《The Blue Assassins》I

My life was pretty simple.
Go to school, hang out with my friends, go to my older brother's football games, have dinner with my family, and sleep. And just like any other 17 year old, I had a crush. Except my crush was a bit more prolonged, as in 6 years.
"Blair! Wake up or you're going to be late for school!" my mom yelled and I groaned, sitting up from my bed. Waking up early should be illegal.
"I'm awake!" I yelled back as I grabbed my clothes. Then, I walked into my bathroom and changed. With my dirty blonde hair in a messy bun, I put little to nothing foundation under my eyes and a thin layer of mascara.
Satisfied, I put my phone in my back pocket and met my family downstairs. My parents were sitting at the table while my brother and sister were hunting for food. In the refrigerator, of course.
"Took you long enough. Dreaming of lover boy?" Erik, my older brother, teased and I rolled my eyes in response. He frowned as he peeked inside the pantry. "We need more cereal."
"Noted, " my mom nodded before continuing to eat her scrambled eggs.
Emily, my younger sister, grinned at the freezer before looking at Erik. "Hey, E. Look, there's still some breakfast burritos left!"
"How many?"
"Two."
"Half?" Erik suggested and I nodded. Emily placed them onto a plate before heating them up in the microwave.
We all sat at the table to eat breakfast. Erik cleared his throat. "So, the team is getting ready for the first season game. It's in two days. Is everyone going?"
"Of course I am. I've been going since you started football in high school. College is no different. I'll definitely be there, " I smiled at him. They nodded in agreement.

"Great. I'll get you guys front row seats."
"You better get me the middle one, " I narrowed my eyes at him and he chuckled.
"Always, Blair."
—
"Blair! Over here!" Selene, my best friend called and a bright smile spread across my face. As I walked over, she began jumping in excitement.
"What's up with you?" I chuckled.
"It's River. He's all alone. Now's your chance to get your man!"
Surely, there he was across from us. He slowly looked up from his phone as if he sensed our gaze and his eyes locked with mine. His dark green eyes trapped me in place; my breath hitched. Before I could react, someone tapped my shoulder and I immediately twisted their arm.
"Blair!" Selene exclaimed, wincing.
I let her go and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. You know you can't sneak up on me like that."
"God, those martial arts classes really paid off."
"Good thing I stopped, right? Or else you would've been on the ground by now, " I joked as I helped her up. "Come on, let's go find Jay inside so, we can leave."
"Hello, ladies, " Jay smirked at us when we reached his locker.
Selene leaned on his shoulder, glaring at me. "Guess what good ole Blair did, Jay? She almost broke my arm."
"Really? Blair! How could you?"
Selene grinned.
"You should've told me so, I could bring popcorn."
Selene frowned.
"There's always next time, Jay, " I chuckled. They began bickering but I was too busy watching River and his two friends pass by us. It seemed like they were in a heated discussion by how stern River looked.
"Stop staring, " Selene hissed and I shook away my thoughts.
"Sorry, I kind of zoned out. What were you guys talking about?"

Jay smirked. "Selene's buying us frozen yogurt after school."
"Oh, cool, " I nodded, which made them furrow their eyebrows.
"What, you're not coming?" she asked.
"Uh, I think I'll pass today. I'm really tired."
"You're always tired. What's different now?" Jay said and I shrugged.
"I don't have any homework for once. Gives me a chance to fix my sleeping schedule, " I replied. They exchanged looks before nodding in understanding.
Selene gave me a hug as she spoke: "Get some sleep, then. I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Don't miss me too much, Blair, " Jay winked and I rolled my eyes.
"Bye, guys."

Evan Ebonhart struggled, he fought and clawed tooth and nail, and just like his mother taught him he did it all with a smile. Never letting anyone see how things affected him. This is his story, a story about some of the terrible things that happened to him, that led to the greatest and most terrifying discovery of his life. With his lifelong friends beside him, they set themselves on a brave course that might very well shatter the very foundations of their society so that they may build it anew, stronger and more wholesome.
8 212Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.
