Author's POV:

Avi was sleeping peacefully on the bed due to tiredness when someone continuously knocked on the door. He got up lazily and sat on the bed. He looked around and found the other side of the bed empty. He got used to having her beside him every day. Now, looking at the empty side made him sad. He moved to the washroom and quickly freshened up and moved down. Though he was in no mood to eat, his stomach was growling as he hadn't had his lunch in the afternoon.

He saw everyone waiting for him at the dining table. He greeted them and settled down along with the youngsters. He had his dinner silently and came back to the room. He locked the door, called someone, and cancelled all the bookings he had made for the two days. He took out a cigar from the secret draw and sat on the balcony.

He looked at the dark sky. The pale crescent moon is shining in all its glory in the sky, flooding the silvery light over everything. And a group of stars are scattered around the moon, decorating the sky. He threw the cigar away because he knew Maya disliked it when people smoked.He sighed and got up. He went inside and brought a blanket and the teddy and settled himself on the small bed that Maya had arranged. He covered himself with the blanket and hugged the teddy and tried his best to sleep.

He took his mobile and dialled Maya's number. But no one lifted the call from the other side. He dialled again for three or four times, but on getting no response, he was disappointed. Finally, after tossing on the bed for an hour, he slowly drifted into sleep.

On the other hand, Maya forgot her mobile downstairs. She had some fruit and went to her room. She took out the canvas and the paint and placed them on the balcony. She started painting the view in front of her. After an hour, she completed the painting and sat there on the swing, enjoying the view in front of her.

She looked for her mobile and started searching for it. Finally, she found it downstairs. She went to her room, locked the door and lay down on the bed. She unlocked her mobile and saw many calls and messages from the family. She saw that the last call was from Avi. She thought to call him, but she dropped the idea because of the time.

She tried to sleep, but after tossing and turning a lot on the bed, she got down off the bed, took her laptop, and started watching "Friends." She slept around midnight while watching it.

Maya was sleeping peacefully when she heard some sounds from outside. She sat on the bed and clutched the bedsheet in fear. Her body was trembling in fear listening to the sounds, and fear crept into her heart. She slowly got down off the bed and reached for the door. The knock on the door became hard, and she clutched her dress in fear.

Who is that?

It's me, darling.

You. What are you doing here? Her breaths became uneven, and her body started to shiver.

For you. Saying that, he started smiling devilishly.

For a moment, her mind became blank. She didn't understand what to do. On the other hand, he started breaking the door. She gulped in fear and dashed into the restroom, locking the door behind her. She leaned against the door. She rubbed off the sweat with her dupatta and sat in a corner, praying for God to save her. The sounds became louder, and suddenly she heard the sound of a breaking door. She clutched her mangalsutra tightly in her hands and prayed to God. She heard a knock on the bathroom door. Her breath hitched listening to it, and she didn't understand what to do.

Come out, darling. Do you want me to break this too?

Please leave me, Rajesh. What wrong did I do to you? Why won't you let me live in peace? She cried helplessly.

You rejected me and married that loser. How dare you? Do you think I'll let you live in peace? He said, smiling wickedly.

Maya looked here and there and found a brass bucket there. She took it in her hands and hid it behind her back.

Finally, he broke the bathroom door too and smirked at her. She looked at him in horror and started to move back. He took slow steps towards her and pulled her towards him, making her breath hitch. She took a deep breath and hit his head with the bucket continuously. Blood started to ooze from his head. She pushed him to the ground and ran away from there.

She left the house and ran until her body gave up.

Avi, shouting his name, she fainted on the ground.

Avi sat on the bed with a jerk, shouting Maya's name. His face was covered with sweat and his body was trembling in fear. He looked beside and saw the empty bed. He got up and searched the whole room for Maya. He totally forgot that she wasn't in the house in his fear. Suddenly, it hit him that she wasn't here. He opened his mobile and saw the location. He grabbed his car keys and immediately ran down. He drove the car at maximum speed, following directions from the map, and reached the house where Maya was staying in an hour.

Seeing a car at an odd hour, security got alerted and stopped the car at the gate. He got down from the car and shouted at them. They immediately recognised him and allowed him inside, telling him the directions to Maya's room. He ran inside the house like a mad man and banged on Maya's room door.

Maya, who was sleeping soundly in her room, got up with a jerk, listening to the sounds. She heard someone shouting her name. She quickly got off the bed and stood near the door.

Avi: Bunny! Bunny, are you there?

On hearing Avi's voice, Maya immediately opened the door and saw Avi standing in front of her in a dishevelled state.

As soon as Avi saw Maya in front of him, he immediately took her in his arms and kissed her whole face. He then kissed her lips furiously, pouring all his anger and pain into the kiss. Maya stood there, surrendered to his enchantment. She let him do whatever he wanted. When he noticed she wasn't responding to the kiss, he tightened his grip on her waist, and she moaned loudly. He bit her lower lip harshly, making it bleed and inserting his tongue inside her mouth. Both of their tongues were fighting for dominance and were exploring each other's mouths. He broke the kiss when he felt she couldn't take more and joined his forehead with hers.

She rubbed his back to calm him. She slowly made him sleep on the bed and went to lock the door. He got angry when she left him alone on the bed. He pulled her harshly, making her land on the bed. He got above her and again took her lips in a kiss. His hands were roaming all over her body while she was lying there under his mercy. She was wondering what had gotten into him so upset. He got angry again, seeing her lost somewhere. In his anger, he tore her frock, leaving her only in her inners. A cold breeze hit her body, sending shivers through her spine. She felt shy and hugged him tightly.

He started dropping wet kisses on her neck while she tilted her neck, giving him more access to her. His one hand was caressing her thigh while the other one was fondling her breast. She moaned his name, igniting the fire in him. She closed her eyes in pleasure, but suddenly she got the flashes of that day when that boy forced him upon her. She pushed Avi lightly and shouted "No". She looked at Avi with teary eyes, while he looked at her with hurt. He quickly masked his emotions and covered her with the blanket. Then he went to the bathroom and switched on the shower and stood under it.

His body quivered as the cold water droplets touched his body. A few tears left his eyes. He felt helpless. The way she looked at him made him feel as if he was forcing himself upon her. He ran his hand through his hair and stomped his foot on the ground. He felt angry with himself and banged his hand on the wall, making it bleed. He thought for a while and decided to stay away from Maya for some time. He knew it would be hard, but for the time being, it was best for both of them.

On the other hand, Maya changed her dress and sat on the bed crying. A lot of thoughts were running through her mind. Why did she push him away from her? Doesn't he have rights on her? When she loves him with all her heart, then what is stopping her from taking their relationship further? Didn't he wait all this time for her? If he never forced himself upon her, then why was she pushing him away? The only answer she got was "her past." She might have told everyone that she has moved on, but the truth is that she is still struck by her past. She sat there crying helplessly.

Maya was lost in her thoughts when the bathroom door got open. She looked at that side, and saw Avi drenched from top to bottom, and his hand was bleeding. She quickly got down off the bed and ran towards him. She was about to touch him when he moved back. He asked her for first aid without looking at her. Tears pooled in her eyes as she looked at him. She wiped off her tears and moved to the wardrobe and brought the towel and the first aid kit. He moved towards the balcony and sat there on the swing. She saw him struggling to dry his hair.

She went to him and snatched the towel from him and rubbed his hair. She kneeled down in front of him and cleaned his wound and applied a band-aid. She went inside and handed him fresh clothes. He changed his clothes and laid down on the bed. She put his clothes in the washing machine and came to the room and saw Avi sleeping facing the wall. She sighed and slept facing the other side. For the first time, after 2 months of their married life, they slept in opposite directions.

Maya was crying silently while Avi was staring at the wall with no emotions. Soon her sobs became loud. He sighed and turned around and pulled her into his arms. She hugged him tightly and was mumbling "sorry" continuously. He patted her back and kissed her head. She slowly drifted into sleep due to the emotional toll. He lay there looking at the ceiling blankly, with her in his arms.
