《White Wolf Legacy {Book One}》Alpha Queen

Seated in the Alpha's hall which was built by Dimitri's grandfather to host all meetings such as this one this evening, I looked amongst the Alpha's here present with a new sense of pride. All of them were working hard to come up with new solutions. Providing fresh and intuitive ideas to the running of our species. To make our policies more democratic in their make up. I agreed with most points in which, to my surprise, Dimitri consulted with me on before he voted. I found myself falling for him more and more with every second we spent together.

Alpha Byrant and Luna Farah were also in attendance. Farah sat by me and would occasionally roll her eyes when the male wolf politics became too heated on certain subjects. The new Luna of Clawthaw also joined us and I was pleasantly surprised but not shocked to find out it was Ella. She suited the role perfectly and had a very femine way about her that would calm her mate, Alpha Cain when he would dispute some territorial matters. She would often look over to me every now and then for assurance and I would nod in support of her actions. She was used to being a wolf with no power and she would need to step it up now that her rightful place was to stand beside her mate who was an extremely powerful Alpha. A role she would mold into her own, I'm sure.

The Alpha's would debate amongst themselves and vote accordingly on each matter that was raised. They discussed old territory disputes, governing policies and also the treaty of the alliance should we need to call on one another. We had currently been seated in this room for almost four hours and I had an itch to scratch. Something I wanted to get off my chest. But I knew some of the Alpha's would dispute It.

Ahh well.. like I give a fuck!

"I have a request I would like to put forward to the new council".

The Alpha's quieted down at hearing me speak and even Dimitri raised an inquisitive brow in my direction.

Dimitri's question fluttered into my mind and I grinned mischievously.

I coughed to cover the laugh which threatened to break free at how serious he was being.

I scoffed playfully back into his mind before addressing the new Alpha's.

"I want all of our women to train like our men and that will not be up for discussion either. If this war has proved anything, it is that we are weak and the council made us so. Our women need to know how to defend themselves. Not just the Luna's".

I looked towards Ella and her back rose with confidence before she spoke to agree with me.

"I second that motion Luna Violet. Women should know how to defend themselves...".

Alpha Cain cut her off..

"Defend... yes... but I will not have our women fighting like our warriors and THAT is not up for discussion either".

Ella's shoulders dropped slightly and the other Alpha's looked to me nervously. Waiting for me to loose my temper.

Is it so unlike me to loose my temper?

"I'm not saying the women should become warriors, but if that is their decision.. you should not refuse them. My second 'suggestion' is that our women are to no longer be treated like second class wolves either. Ella is now your Luna and her fighting skills are limited as you know. If Ella had of been asked to participate in the recent Luna trials, both herself and your entire pack would have perished".

...

"You think you are protecting her, but in reality you will not always be around to defend her Cain. The women will learn to fight and any Alpha who dares to prohibit them will answer to me. A basic right of any shewolf should be to be able to defend herself".

My eyes bored into Cain's as he bit his tongue.

The other Alpha's too looked displeased by my 'suggestion'. Everyone except my brother Kieron. Luna Farah cut in..

"I agree, and I know every other shewolf outside of those doors would too. Luna Violet speaks for them all. After all, she fought for every one of them so they had the liberty and freedom of speech and choice to make up their own minds. The opportunity should be there if they wish to take it".

She defended my speech and nodded to me in support.

"I agree" said Alpha Kieron.

"So do I" said Alpha Byrant.

"I agree with my mate implicitly on this. I also vote in favour" said Dimitri smiling.

Alpha Jullian nodded and we all waited on Alpha Cain.

"Please" Ella pleaded with him in a small voice.

He looked to her and I could see how torn he was. He really did care about her safety. But treating her like a china doll was counterintuitive and I think my words hit home.

"When you train, you train with me" he told her and she smiled at him.

Looking to me he nodded.

"I agree, but I am going against everything my forefathers believed before me". He explained.

"Of course you are, and I understand this is new but our safety comes first and this council has had to adapt and change with the times. This time last year there were nine Alpha's who sat amongst these tables. Now, there are only five. There will be no more empty chairs at this table. Not whilst I breathe". I said.

The Alpha's looked towards me with pride and Dimitri turned towards me in his seat.

"You are wrong my love. There are six Alpha's seated at this table. You are an Alpha too. A petition was brought to our attention this morning, following the trial yesterday and every werewolf over the age of 16 has signed it or given their consent. The five Alpha's here present already debated on the subject of the petition and we all agree with our people".

I waited for him to continue as he smiled at me knowingly.

"200 years ago, the White Wolves were our people's sovereigns before the council's and Alpha's abolished their line of succession. We want to re establish the monarchy and give you the rights to lead us. On the provision of course that you allow us as the council, to continue to advise and debate together with you as a democracy".

My eyes widened and Luna Farah clapped her hands together in excitement.

"You were born to lead Violet. Please say you accept" she asked

I looked around the table to the men around me and each of them continued to encourage me in taking the role.

"Alright, I'll accept it.. for the line of White Wolves who were murdered before me and for the women of our pack who need a voice".

The room erupted in applause and the Alpha's stood to bow to me like in times of old. I found myself overwhelmed by their fealty and words of loyalty. Now, finally realising the weight and burden my new position carried. When the room cleared and it was just Dimitri and I alone, he got down on one knee before me. I tried to pull him up but the fat, stubborn lump refused to budge.

"I, Dimitri Greyson, Alpha to the RedFang pack and mate to the Alpha Queen of our people, offer my loyalty and support throughout your reign. May you live a long life and may you be blessed with only happiness".

I was choked by his words and when he rose I hugged him.

"I love you" I said.

"Good, because I love you too".
