《The Blue Assassins》Epilogue- 5 Years Later

He's standing there, smiling at me with his perfect teeth showing. A leather jacket and a plain white shirt fits his muscular physique and a pair of jeans that make me want to melt.
I always had a soft spot for guys in jeans...and beanies. It's just so, I don't know, irresistible!
He walks towards me and my eyes widen. Every step he takes makes my heart thump faster and my body feel weaker. It's like he has this spell on me, a spell no one else understands. Just him and I.
We have a connection, I've always known that.
He stops once he's standing right in front of me, about half a foot apart. To me, it feels like he's practically leaning on me.
"Blair." He says my name and I suck in a breath. Oh jeez, he makes my own name sound like heaven itself. I can't even respond because he took my breath away. I hear my name all the time but it never makes me feel this way.
"Blair." He repeats and I gather up the courage to speak. Well, more like catch my breath.
"Y–yes?"
"You're beautiful." He smiles and I almost faint right there. Thank God I don't. I quietly gasp when he starts to lean in, his eyes closed, and his lips just centimeters away. And they're just inching closer to mine.
Then–
I feel something soft on my lips and I open my eyes.
"Hello, my queen." River whispered, his arm around my waist. I turned on the bed and faced him on my side.
"Hi, River, " I grinned at him.
He began to lean in but I stopped him. I grabbed a mint from my bedside table, chewed it, swallowed, then gave him a smile.
"Okay, you can kiss me now."
River chuckled before cupping my cheek and meeting my lips. It was a slow, sweet kiss but one of my favorites. I smiled when he kissed my forehead and pulled back.
"What are you smiling at?" He asked, rubbing circles on my arm.
I leaned my forehead on his and closed my eyes. "My dream came true."
"This is better than a dream, my queen. This is paradise."
River pulled me into a small hug and I groaned. "What's wrong, my queen?"
"I just..." I gave him a small smile. "I just love you too much."
"You're so adorable. I love you, " River kissed my cheek and I chuckled. He rubbed my back as I hold onto him, never wanting to let go.
I sighed. "I wish we could stay in bed forever."
"Me too, " he smirked. "But you know what staying in bed leads to–"
"HI, MOMMY!"
The munchkin barged in and jumped on top of me.
I laughed. "Hi, baby."
"Guess what, guess what, guess what?"
"What?" I smiled at our three year old baby boy.
"Aunt Alexis gave me a new Wii game!" he exclaimed and River sat up.
"That's really awesome, Ash."
River picked him up from my lap. "Yeah, what kind of game did she get for you?"

"Mario Kart, " Ash responded excitedly.
"Wow, " River nodded. "Impressive. You think you can beat me in it?"
Ash hesitated. "No, but I think mommy could!"
"That's my boy, " I grinned at him while River glared at me.
"Where's Kathryn?" River questioned.
"Oh, um, I think she's with Aunt Sam."
I quickly stood up. "She's gonna scar my baby girl. Come on, River."
"My queen, I think I'm gonna start calling you my drama queen, " he joked as I changed into leggings and a gray sweater.
"You better not."
"Daddy?" Ash looked up at River. "If mommy's your queen... Am I your prince?"
River ruffled Ash's hair, smiling. "Of course. Mommy's the queen, I'm the king, you're the prince, and Kathryn's the princess."
"So we're royal?" Ash gasped.
"In a way, " I answered before brushing my teeth. River nodded in agreement, placing Ash on the bed.
"That's so cool."
River chuckled and began changing too. After we were both finished, we walked to Kathryn's nursery.
We come in to Sam telling Kathryn which cars are the best.
"You see, Kat, Lamborghini and Ferrari are the best car brands. Your mommy and daddy are rich people so you can have as many as you want. But you gotta share with me, alright?"
"Sam!" I scold and she grins sheepishly at me.
"Oh, look, " she said to Kathryn. "There's mommy now. She's very mad and it's not very pretty when she's mad. So, just never make her mad and you'll survive life, okay?"
I glare at Sam and gently hold my baby girl. Kathryn reaches for my nose and giggles. River kisses her cheek, making her laugh.
Ash clings onto River and he climbs onto his back. "Hey, sis!"
Kathryn sticks her tongue out at him and I laugh. She's turning two soon and she's already adorable as ever.
Ash has dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes while Kathryn has dark brown hair with blue eyes. I never imagined a real family with kids before but River definitely made me happy that we had one now.
Speaking of family...
"Blair!" Erik runs over to me, my eyes widening.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
Emily and my parents follow after him and I raise an eyebrow at them. "What are all of you doing here?"
"We wanted to surprise you!" Emily smiles.
"Well, you succeeded."
My parents kiss me on the cheek and hug River. I hand over Kathryn to Emily and Ash plays with my parents.
Erik puts his arm around my shoulder. "So, how are you?"
"I'm happy, Erik. I really am." I smile at him and he smiles back. "How about you?"
"Happy too." He says and I give him a tight hug.
"Did you forget about me?"
I turn and let out a scream. "Selene! Jay!"
They laugh and almost suffocate me with a hug.
"Did you miss me?" Jay wiggles his eyebrows and I nod vigorously.
"Yes! I missed both of you so much!"
"Well." Selene grins. "We talked after you called us and decided to forgive you. For real this time."

I nearly cry. "Thank you! Thank you, guys. You're the best friends in the world and I love you."
"We love you too!" Jay smiles. "Now, where are your babies?"
I point to Kathryn and Ash, which makes Selene squeal.
"THEY'RE SO FREAKING ADORABLE!"
Jay looks at me. "What's their names?"
"Kathryn and Asher. Kat and Ash." I inform him and he nods.
"Can I have Kat? Please, please, please?" Selene begs and I roll my eyes.
"No way! She's mine."
"And mine."
Their jaws drop.
"Oh. My. God." Selene gapes at me. "You weren't kidding when you said you married your high school crush."
Jay gives me a high five. "I gotta hand it to you, Blair. You're one sneaky girl."
"I know. I stole his heart." I wink at River and he smiles.
"Listen here, Leader, and you listen closely. If you hurt my best friend, I'll hurt you. If you break her heart, I'll break you. If you do anything that upsets her, I will kill you. With no remorse. I don't care that you're the leader of an assassination group. I will kill you and it will not be a surprise. Got it?" Selene glares at him, making him nod slowly.
"Yeah." He says quietly. "I got it."
She smiles, satisfied. "Good. Now, give your sister-in-law a hug!"
"And your brother-in-law!" Jay pipes up and they hug River.
River mouths 'help me' but I shake my head, stifling a laugh. Emily and Erik come up behind me.
"Hey! Don't forget your real sister-in-law!"
"And your real brother-in-law!"
Soon enough, we're all hugging River.
"Hey, daddy, why are you blue?" Ash asks and we laugh, pulling away. River stuffs his head in the crook of my neck and groans.
I put my arms around him, chuckling. "You okay?"
"No. I'm in pain, my queen." He says dramatically.
"Are you now? I guess a queen's gotta help her king." I kiss his lips and he smiles. "Still in pain?"
"Nope. You're a miracle worker!"
"I know." I shrug and he kisses me again before putting his arm around my shoulder.
"You know, that was a pretty impressive threat." Sam tells Selene, which makes her grin.
"Thanks. But it was more of a promise than a threat."
Sam smirks. "I have a feeling we're going to be very, very good friends."
They continue to talk to each other while Jay awkwardly stands beside them.
"I feel like such a loner." I hear him mutter.
"Hey, everyone!" I shout, grabbing their attention. "Let's go to the cafeteria. There's more space and food, obviously."
They nod and follow me to the cafeteria. We all take some food from the kitchen then sit at the longest table.
"What I don't get though, " Selene starts as she narrows her eyes at my parents, "is how you're okay with your daughter being co-leader of The Blue Assassins and married to the real leader."
Jay nods. "Yeah, and she even married the guy without your knowledge. You guys weren't invited to your own daughter's wedding. How are you two alright with that?"
"Well...we weren't at first." My dad says, sighing.
"But then, we realized how much she loves River and how she plans on changing the whole assassin thing." My mom adds and I smile at her.
"I'm very grateful to the both of you. If you guys hadn't forgave me... I wouldn't be as happy."
My dad grins at me. "Plus, you gave us our two first beautiful grandchildren. That's definitely a bonus."
"You're welcome." River smirks and winks at me. Sam makes a gagging sound and Emily laughs at her.
"You two are so immature." Erik tells them, which makes Emily stick her tongue out at him. "Oh, yeah, that definitely helps your case."
Suddenly, three people plop down at the table with us.
"I can't believe you all forgot me." Alexis glares at us.
"Yeah, especially me." Cody adds but Alexis scoffs.
Drake sighs. "Dude, no cares about you."
"You guys are such good friends." Cody frowns and they grin.
"We know."
"Drake! My man." Erik gives him a fist bump and I push Erik away.
"Hey!" I narrow my eyes at him. "He's mine. He's my food supplier so get your hands off of him."
Drake smirks.
River pouts. "I thought I was yours."
"Oh, you are." I assure him. "It's a different kind of 'mine', love."
"You called him love!" Alexis squeals and I chuckle.
Cody perks up. "So...you think being called love is attractive, Alexis?"
"Oh, definitely."
"Well, that's good to know...love."
"Way to be subtle, man." Drake mutters. My parents play with Ash and Kat while Erik and Emily chat among themselves.
Sam groans. "Cody, just ask her out already."
"Um..." Cody gives Alexis a shy smile. "Will–will you go out with me?"
"Nah."
"Oh. Okay then." He murmurs, dejected.
"I already know you and that's really the point of dates before actually being together. So, let's just skip that. Is that okay with you, boyfriend?" She winks at him and his jaw drops.
A grin forms on his face. "Yes! Even better...girlfriend."
Alexis smiles and kisses his cheek. He nearly melts.
"Well, since we're doing that..." Drake grins at Sam. "What's up, girlfriend?"
"Nothing much, boyfriend." Sam responds, chuckling. River looks at me and I smile up at him.
"I love you, wife."
"I love you, husband."
And that's basically how their lives went in 1,938 words.
