《White Wolf Legacy {Book One}》RedFang's Plight

I struggled to raise my head as the door to the underground cells I was currently being held in opened with a sharp bang. I was being held captive by silver chains. These chains were attached like handcuffs around my wrists and the chain was attached to the ceiling high above my head. I was suspended in the air and my feet barely touched the cells cold floor below me. My shoulder often popped in and out of place but I kept the pain at bay by reminding myself that Violet was safe. After our remaining warriors were defeated I was knocked out and dragged down into my fathers cells and woke up in this position. The silver prohibited me from healing after the fight yesterday and I cursed myself when I thought of how bad things were. My only saving grace was the fact that the women and children had reached the safe room before the last of my loyal warriors were apprehended and I was the only one who knew of that passcode. I didn't even trust Milly with it.
So fuck them if they think they will get it out of me.
They had spent the last few hours waking me up periodically only to pummel me like a punching bag when I refused to give them the passcode. I spat out a chunk of my own blood onto the cell floor as I watched with absolute horror as the Alpha's I had planned to meet today were all lead directly into the cells around me. I sighed and looked towards my feet and hung my head low. I was embarrassed by the entire situation to be frank. Never in RedFang's history had we been invaded by our enemy, had our women and children threatened and half of our male warriors turn Rogue. To face the other Alpha's in the room was a bitter pill I was not quite ready to swallow. When they were all separated and the doors to the cells locked behind them the Rogue's minions left us in peace and I feared the onslaught of anger which I knew was to come. They were most likely brought here under the pretense that I had invited them and I dreaded the anger which I knew would be rightfully directed at me. I should never have invited them in the first place, or trusted Beta Richard.
"Are you alright Son?" spoke one of the Alpha's.
I raised my head and stared into the eyes of the one Alpha that was respected most of all.
Alpha Kiron.
I sighed but blinked my response. His knuckles turned white in anger as he gripped the cells bars. All of the Alpha's stared at me with pity and I turned my head away to avoid it.
"Hang in there brother, our warriors should get us out of here when they struggle to mind link with us". Said Alpha Byrant.
"You fought bravely brother, with honor, do not beat yourself up over it" said Alpha Jullian.
"Your women and Children"? Queried Alpha Cane.
"Safe" I sighed.
"Look at me son"
I lifted my head reluctantly towards the strong voice of Alpha Kiron in shame.
"You did everything you could and more. You should be proud of yourself".
My eyes were dim as I returned my gaze to the floor.
"She would be proud of you, Luna Violet that is".
My head shot up towards the feminine voice which spoke. The woman in the cell on her own I presumed to be Luna Farah. When my gaze landed on Byrant I had my answer. He kept gazing at her through the bars which separated them. It was killing him being separated from her.

"Thank you Luna Farah".
She gave me a small reassuring smile.
"Son, where are the rest of your warriors"?
My eyebrows furrowed as I looked back towards Alpha kiron. He kept using 'son' instead of my title I noticed. I guess I no longer deserved the title of Alpha anyway.
"Half of them betrayed us and turned Rogue the other half fought with me against them. The ones who survived have been taken hostage. There could not be more than 60 of us left I'm sure".
Farah gasped and the other Alpha's tried not to let me see the shock on their faces too. The look on their face was nothing compared to the one on mine when I watched with my own eyes as wolves, my brothers and my friends walked towards the Rogue King and embraced him as their king. I spat more blood onto the floor and Alpha Kiron gave me a concerned look again.
"No need to worry Alpha, I'm fine" I said.
He nodded and began to pace quietly in the cell he was situated in. All of the Alphas were separated. No one shared a cell. One young man I failed to notice until now sent me a comforting smile and a nod which I returned. He held Alpha blood and I concluded he must be Kiron's son. He had yet to take his position in his pack and as Alpha Kiron rarely attended the council meetings none of us had met his son before.
"I am kieron" he said.
"Nice to meet you, I am Alpha Dimitri or well, I used to be" I said.
The other Alpha's tutted at my own personal jab. Alpha Kiron looked so pained by my restraints that you would think it was him being wrapped in silver and not me.
"Stop pacing Alpha Kiron, apart from a dislocated shoulder I am fine. It will take a lot more than this to kill me off".
He sighed and placed his hands on his hips.
"Don't be so humble brother, I'm sure you have a few cracked ribs aswell".
Alpha Cane sent me a smirk and I returned it wistfully.
"You cannot die here" said Alpha Kiron.
"He won't" said Luna Farah
"I'm sure Luna Violet would not allow it". She said matter of fact as she gazed lovingly into her own mates eyes. My face turned serious and so did that of Kiron and his son Kieron. They looked uneasy and this only added to my own insecurity.
"She cannot come here" I said.
Luna Farah looked at me with confusion.
"I sent a Beta from the defeated Bloodstone pack by the name of Alec to stop your arrival for the Alpha meeting today and to warn you of the Rogues intent. I also sent him to protect my Mate. With all of you standing here I can see he failed in that task".
"He might have failed but your Beta Matthew didn't. He found our Moonlight camp where we are stationed a few miles west of here. Violet is safe in that camp with our warriors, we sent him back to warn you of information we had discovered surrounding the downfall of Bloodstone. That was two days ago. My guess is that he never reached your territory alive. But she is safe. For now at least." Said Alpha Kiron.
I closed my eyes and sighed when I thought of Matthew, probably my only loyal Beta. I pulled on my chains angrily and hissed when my shoulder burned.
"If Beta Alec failed to inform you today, I can only hope he has found your camp and will keep my Luna away from here".

"Mm.. I doubt that" said Kieron. He laughed to himself and my eyebrows furrowed.
"She has no reason to come back here anway" I said strongly.
"She has three reasons to come back here'. Said Keiron.
"And those would be?" I asked impatiently.
"Her mate, her father and her brother are all hostages" He confirmed.
My jaw dropped as I looked between him and Alpha Kiron. Recognition dawning on me when I spotted the similarities. How could I have missed it before? Looking towards Alpha Kiron in mock humour I said..
"I guess that explains your nick name for me. Not to mention your paternal interest in my health" I said and he snorted.
"Don't flatter yourself, if you live through all of this you still have to deal with me at the end of it all". His voice was stern and I grinned.
"Violet been telling tales about me has she? Well it's nice to know I'm still on her mind". I said.
The air began to get tense but the door to the cells opened again. All the Alpha's straightening their spines in preparation for our guest. Alpha Byrant moved closer to the bars of Farah's cell and looked about as feral as anyone could get.
"Have we finished with the family reunion"?
A deep guttural growl eminated from my chest and the other Alpha's turned towards me questioningly. When the visitor revealed himself his face wore the human skin mask I had last seen him in and Luna Farah took a step back from her cell door as he approached her cell.
"LEAVE HER BE"! I shouted
He turned to me slowly and grinned. His vile and putrid yellow teeth and breath permeated the cells air around us.
"Still alive are we Alpha"? He grinned.
"Ohhh and look what we have here, more useless Alpha's"
Cane and Jullian growled in warning at his insult but the Rogue King waved it off like he was merely swatting away harmless flies.
"You two have yet to find your Luna's I see" he concluded and both Cane and Jullian looked to one another confused by his statement.
"Have you told them of my trials or did you leave the juicy surprise to me". The Rogue King said as he looked to me with glee. When I sneered at him he continued with his monologue.
"You Luna Farah will be joining me" he said.
"Touch her and I'll rip your throat out"! Growled Alpha Byrant.
"Promises, Promises" he laughed toward Byrant.
"I do hate all that fuss and screaming of a woman. So how about I say something which will make you come with me willingly"?
...
He looked towards Luna Farah now and my eyes pleaded with her but she could not see me. The Rogue King had blocked my view of her. I did however not fail to notice Alpha Kiron's face. He looked like the world was about to end and his son also held the same expression.
Did they know what was coming then?
Did they know of the cruel trials this 'King' was setting Luna's"?
"My my, you are a pretty little thing. But is that all you are or do you have it in you to be a Queen".
Her face contorted slightly as her back hit the wall of her cell. He opened her cell door and Byrant turned into a maniac trying to bend the bars to get to her. It was painful hearing his shouting and cursing as he injured himself time and time again trying to break and bend the silver bars to reach her. It was as if he would have walked through fire for her. Burning himself continuously in his attempts to reach her. His love for her broke all of us in the room. Farah held her hand up to him and he stopped when she sent him a look. The love which passed between them was clearly visible and heart breaking. When she turned back to the Rogue King she moved away slightly from the wall and fixed her glare on him.
"Speak plainly and not in riddles. What is it that you want with me" She said.
Her voice was firm and it was a shock to hear the power behind it considering how dainty she looked. All the Alpha's in the room regarded her with pride at how well she handled herself considering she was cornered.
"I want everything from you" he purred and began to extend his arms towards her face.
Byrant's chest heaved as he struggled to contain himself and his rage.
"Touch me and I'll make you regret it for the rest of your life" she spat.
The Rogue king grinned.
"That's what I'm looking for. That power".
He leant in so close to her face as he inhaled her scent. Fair play to her, she managed to keep her composure but I'm pretty sure I would have gagged.
"I like to play a little game and I do hope you'll join me in it. It's a little childish I know, but makes me feel alive. If you want to keep your mate alive you'll do it for me".
Farah's eyes widened as she looked down towards the small space between them misunderstanding him.
"Oh no, I won't touch you. Not unless you're the one I'm looking for and even though I know you're not, your trial will keep me entertained whilst I wait for her".
His head swung around to look between Alpha Kiron and me. It was clear as day that he was referring to Violet. Alpha Kiron stuck his face so close to the bars of his own cell that his cheeks started to burn with the silver contact.
"You let me out of this cage and I'll give you the trial of your life. If you dare to touch my daughter, you will wish you were in hell by the time I'm finished with you". His voice was low and menacing
The Rogue grinned and ignored him. Turning back to Farah he told her of his plan for her. All the rest of us could do was stand by helplessly and listen as she agreed wholeheartedly to his trial by combat in order to save the life of her Mate. I tuned out the screaming of Byrant after that as he continued to beg her not to go, not to leave the cells and not to give a damn about his life but she ignored him like any true mate would.
Because she loved him.
And her love for him would be her doom and we all knew it.
Just like I knew that Violet would do the same for me her father and Brother.
After Luna Farah left us, all we could hear in the darkness of the cells was Alpha Byrant's soft cries. Looking at him, I knew I was looking at my future self. It was inevitable that Violet would come here now.
It was only a matter of time.
