《The Blue Assassins》XXV

I sneak into Sam's room in silence. I can see her watching TV, she's watching the Flash obviously.
Slowly, I crawl up to the edge of her bed and take a few breaths. Then–
"BOO!"
"WHAT THE HELL–" Sam grabs her pillow and throws it at me. I lay on the floor, dying of laughter.
"You had to see your face! It was beyond funny!" I laugh at her but she doesn't seem to agree.
"Oh, shut up." She pouts and I smile.
"Aren't you happy?" I ask, making her raise an eyebrow at me.
"About what?"
"Uh, I'm alive?"
She blinks a few times before gasping. "You're alive!"
I frown at her, "Did you seriously forget about me?"
"Sorry, my head was in Central City with Barry."
"God, I would love to be there with Barry Allen and Oliver Queen."
"Ooh yes! And agents of S.H.I.E.L.D!" Sam puts her hand over her heart, sighing dreamily.
I grin. "Lincoln and Fitz."
"And Hunter."
"Oh yeah!" I nod vigorously and she chuckles.
"Anyway, how was the mission?" She questions and I shrug.
"We succeeded and it was pretty fun."
A smirk spreads onto her face. "Any romance I should know about?"
"Uh." I clear my throat, "Nope."
"Oh really?" Her eyes were like an eagle's and that terrified me.
Fortunately, Cody interrupts our conversation.
"What's up, besties?" He winks as Drake trails behind him.
Sam squints at him, "I didn't hear a knock."
"That's because I didn't knock. Duh." He responds and I stifle a laugh.
"Boy, you better get your as–"
He throws her an Oreo packet while smirking. "You were saying?"

She smiles angelically, "Nothing, handsome."
"That's what I thought." Cody sits beside me and Drake sits by Sam. I grab an Oreo without her noticing. Cody smiles knowingly at me.
"I'm a ninja." I whisper and he chuckles.
"Hey, when's the wedding by the way?" Drake questions and I shrug.
"A few weeks?" I offer and they nod. Someone knocks on the door and Sam yells 'who is it'.
"River."
"Speaking of the wedding..." Sam mutters and I sigh. I open the door and he smiles at me.
"I have some free time right now. Wanna talk about our wedding plans?" River suggests and I bite my lip. I glance over at my friends and they wink at me.
"Go." Sam mouths as Cody gives me a thumbs up. Drake simply waves at me.
I face River again. "Okay. Let's go."
"Great." River looks behind me, "Bye, Assassins."
"Bye, Leader." They say monotonously and I wave at them before leaving.
•••
"Where is it going to be?" I ask him as he writes, his tongue swirling around in his mouth. He's so focused.
"Uh, the beach outside."
I instantly grin. "Okay!"
"What? You like the beach?" River looks up at me with a sweet smile.
"Yeah."
"Me too. I don't know if I like the beach or the pool more..." He says thoughtfully and I shrug in response.
"I honestly don't know either." I agree with him, "I mean, the beach has sand which is awesome. But the pool is less dangerous and crowded. It's way cleaner too. The beach though is just... relaxing. I don't know."
"But you know, there are pools with artificial sand now. There's waterparks too."

I scoff, "Waterparks are better than both. No doubt about it."
"True. Alright, let's get back to the planning." River reminds me and I nod.
"Okay so it'll be a beach wedding." I pause to smile, "I always wanted a beach wedding."
"And now you'll get it." He winks as I blush lightly. But I don't let him see it.
Butterflies. Stupid butterflies.
"Bridesmaids dresses." I clear my throat, "I'll just ask the girls for their opinions on that."
"Same with the guys."
"Got it."
I continue to plan other things until I feel someone staring at me. My eyes immediately dart up to him. His hazel eyes gaze at me intensely, making my skin suddenly feel hot.
"What is it?" I furrow my eyebrows, he doesn't answer though. He just looks at me. I'm about to ignore him but his eyes travel to my lips.
Oh dear Lord. I can't... Please don't do that...
I see his Adam's apple bob up then down.
Really? Why are you doing this to me?
His fists clench, almost as if he's refraining himself.
At least one of us is trying to. I can't seem to hold back.
He licks his lips while staring at mine.
Oh, come on! Make up your mind! Are you going to kiss me or not?
My eyes almost jump out of their sockets when he begins to lean in. My want for him was terribly strong. And every millisecond he got closer, my heartbeat would increase.
Why is he taking so long?
I almost grab his face and kiss him already when he suddenly stops midway. A minute passes by with River staring at my lips then my eyes. Then, finally, he starts to get closer again.
But my happiness quickly deflated when River's lip touch my cheek, an inch away from my lips. The situation changes to an awkward atmosphere. Thankfully, his phone rings and he answers it.
"Yeah, I'll be right there." He gives me a small smile, "I, um, have to go. You can stay here for as long as you like though. We can continue this tomorrow in the afternoon maybe."
I nod.
"Okay then." River walks over to the door, "See you later."
As soon as he leaves and I can't hear his footsteps anymore, I throw the pillow at the wall.
"I can't believe I almost kissed him!" I groan, cupping my face in my hands. He was close...only inches away...
He looked so hot today too.
"Oh, damn it." I sigh as I pick up his pillow. "I hate hormones."

His sole source of amusement comes from scrying on the adventurer teams that are in the upper levels of his dungeon. Through spying on adventurers, Kragathor hears of a new magic item, called a Virmo, that allows one to project their mind into a fictional world in some sort of grand-scale game. Recognizing these Virmo games as a potential diversion for his endless boredom, he orders a minion to infiltrate the nearby town and acquire some of these games. Once the minion returns, he logs into a game set in a world that runs on the twin magics of ‘science’ and ‘technology’, and embarks on his new journey as Bob, the Level 1 Human with no class. The Weaver's Burden (HIATUS)
Weavers... this lot has been synonymous with freaks at best, and devil worshipers at worst, since they were first found. Thankfully, they make up a negligible number of people, but they can still be incredibly dangerous. Oftentimes, they wind up killing themselves or others when their ability to perform magic begins to manifest, acting as a sort of natural culling process for weavers. So if you had the chance to turn something dangerous into a weapon, why wouldn't you? This is what fate awaits a young man named Emmet. After his weaving manifests and blood is on his hands, he is given a choice: the gallows, or the Esphell Monastery. What awaits Emmet at the monastery? What is this magic, and how can he control it? What happens to weaver's once they are properly trained? And most importantly, will he survive long enough to have these questions answered?

How About Heresy?
Jeffrey's a guy who's most certainly a heretic but likes to believe he's not. Like we all do. Though, being a villain, there are many do gooders that'd like to exchange a strong word— or rather fisticuffs with him. Doing the deeds of villains, he places his own strange lens of justice over it, all the while, being an absolute fool. How will Jeffrey fare against the might of the good? —————————— "You tryin' ta shill me heresy?" "Ye- I mean yesn't," That's absurd why would I shill heresy? I'm not a heretic godsdamnit! In a realm of heretics and apostles alike, what to do? Well, I'm not sure of that myself. Though I have a feeling joining a cult may not be the best action... "No way. Are we being clapped by the power of friendship?" "Indeed we are," Shite. NOTE: - Don't expect an overpowered main character, nor a weak character. Strength isn't a plot point. - This is mainly a comedy, so it ain't as dark as you think it'd be despite the numerous mentions of cultists, heretics and murder... - There isn't going to be any face slapping scenes.
