《My Muted Alpha | ✔️》CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

"That's ridiculous! Ouranos has been in a coma for almost nine years already, and all of a sudden, he wakes up?" I ask, my eyes narrowing with speculation.

Azrael lets out a heaving sigh, his eyes never leaving mine or Kronos, "We don't know Rhea, but we will soon if Kronos goes to the hospital to see him."

Coco nodded, adding on quickly, "Of course, if you're ready. We won't push you to go, but we really do suggest you going to see him Alpha."

We all turned our attention to Kronos, waiting for his decision. Surprising us, Kronos purses his lips and gives a small nod.

Our jaws dropped to the ground, shock written all over our features. Kronos only tilted his head, as if confused at our reactions. He looked like a lost puppy...

Rain made a weird sound with a mixture of a howl and purr,

I let out a awkward laugh, but it sounded more like wheezing. Clearing the dirty images Rain was sending me, I cough out, "I guess we head to the pack hospital then."

They all nodded at my suggestion.

***

Three words.

Kronos. Major. Breakdown.

He was currently pacing back and forth outside his father's door, debating on to enter the room or not. Hope filled us when his hand reached for the handle, but it washed away when he dropped it.

Azrael groaned in annoyance, "Dude, we got here three hours ago and you still can't enter? You've made up your mind by coming here, don't stop now."

I flashed daggers at Azrael, my fangs extending with a low growl. Knowing he overstepped the boundaries, he bowed his head and apologized, mumbling Luna and Alpha.

Coco made fun of him for that, causing Azrael to pout in the corner.

Having enough with the nonsense, I pace myself over to Kronos. I study him for a few moments, before asking, "What's wrong?"

Kronos took a deep breath, grabbing his notepad and flipped a page; writing in it quickly. I peered over his side, and it said, 'What if he blames me for everything like mom has?'

I scoffed out, "If he does, I'll just rip off his balls and make him chew on it. No one hurts my man, because an insult to you is a insult to me."

Looking at his reaction, it was a horrid one. Kronos seemed afraid of me, in a playful way. I grinned, flipping my hair.

He smiled finally, before giving me a curt nod. I could smell determination rolling off him, before he made a quick move and turned the handle. The door opened slowly, making a creaking sound.

Kronos gave a stern look towards Coco and Azrael, his eyes telling them that they were dismissed. They bowed their heads slightly, obeying their Alphas wishes.

I trailed behind Kronos as he took a step into the room, closing the door softly.

Examining the room, I noticed machines beeping and many get better gifts scattered all over the ground. My eyes finally landed on a man who looked an exact spitting image of Kronos. Except, much older and more tired looking.

When we entered, he was staring off into space until our scents invaded his nostrils.

"Long time no see Kronos, Rhea," he greeted, his voice deep and frail.

I didn't know what to say but wave back awkwardly. Kronos on the other hand just stood there stiffly, his gaze lowered onto the ground. He was sweating, nervousness shown on his face.

Concern shown in Ouranos eyes, "Son? Is that all you have to say to your father after so long? Don't you need to explain to me why Rhea is here with you?"

Kronos shook his head, his fists clenched. Ouranos gazed settled on me, seeking for answers. I breathed, this isn't going to be good.

"I'm his mate," I reply out slowly.

Happiness lit up in the old man's eyes, "Is that so? Wow, I have a daughter! Now, this is a great way to wake up! I have so many things to tell you Rhea."

Joy spread through my entire being, knowing that I've been accepted by Kronos father. Then I remembered my question from earlier, and debated on asking it.

In the end, I did, "Ouranos, how did you wake up?"

Ouranos looked taken aback, but gave me a small smile, "I felt the title of Alpha being officially taken away from me. My wolf sprinted into action, waking me up. You see, when the Alpha finds his Luna, the title from the old pair that had the titles are ripped away."

That's neat. I nodded at the information, bitting the side of my cheek.

Wait a minute... if he woke up from the title being ripped away from him... why didn't he wake up to stop Gaia from abusing Kronos?

What kind of bullshit is that?

'Rain seethed, growling.

Enraged, I calmly asked Ouranos a question no one else wanted to say.

"Ouranos, why didn't you wake up any sooner?" I asked, trying my best not to take my anger out on him.

It's not his fault and he didn't know but seriously?

Instead of waking up to your own son getting abused and stopping it, he wakes up from the title being taken away from him.

Confused, Ouranos only looked at me in wonder. "What do you mean? I was seriously injured. I mean, I was-" he paused, groaning as he held his side.

We all widened our eyes, thinking something was wrong.

He raised his hand in the air as to reassure us. "I'm fine. My side is just a little sore and my lungs haven't been used in a long time. I can't imagine what it'll be like when I try to walk. Usually, people who wake up from coma's don't get all their bodily functions back. They've been asleep for so long. But since we're werewolves, we have a fast recovery time. Doesn't mean we don't feel the aftermath though."

Kronos released a sigh, glad that his father wasn't in danger.

I nodded, "I see. So you'll have to practice walking then?"

Ouranos nods in agreement, "Correct. My lungs are burning as we speak, and my throat is on fire." He paused, continuing, "But as I was saying... something huge has to happen for me or my wolf to wake up."

I blinked once... maybe twice before frowning. "So, Kronos getting abused and nearly killed by your own mate... wasn't enough to wake you up? He was blamed for you falling into a coma."

There, I said it.

There was no coming back.

Looking to my side, I see Kronos widen his eyes in fear, as he started to swallow hard. I felt his nerves rise, afraid of what his father would say.

"... What? There's no way." Ouranos said, denial written all over his face.

I felt bad for the next sentence that was going to escape my mouth, but it had to be done. He had to know, even if it hurt him.

"Sir," I paused, catching his attention, "Kronos is mute."
