Chapter 30 || Stuck in the snow
We all sat around the kitchen table. Pots and pans lining the middle of it with steam coming off the top.
My sister and her husband Nathan sat on the far right, with my sister Emily and brother Brody beside them. Barry sat beside me, and Noah was on my left. Tyler sat at the head, and my Mom and Dad sat on the other end. It was like any other Christmas at my house.
And you know, I thought that this whole Noah thing was going to make this Christmas dinner weird, but it didn't; surprisingly.
I honestly don't know what to say about this. We just sat there and ate our dinner. Honestly, my Dad didn't even interrogate Noah.
In every other sense my father was a mans man, but he seemed to never really care about mine and my sisters love lives.
He was lacks, he wasn't super protective.
Okay, well there was this one guy that Laurel dated. He was a douche. My dad didn't do anything till after he broke Laurels heart. Him and my mum were pretty supportive of the 'live and learn' theory. It messed Laurel up for a while, but she has Nathan now.
Sometimes I don't really get mum and dads theories. It really didn't seem to do Laurel any good.
I'm sure if my dad actually found out about what happened between Noah and me he would freaking beat Noah to a pulp. No matter the fact that he was a supernatural being that could probably snap my Dad's neck within two second. My dad would be so angry that he would take him down.
Now that I think of it; telling Dad actually might be a good idea. Of course there was the fact that Noah has a lot of friends, so maybe that wouldn't be the best option.
The gist of this little rant is that: no, my father didn't interrogate Noah, and Noah didn't do anything outrageously inappropriate. He actually didn't do anything inappropriate, which has probably got to be a first in mine and Noah's relationship.
After dinner we moved into the family room to start with presents. It wasn't actually Christmas day, but my parents didn't like doing everything on Christmas just because of all the other family commitments that we have. So we'd usually do presents and all of that a couple days before, all really depending on when school got out for me and my siblings.

We were all basically broke in my house, or we were just too cheap to buy a present for every single one of our family members, so we did secrete Santa. You know the game that you all pick a name from a hat and you have to get that person a gift? Well that one.
This presented a problem though. We drew names on labor day weekend, and I didn't have a gift for Noah. To be fair I only started talking to him the other day. For me to have a gift for Noah was like expecting Stiles not to have a panic attack when he's asked to chop off Derek's arm.
And then of course, when it did come to gift giving he had a gift to give me. Now I just looked like a grade A bitch.
That was until he told me, and everyone in my family what it was, because no, it wasn't one of those wrapped up presents that you get to rip open and have fun guessing what it was. It was a trip. To a cottage up north, and I knew exactly why he gave it to me.
That little bitch.
He was dead.

"You freaking ass." I said as I walked into my room; Noah following. "You did that on purpose knowing that I wouldn't be able to say no in front of my family."
I opened mine and Emily's closet and grabby a bag from the top shelf.
"You know this is for the best. You don't want anyone to blow up your house, do you?" he asked.
I clenched my jaw and started grabbing some of the clothes still remaining on my half of the closet.
"It wasn't your place to come in and control what I do. Ever think what I might have wanted to do?" I said, frustration ringing clearly through my tone.
"You didn't want to do anything!" He said, I heard him start to pace my room.
I whipped around from the closet and faced him. "That doesn't freaking matter, it was my choice and you had no right to make that choice for me. This is my family, and my life, and you need to learn to respect my boundaries instead of imposing you so called 'rightful'-" I made mock quotation marks around 'rightful'"-position in my life. You don't get to make those decisions." I said, finishing with my hands on my hips and a glare searing into Noah's eyes.

"It is my position though, Sarah. I'm your mate, and in this situation you're in danger. Therefore it is my position."
I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"Newsflash, I don't live in your world, and in reality you've brought this on yourself. If you would have kept your hands to yourself in the first place I would have never been introduced to this danger." I said. Turning back around I started gathering my clothes again.
"And that is on me, but now my world is invading yours, and that makes this my responsibility to fix, and to keep you safe." He said.
"Why can't you ever get that I don't want your help? And the only reason you freaking world is invading mine is because your invading my life. Don't you notice that when you aren't around danger isn't either? Why can't you freaking wake up and face the facts. I'd be better off without you here." I said.
I turned around to face him and his eyes were darker then I had ever seen them before.
"You honestly think you're safe? Or that you'll be better off without me?" He said. He took a step closer to me, but then thought better of it and took one back. "You really thought you were safe when I was gone? The minute you entered my life, when you ran into me, that was when danger started following you. It didn't stop when I left. The only freaking reason you're still alive is because I've made sure of it. Just being related to me in any form makes you a target, so yes, maybe I did bring this on, but me being gone doesn't change any of that now. You'll be a target whether you're around me or not; especially with that mark on your neck." He took one step closer, still leaving a few feet between us. "Plus we both know how you felt when I was gone." He said.
I scoffed, "now that's just playing dirty, but then again; dirty seems to be your game. We aren't doing this your way. When we leave we aren't going up to the cabin, we're going somewhere else. You can drop me off at a motel or something." I turned back around and started packing more of my clothes.
I heard him snort behind my back, "So a motel is safer then the safe house I've set up."
"Yeah, because you won't be there, dumb ass."
He didn't say anything, but both him and i knew he wasn't bringing me to that cabin.
We didn't talk to each other for the rest of the twenty minutes we were present in my room. I packed my things and we went down stares. I said goodbye to my parents and siblings with smiles and hugs, but the frown quickly resumed on my face as soon as we left the house.

You know that storm Tyler was talking about earlier, the one that was supposed to hit this morning? Well it came, but it came late.
Me and Noah were driving, trying to find a motel, and the storm hits. Only it hits after we are two hours away from home.
On top of that, Noah decided he knew the back roads well enough to get to a motel faster, so therefore there wasn't any help anywhere.
Now we were stuck. In the middle of nowhere. In the middle of a storm.
I swear, if this was Stiles, this would have never happened, or at least I wouldn't have felt like chopping his head off.

Reincarnating with the gamer interface was all a part of the plan, being reborn as Ron Weasley not so much. It was something I could work with, sure. Magic is great! But as I would soon learn, it had the tendency of introducing a plethora of other issues.
