《Only You♥️》Thanks Dad!

I woke up to someone knocking on my door.
I just groaned in my sleep.
Today was the holi party and I very well know why are these people knocking my door.
I never play holi. I don't know why, i am just not too fond of the colours and water drenching thing.
I heard another knock and now Ruhi said
"V....! Everyone is troubling me. Come out please!"
I rolled my eyes at her. She is such a drama queen i tell you. She must be troubling everyone and not the other way round.
"V...V...V...!" She started banging the door with this.
Arrggghhhh!
I opened the door and came face to face a very smiling Avni holding Ruhi in her arms.
"See I told you, Irritating him always works!" Avni said and high fived Ruhi.
My life is filled with troublemakers!
"If you both are here to take me down to play holi then let me tell you, I AM NOT GOING TO COME THERE!" I said emphasizing on each word.
"Veer! Come on. Don't be a spoil sport. It is my last day here today. I want you to come down. Please." Avni said looking at me with those puppy eyes.
God!
She knows my weaknesses too damn well!
"Pretty please!" Ruhi said giving me the same puppy eyes.
They both are so similar!
My troublemakers!
"On one condition!" I said looking at them with a very stern face. And I very well know they both are the last people on the whole planet to fear me.
But one can try, right?
They both grinned from ear to ear.
"Ohhh.. Don't be soo happy. I'll come only if you guys promise me that no one is going to put water on me down there." I said.
Avni just rolled her eyes at me.
"V...! You are my favourite. You know that right? Can't you do this for me? I want to play with you." Ruhi said with a very sad face pouting.
And let me tell you one thing, if you guys think that she is really sad then she is not she is emotional blackmailing me!
And who has taught her all this?
Ofcourse, Avni!
I glared at Avni and she just gave me sheepish smile because she knew why was I glaring at her.
"Please! I don't know when will be the next time I will get to spend time with the whole family together." Now Avni said pouting.
God!
These drama queens!
"Fine! But not for much time." I said looking at them and the smile that broke on their both faces was priceless!

I can do anything to see that smile!
"We'll head towards the lawn. Aunty needs my help with the preprations. Don't be late." Avni said and went with Ruhi smiling.
Just a month and every one in this house is got habituated to Avni.
It is not just me!
Mom, Dad, Tanu, Ruhi.
Everyone is going to miss her after today.
I sighed and went to do my morning business.
I went in the lawn where Mom & Avni arranging all the things.
And Tanu was busy with Ruhi.
As usual Dad was leisurely sitting on one of the sofa's in the lawn with his shades on.
I just chuckled.
"Dad, whom are you trying to impress, huh?" I asked him sitting beside him.
"Ohh... Your mom will kill me if I even try to impress any other woman." He said laughing.
"It is strange how you fear mom this much!" I said laughing.
"You will know once you get married. It is not about fearing her just being precautious not to hurt her." He smiled.
"She is given her everything to this family, to me. When you are not even her own kids she is loved you like you are hers. And the one who gave birth to you both just abandoned you guys." He said shaking his head disapprovingly.
I still remember the day when she ran away from the house. I was awake and with my own eyes I saw her leaving and sitting in some car which belonged to a rich man ofcourse. We were not rich ofcourse and she was one money hungry—
"Veer!" Avni called me and I was brought out of my thoughts.
"The guests have started coming. Uncle, Aunty is asking you to stop sitting here leisurely and welcome the guests with Veer." She said smiling.
Dad playfully narrowed his eyes at her.
"Her words not mine, Uncle!" She said grinning.
"By the way, Happy holi!" She said putting colour on his cheeks and touching his feet.
"Hey, hey! You don't need to touch my feet. Daughter's place is always over here." He said and opened his arms to hug her.
I looked at Avni to see numerous emotions in her eyes.
Thanks Dad!
She came and hugged him. He kissed her forehead and took me with him to welcome the guests.
I looked at Avni who was at the verge of crying.
"Go ahead, Dad. I'll be there!" I said to him and he left.
"I don't get a holi wish?" I asked opening my arms slightly.
She chuckled and hugged me.
"Happy holi. And thanks for giving this happiness for a month." She said still hugging me.

I rubbed her back soothingly. I know she is getting emotional because of her parents. Whenever she sees a happy family she always gets emotional and now she was living in one for a month.
It must be difficult for her.
Then why doesn't she stay?
She detached herself and smiled at me.
Dad called me again and I left with him to welcome the guests.
Everyone was busy playing holi putting colours on each other.
Thank God none of them is troubling me.
Just then I felt water been thrown on my head.
I just looked up and saw Mihir sitting one of the balconies with a bucket and laughing his ass off.
Then Someone hit with the water balloon from behind. I turned around to see Ruhi with water balloons in her hand.
Tanvi was still spraying water on me with a pipe.
God! These people!
Raghav & Avni were stiffling their laugh standing beside Ruhi.
Mihir came from behind me and said
"Don't kill me, okay! It was all Avni's plan. She wanted to do this to you." He said with a very innocent face pointing towards Avni.
I glared at her and she said "Hawww... Mihir! You are such a liar. You volunteered to take part in my plan." She said narrowing her eyes at him.
"I'll see you guys later. First I need to take care of this brat." I said and took long strides towards Avni.
But she was quick & she ran away from there inside the house.
She was running around in the living room and I was chasing her.
"I'll show you today how to play holi actually!" I said and ran towards her.
She ran upstairs towards her room laughing.
She was going to lock her room when I put my leg and opened the door.
She ran towards the bathroom but before she could close it i entered.
"Now where are you going to run?" I asked her smirking.
"What? It is holi today. Everything is allowed." She said while moving back.
As she moved back I was going towards her.
Her back hit the wall and then I caged her with my hands on both her sides.
"How are you going to escape now." I whispered in her ear and looked at her.
"This is cheating." She said pouting.
She looks so cute!
"I'll free you, if you allow me to put colour on your face." I said looking into her eyes.
I know she hates it when someone applies colour on her face. She can play holi with water and also colour anywhere but not her face.
"You don't have color in your hands. How will you do it?" She asked narrowing her eyes.
I went more closer to her and she took a sharp breath.
I took both her hands and rubbed them on my cheeks.
She looks so beautiful!
She was just busy looking at me.
I inched closer to her face and she looked at me wide eyed.
"V...!" She whispered.
"So you finally decide to call me by that name." I said and chuckled
I rubbed my cheeks on both her cheek slowly and she was just standing there with her eyes shut very tightly and also clutching my shirt very tight.
I kissed her forhead and said
"Happy Holi."
"I told you not to do that!" She whined.
"You threw water and I applied colour on your face. Now we are even." I said smiling.
"I was not talking about that." She whispered.
I again kissed her forhead.
"Why do you always have to do it?" She whined again.
"Then it gets very difficult when I don't have you around me. I was used to your hugs & these forhead kisses that i— she stammered and a tear rolled down her cheek.
She quickly wiped her tears and said
"I am sorry."
"I should be sorry, not you." I said holding her face gently.
"No.. everyone has their own life. I couldn't just expect you to stick by me forever when we were only friends." She said shaking her head.
"We were only friends?" I asked playfully.
"I don't think friends do this." I said kissing her forhead.
"I don't think friends are protective of each other like we are. I don't think friends care like we do. Maybe it took me a whole span of 4 years to realise that we were never friends." I said bringing her close by her waist.
"Yeah..! We were never friends. We were something more than it, ofcourse." She said smiling.
"And I don't think we need to name it!" I said returning her smile.
"Now.. if you are done with your little revenge, Can we head downstairs?" She asked.
"Ofcourse!" I said and my phone buzzed.
I said.
A man on the other line said.
What? Sucide?
Shit!
"I'll be there in 10!" I said hanging up and running towards the door.
I heard Avni yelling my name but I was in too much hurry to reply her.
Why would she do it?
Damnnn!
