain? What wedding? Who's wedding?" I asked.

"Pata the ki tu bhool jayegi." Subeer bhaiya said.

"My wedding is next week, if you remember?" Di asked.

"We told you day before yesterday. at night." Subeer bhaiya tried reminding me.

"Ya now I remember, who are you getting married to by the ways?" I asked Shahneel di.

"My childhood friend, Anish." Di replied.

"Ya, you told me about him once, I remember." I said.

"You atleast remember something." Di said and I made a face.

"Di, but I cant come directly from her, I need to go back home for a day atleast or ma will kill me." I said.

"Okay fine but you are coming for all the functions, my bestie needs to be their in my wedding or else I will cancel my wedding." Di said.

"Oh please itna importance mat do yaar kal main ghar jaungi aur parso teri ghar, aur shaadi ke baad vapis mere ghar." I said.

"Kya ghar ghar khel rahe ho tum dono." Subeer bhaiya asked.

"You leave it, she is coming for the wedding." Di said.

"Then okay, so can we go sleep now we need to leave tomorrow morning." bhaiya said.

"You always want to sleep, come Shona lets dgo to our room." Di said and we went to our room, we both share the same room inn the cantonment and even in the missions we share the same tents because we trust each other and are really good friends now.

AFTER 2 DAYS -

SHUBMAN'S POV-

Its Shahneel di's wedding in 3 days and there is so much work left to do, it is mehendi today and then sangeet then haldi then wedding then reception, so much work and di came back just 2 days back from her duty. She is in the army, I never knew that she was so strong and brave until she told us that she wants to get into the army and she also did the training. Let me get back to work now.

I then went to the yard in the entrance of the house to get something and I saw a girl entering, she is looking really pretty, but she did not notice me at all and went towards the door and rang the bell. Shahneel di opened a door and hugged that girl and said, "Shonaaaaaa"

Her name is Shona? cute name it sounds more like a cliche pet name.

"Dii, you will strangle me like this with your hugs one day." That girl said and di left her.

"I missed you so much." Di said, is she an old friend of di?

"Di, we have been living in the same room since the past 6 moonths and you miss me." She said, this means that she is also in the army.

"Leave all this come in, the mehendi is today, Shubh kya kar raha hai wahan?" Di said and then asked me.

"Ek minute di mein aa raha hoon." I said and went to di.

"Shubh, she is my best friend Shona, I mean Sonali. She is also in the army, she is in Subeer and my unit only. Shona, he is Shubh, Shubman he is my brother, he is a cricketer I told you about him when we were watching that match remember?" Di introduced us and asked Sonali.

"Ya di, I remember." She reolied.

"Sachi? Otherwise you dont remember stuff even after I remind you so many times." Di said and Sonali started thinking something but did not reply.

SONALI'S POV -

Oh my god!! I finally met the crush of my life Shubman Gill, I never really expected to meet him cause I am in the army and he is a cricketer, we are poles apart, I did not even remember that he is Shahneel di's brother until di reminded me of him.

"Chalo lets go inside." Di said and we wnet inside, di introduced me to everyone and then she said, "Shubh, get the guest room ready for Shona and take her there."

"Di that room is already ready only." He told di.

"Then take her to that room." Di said, he came to pick my suitcase up and I said, "Chill, I am a soldier, I can pick this bag up on my own and take it to the room."

"Really? then go to the room also on your own. Why do I need to take you?" He said with a smirk.

"I dont know where the room is, tell me where it is and I will go on my own." I said and shrugged my shoulders.

"I will take you to the room come." He said and showed me my room.

After reaching the room he asked, "How do you manage sharing the room with Di in the cantonment?"

"What?" I asked him

" I mean she is so annoying, I had to share a room with her so many times and she starts ruing the whole room like it is her empire. I feel pity for Anish also, bechara." he said and we laughed.

"Thats true, she actually rules in the room par room ke bahar uski bilkul nahi chalti." I said.

"Seriously?" He asked me.

"Ya, there she follows all the rules outside the room and all day long she goes like, "Yes Sir"." I said and he was like shocked.

"Di ghar par mere order sun kar 'Yes sir' kahe toh maza hi aa jayega." He said.

"Yeh kabhi nahi hoga." I said and we laughed.

"The mehendi is at around 7:30, so please be ready by then." Shubman said.

"Ya I know, I will be ready in 15 minutes its already 6 anyways, so I can help you all with the arrangements." I said.

"Okay that will be fine."

AUTHOR'S POV -

All the arrangements for the mehendi are done and Sonali goes to change into the clothes she had kept aside for mehendi. When she comes down after changing she saw Subeer so she went and hugged him, Shubman was standing right in front of him looking at this he felt jealous but then he calmed himself thinking that Sonali is Subeer's junior so she knows him from before.

"Shona, when did you come?" Subeer asked.

"Bas aaj hi , around 4 pm." Sonali replied.

"Oh okay, ab jaa mehendi nahi lagani?" Subeer asked Sonali.

"Lagani hain par ek problem hain." Sonali said.

"Kya?" Subeer asked.

"After getting the mehendi done how am I supposed to eat? I cant survive without food for a whole night." She said and Subeer hit his head on his hand.

"How do you think Shahneel is going to eat?" Subeer asked.

"Jiju hain na, khana khila denge use." She said.

"Toh tera bhai yahan hain na, tere khane ka arrangement ho kya samajh." Subeer said, listening to the word bhai, Shubhman felt relived and Subeer noticed the change in expressions and knew what to do next.

"Shubh hain na, he doesnt need to feed anyone toh woh khana khila denga tujhe." Subeer said.

"Kyun? Aap booked hain kisike liye? Boliye bhaiya ji." Sonali teased and Subeer made a face.

"Ha hain koi, to apna kaam kar, Shubh you will feed her naa?" Subeer asked.

"Haan, but who are you booked for?" Shubman readily agreed and then teased Subeer who just made a face and left.

"Jao mehendi lagwa lo, fir humein samajh seva karne ka mauka milega." Shubman said.

"Samaj seva?" Sonali asked.

"Ha, feeding hungry girls." Shubman replied.

"How many girls are you going to feed?" Sonali asked shocked.

"He wont feed anyone, he doesnt like doing all that." Abhishek said popping out from literally no where and Shubman was internally cursing him.

"I am going to feed Sonali, after she gets the mehendi done." Shubman said glaring at Abhishek and Abhishek understood what this meant.

"Okay, hey bh-" Abhishek was going to say something and Shubman hit his back really hard from behind.

"Hey Sonali." Abhishek said and quietly left leaving the 2 of them alone.

"What happened to him?" Sonali asked as Abhishek left suddenly.

"Nothing, he is like this only." Shubman replied.

"Okay, I will get my mehendi done." Sonali said as she was going to leave.

Shubman was just standing in awe at all the time, Sonali was getting the mehendi done along with Shahneel, Simrat, Komal, Sania and few more girls. She was cracking jokes and keeping the mood light, Shubhman was totally lost in Sonali. Subeer and Abhishek were noticing all of this.

"Yeh toh gaya pura ka pura." Abhishek said.

"Haan, yeh toh dikh raha hai." Subeer replied.

After sometime Sonali was done with her mehendi and she was really hungry. She started searching for Shubman but could not find him, so giving up she went and tried drinking water without spoiling her mehendi. Shubman noticed this and went like she is so cute, her went towards her and asked, "Any help?"

"Nahi, tumhari toh ab nahi hi chaiya." She replied stubbornly and Shubman was thinking how someone cannot fall in love with her.

"Kyun kya hua?" He asked.

"I am searching for you since so long, I am so hungry you know. Where were you?" She asked and was looking very angry. Shubman laughed and brought his hands forward which had a plate full of food. Sonali went to take the food with her own hands but realized that she has mehendi on her hands so she started making cute faces for which Shubman fell and said, "All this is for you only sit I will feed you."

They sat and Shubman started feeding her.

"Can I call you Shona?" he asked.

"Kyun? Only special people can call me Shona." She replied with full attitude.

"Tum army log bahut attitude dikhate ho yaar. Anyways I find the name Shona too cliche." Shubman said.

"Woh army log mein Subeer bhaiya aur Shahneel di bhi aate hain. Aur if you find the name Shona cliche then call me Sonali who told you to call me Shona." She said.

"Subeer and di come first in that attitude list, I will call you Sona, Sonali is a very long name." Shubman declared.

"Look who is talking about along name." Sonali said with an eye roll.

"Me, you can call me Shubh if you want, I dont mind." He said with a smirk.

"Nahi, I wont call you by the name everyone calls you, I will call you Shubhi." Sonali said.

"Ab tumne mera naam bhi cliche bana diya, par thik hain Shubhi." Shubman said with a face and Sonali saw it and felt like laughng.

"Tumhe bhook nahi lagi?" Sonali asked.

"Nahi main baad main kha loonga." Shubman said.

"Chalo tum bhi khao." Sonali ordered, Shubman was still making Sonali eat. "I said that Shubhi start eating.", Sonali ordered.

"Okay Sona madam." Shubman said and ate along with Sonali.

ON THE WEDDING DAY

Sonali and Shubman came very close to each other, it was finally now the wedding day and Sonali was going to leave tomorrow after the reception to her house and then for her mission along with Shahneel di and Subeer. Shubman kept thinking of this all the time and thought that he really had to do something, he couldn't let her go without letting her know what he feels about her.

SHUBMAN'S POV -

I was searching for Sonali everywhere but I could not find her, I finally decided to go to her room. As soon as I was going to knock the door she opened it, she was looking beautiful, the red lehenga she was wearing enhanced her beauty.

"What happened?" Sona asked and wiggled her eyebrows, I then realized that I was staring at her all this while.

"Nothing, I was coming to call you only." I said.

"Oh really, why?" she asked.

"Baarat aane wali hai." I said.

"Sachi, toh yaha kyun khade hai, chalo niche, uske pehle main Shahneel di ke room main unhe bata ke aati hoon." She said and went. Why am I always left speechless in front of her mahn, I cant even speak anything. But no, today I will confess my feeling to her, I wont let her leave before I do that.

Baarat had already arrived and the ceremonies were about to begin, I went to get Shahneel di from her room. As soon as I entered I saw that Sona was already inside and di was getting emotional.

"Di, chalo. Baarat aagayi hai aur ab apka hii intezar ho raha hain." Abhay sai.

"Ha di, iske pehle ki jiju yeh gaane lage 'intaha ho gayi, intazaar ki, aai na koi khabar mere yaar ki'" I started singing and Abhay and Sona banged their heads on the wall, and di started running behind me.

"Shahneel chod ise, Abhay ke sangat ka asar hain aur kuch nahi." Komal di said.

"Haan mujhe wohi harani ho rahi hain ki Abhay acted normal this time and Shubh became mad." Shahneel di said and laughed, at least I was able to lighten up the mood.

SONALI'S POV -

Shahneel di was getting very emotional like any girl would before her wedding but Shubhi came and changed the whole scenario and made di laugh and brought a smile on her face. We started becoming close from the mehendi day but now is the time to leave for me, I will be leaving after the reception tomorrow and then I dont even think that we will meet again because for me my nation, India comes first and foremost before anything else, and we as army men I mean women get less holidays.

I have actually developed feelings for him, it is more than just a crush, but I really do not know what to do know so I am just going to let things remain how they are.

"Come lets go down?" Shubhi asked me and snapped in front of me.

"Yes come. " I said and we escorted di down.

Almost all the rituals were done and now the saat phere were taking place, I was showering flowers on di and jiju but suddenly felt flowers falling on me. I looked back only to see that it was Shubhi's doing so I simply glared at him but he did not stop but rather pulled me to a corner.

"Dekho, mujhe woh saare filmy confessions karne nahi aate but all I know that you will be going tomorrow and I really need to tell you that I love you." He blurted all this out in one go without taking a breath.

"Yaar kya kya soch rakha tha ki mera bf mujhe aise propose karenga waise propose karengs, atleast Shahneel di se kuch idea toh lena tha." I said and then realised that you idiot just say yes even you love him.

"I really love you Sona." Shubhi said bending down on his knees, aww he is so cute.

"You will wait for me whenever I go for my national duty?" I asked him.

"Yes Captain." he replied.

"You will always be there when I come back from my duty?" I asked him

"Yes Captain." he replied.

"You will never complain about the fact that I love my country India more than you ?" I asked him.

"Yes Captain, shit I mean no captain, wait does that mean that you love me?" he asked me with a really cute face.

"Yes Captain." I replied back and he stood up and hugged my, we then touched our foreheads together and stood like that for a while, lost in each other.

"Uhm, uhm mujhe toh laga tha ki meri shaadi ho rahi hain par yaha to koi alag hi picture ban rahi hain ha?" It was Shahneel di who fake coughed and broke our reverie.

"Woh di, wait your wedding is over?" Shubhi asked realising tthat when we came here the wedding was going on.

"Ji janab, yes captain karte karte yeh bhi nahi realise kiya ki kad shaadi shuru hoin or kab khatam?" Abhay said with a smirk n his face.

"Tumne jo promise Shona ko kiya so kiya par tumhe mujhse ek promise karna padega, meri bestie ki jindagi ka sawal hain." Di said.

"Thik hai I promise whatever you ask for." Shubhi said.

"You will always love Shona, no matter what." Di said and I looked at Shubh.

"Yes captain." He said and hugged me wholeheartedly.
