《My Muted Alpha | ✔️》CHAPTER FOURTEEN

"We're losing her!"

Losing who...? Why is it so dark?

"Where's the pack doctor?!"

"I'm right here god dammit. She's lost a lot of blood, give me O+, we'll need to do a transfusion stat."

Transfusion? Who needs blood? Why can't I open my eyes?

"Get the fuck out of my way! That's my best friend!"

"Ma'am, we can't have you do that. The Luna is in critical condition." A nurse said.

"Coco! We have to move out of the way."

"Azrael, I swear to fucking god. I love you, but that's my best friend right there. She's dying for gods sake! What do you want me to do? Stand around and do nothing?!"

Was that Coco? Why is she freaking out again?

"You're not helping by screaming. The doctors are doing what they can. Come on, we have to wait outside until they're done with Rhea."

A sniffle escaped from what I believe Coco. I could hear Azrael comforting her. Noises were all around me and I could hear the hospital staff running around to help me.

That's right... I was attacked by rogues after speaking with Kronos. I shifted and tried to defend myself. Did I win?

Was I dying?

It's so cold.

"Alpha! What are you doing here?" The pack doctor said. "You want to donate your blood? I mean... yes. It could speed up her recovery with your blood. You are an alpha after all."

"Doctor, he's O+. It would be best for him to donate under these circumstances." A nurse said.

I could hear the clock ticking, "Alright, are you sure? She requires quite a lot of blood."

I heard a pen scribble, and I knew it had to be Kronos.

Kronos... my mate.

Was he donating blood for me?

I tried to keep listening to their conversation, but my consciousness soon faded away to nothing.

Beep... Beep... Beep...

What's with the machines? Where am I?

Rain voiced in a worrisome tone.

My eyes shot open at the mention of my mate. Where? Where is he? I attempted to sit up, only to let out a pained groan. This body of mine was stiff as a rock, preventing me from making any sudden movements.

It felt like I've been through hell and back.

As I took a look around my surroundings, my eyes landed on him. He was currently snoozing away on a chair next to me, holding my hand softly.

The sparks erupted between us, causing butterflies in my stomach to flutter. It was a nice sensation, one that can never be replaced.

A smile graced my lips, gigging how cute he looked since he was drooling. When I moved to wipe it, I let out another pained whimper. My side felt like it was on fire, along with my shoulder and left leg.

Kronos must have heard my small cries because he automatically bolted up and searched for any signs of danger. Once he concluded that there wasn't a threat, he looked over to my direction.

Grabbing his notepad, he quickly wrote on it and it turned it over, 'Are you okay? Does it hurt? Do you need some water?'

I shook my head shyly, finding his worried state adorable, "No, I'm fine. I don't need anything."

Kronos finally sat down on his seat, looking a bit defeated. His form seemed haggard, almost as if he had been awake for a while. There were slight bags under his eyes, and his hair was more fluffier than usual from his hands going through them multiple times. There was an IV in his arm and it connected to my bag that hung in the corner of my bed. A orange juice along with some fruit laid next to him.

He really did donate blood for me...

"Thank you, for saving me, Kronos." I said, smiling.

He blushed but quickly nodded. But his smile soon disappeared and his face turned serious.

I furrowed my eyebrows, "Something wrong?"

He wrote onto his notepad, 'Were you attacked by rogues?'

Bitting the inside of my cheek, I debated on telling him now or later. Eventually, he would find out and it's better for him to be prepared rather than later if that Fortrista chick decided to show up.

Once again, I nod. Kronos let out a dangerous growl, eyes pitch black in anger.

I rolled my eyes, "Calm down, I handled it. Though, I do need to talk to you about something else before we move onto the topic of Rogues," I paused. "Can the Luna ceremony be done soon? I couldn't link anyone because of it, along with me being gone for nine years, the ties that I have to the pack are pretty low," I said in-a-matter-in-fact-tone.

He looked taken aback before thinking thoughtfully. Kronos purses his lips, before doing a thumbs up. I laughed at that, he's so silly sometimes.

Then I noticed a speck of dirt on his hair. Thinking back, it was probably from rescuing me. When I reached out to remove it, he flinched away.

I frowned in confusion, before Rain whined out,

'No, I don't think that's the case. Anyone with a case of abuse would react this way, some different, but flinching is one of the common signs of it. He's been abused Rain, we have to pace ourselves to his level. We can't just touch him casually,' I reasoned.

Rain whimpered in response, cutting the link.

It was hard for her to understand since mates would usually mark and mate each other the very day they meet. In this case, however, was much different. Things were going at a slower pace, and I was worried if I would have to be sedated when my heat came in two weeks time.

When I diverted my attention back to Kronos, his eyes were fogged over.

Just then, the door opens to reveal the pack doctor. He was a middle-aged man, but smiled at me kindly. I smiled in return, knowing that he came to check-up on me.

After a quick look-over, the doctor, who has introduced himself as Robin, has instructed me to be careful not to open any stitches on my side. The wound from Gaia was still there, but faint since my werewolf abilities healed it up quickly. Of course, the new ones that were from the rogues were already healing nicely.

He soon checked up on Kronos as well, noting that he was alright with the blood donation. He even gave Kronos some more juice and some medical advice to not push himself too hard. As he donated a lot of blood. He had to take it easy.

Later that day, Kronos checked me out of the clinic.

I was free to go back to the pack house, along with one other thing. He has informed me that the Luna ceremony would be tonight.

Rain barked out, yipping happily in my head.

Yes, yes your majesty. We are indeed becoming Luna's of the pack.

I cut the link once more, musing to myself the possibilities of tonight.

When I returned to the pack house, Coco was there waiting for me.

"Thank the moon goddess, you're okay." Coco cried out, jumping at me and hugging me tightly.

I hugged her in return, as she wiped away her tears.

"Azrael had to calm me down. I swear I was about to wreck shit up. But... you're okay now. That's all that matters. Wish we knew who did this to you. It was rogues, right?" Coco said, holding my hands.

I nodded, "I'm fine now. Still in pain a little, but medication is kicking in. And yeah, they were rogues. Not sure who they are, but one of them introduced themselves as Fortrista. I'm assuming she's the leader of their pack."

Frowning, Coco squeezed my hands in reassurance. "The whole pack is on more alert now and Kronos basically doubled the patrols. Azrael would be here as well to welcome you back, but he joined the evening shift. He'll be back later. We'll find this leader of theirs and bring her down."

This made me at ease. My best friend always knew what to say to me.

Letting go of my hands, she snapped her fingers as if she remembered something. She had a dreamy look on her face. A certain area on her neck marked, almost as if it were bruised.

A sly smile appeared on me as I nudged her, "Did you and Azrael get down and do the dirty Coco?" A small frown but definite blush of embarrassment appeared on her face. BINGO!

I started laughing uncontrollably, catching the attention of some pack members who were giving us curious glances. Deciding to have some fun, I bellow out, "MY COCO JUST GOT LAID!! SHE GOT THE D!!"

Immediately, Coco slapped her hands onto my mouth, dragging me upstairs and into my room. Which was now repaired after I had destroyed it earlier.

She turned around and faced me, fuming. "What the hell Rhea!"

I only shrugged, "What? It's the truth. Besides, you were so loud yes--"

"Okay! Okay! I get it!" She chirped in, interrupting me. Coco glared at me playfully, before asking, "Want me to help you get ready for the ceremony?"

My eyes lit up in excitement, "I thought you'd never ask!"

Sitting on the chair in front of the mirror, Coco grabbed some of her supplies, humming a small tune. She looked at me reassuringly, giving me a wink to trust her.

"I'm going to make sure that even Kronos can't keep his hands off you," she teased.

Oh boy... this is going to take a while.

***

245 tugs, 39 burns, and 69 punches later, my head was finally done. Yes, I punched Coco 69 times. I mean, what did she think she was doing to my poor head? I'm going to end up bald!

"And... done," Coco said optimistically, telling me to open my eyes.

Hesitantly, I did, but I didn't regret it one bit because I was awed at the results. Even though it was a light eyeshadow, it matched my skin perfectly. The black eyeliner she applied over the eye shadow made it pop. My lipstick was red, but the amount of mascara on me wasn't as much as I thought to be. Overall, I looked pretty hot.

I squealed happily, hugging Coco tightly. She chuckled at my reaction, before showing me a drop dead gorgeous dress.

She just keeps blowing me away doesn't she?

Unzipping the dress, I step into it. Coco zips it up for me as I admire myself in the mirror. It sorta felt like a wedding, but in some way, I guess it was since I had to pledge myself forever as Luna to this pack.

Looking at the time, I realize I had five minutes left to get to the ceremony. I started panicking, rushing Coco to finish. She hurriedly put on the finishing touches, before rushing us out the door and down the stairs.

Tugging me towards the stage, I'm suddenly blinded by a bright light.
