《9 Dragon War God》Ch - 5 - Formal Instruction Starts

Long Shen excitedly opened his eyes and jumped out of his bed, took a deep breath of the fresh morning air & looked at the chirping birds on a tree outside his window... "Finally!" He exclaimed and rushed out of the room to get ready for the instruction...
Shortly afterward he arrived at the teaching platform that is surrounding a huge tree and Sr. Wong & Sr. Shen were having a cup of tea and enjoying the morning breeze of the spring, the lovely scenery of the mountains that surround their monastery acting as a natural defense as well as a natural safe haven for ascetics with its innumerable natural caves along the mountain chain so that the monks can live there as well as cultivate in seclusion when needed, it was said that the senior-most monks were saints cultivating in peace for countless years and no one in the current generation has seen them...
Long Shen came running and greeted with full of energy "Good Morning Grandpa, Sr Wong.."
"Hmm from today onwards I will be your formal teacher you Should call me Master from now", corrected Sr.Wong.
"Long Shen understands master..." said LS ( from now on consider LS = Long Shen.... :D) with his hands cupped and lightly bending towards Sr. Wong.
Sr.Wong created a fire in his palm and looked at LS "ok kid .... do you want to be able to create fire out of thin air, play with it and become an extremely strong martial artist?"
"Yes!! Yes...!" LS nodded his head furiously.
"What do you think is necessary to become the most powerful expert standing at the pinnacle of this world? Is it Money? , Family background? political connections? , most outstanding cultivation techniques? Cunningness? Luck? Ruthlessness? Being Sinister and Manipulative? Or anything else?"

The 7-year-old Long Shen was thoroughly confused and said "Grandpa Wong! What does it have to do with this question and teaching me this fire technique?" With annoyance.
" It's Master Wong for you now!, now tell me the answer or else I will not teach you..." said Mr.Wong sternly folding his hands and looking at the poor kid LS
" Is it Money?"
'No..'
"Cultivation Technique?"
'No'
"Family background?"
'No'
"Ruthlessness?"
'No'
"Ahhh!! Then what is it, master Wong?"
"You need to answer my question first... Why do you want to be powerful??" Asked Sr.Wong
'When did I say that? I don't want to be powerful..' replied LS.
" You just said you wanted to learn my Fire technique, didn't you..? By learning this technique you will become more powerful than you are right now and also you will enter into the world of cultivation.... it is not necessarily a good thing... With great Power Comes Great Responsibility... I watched you grow up and would rather have you stay the way you are living a happy normal life till your ripe old age without being tainted by this unforgiving and ruthless world of cultivation... Brother Shen would also like that but we want to know what you want to do...." said Sr.Wong.
" I don't want to be powerful, I just want to play with fire as you do ... that's it!!" Said LS
"Ha ha ha, To play with the elements of nature like fire, you need to be a cultivator .... are you sure you want to become a cultivator? There is no turning back...." said Sr.Wong gently stroking his long silver beard.
"Yes..." shouted LS excitedly
" This must be destiny and no one can stop destiny, even if we intervene .. it will only delay the inevitable... we did not calculate your future according to stars because we wanted to wait for your decision so that we can get a fix of the anchor/turning point in your destiny.. these points will always reveal your future potential no matter how much the heavens tries to hide its secrets, the seekers of heaven's secrets will always be marked by the heavens and will face disastrous consequences if we meddle with destiny / try to peek into someone's future too much, but the anchor points will always provide a workaround for us to safely predict the future potential.." said Sr.Wong with a triumphant smile

Sr.Shen slowly moved forward and handed Long Shen a jade tablet... " Shen'er this is the method to accumulate Qi in your body and how to activate your Dantian, once the Dantian and Qi are activated you will enter this endless world of cultivation, there are no limits to one's cultivation unless you stop it yourself, the road ahead will not be simple... you will understand our words when you grow up... now start by activating Qi and then accumulate it in your Dantian..."
LS has always been a quick study and extremely intelligent he has already mastered the manuals of Low-Level Apprentice Alchemist Sr.Shen gave him, but Sr.Shen forbade him from making pills until he was 9 years old.... although LS didn't know the reason behind it, he absolutely followed every word his grandpa instructed him to do... LS revered him like an almighty god...
LS carefully studied the tablet, memorized everything before returning it to Sr.Shen and went to his room to practice the method...
To be continued....

The Silver Mana - Book 1: Initiate
I used to be a healthy, young guy with a normal life - I had a career planned in professional soccer, a girlfriend, lots of hobbies, and loads of fun. Until the accident. Which changed my life. A few years later I had adjusted to my new reality, adjusted to being in a wheelchair, adjusted to having someone take care of me 24/7. And then the world changed. Old people and kids did not make it. And neither was I supposed to make it. But never count me out. If anything, I am tenacious. This new world was different. People could do magic. And there were monsters. And what about me? I had mana as well, silver mana. Which no one else seemed to have. The only problem was, I did not know what to do with it. Until I really needed to. Author's note: This is the rewrite of Silver Mana. The first bunch of chapters (until I will have caught up to level 2 of the dungeon) should be quite familiar to people that have read the original. There are some changes in content, but the story follows the original fairly closely for at least the first 150-200 pages. Most of the changes are in the writing, and some of the details of how things work. A few of the side characters get a bit more attention too. Some general comments to avoid disappointment: 1. The MC likes to swear. If you object to reading the word "fuck" at least once and usually multiple times each chapter don't read the book. "Fuck" is such a great, allencompassing word... fuck that; what the fuck?; fuck me! Fuck! one word, expressing so many nuances. And, frankly, the people I know that use fuck as a swear word.. they often use it a lot. 2. If you are looking for immediate progression, rapid advancement of the story, etc.... read another book. This one takes a bit. 3. I am NOT Pirateaba (who is writing The Wandering Inn) or anyone close to that level of productivity. If you expect to read 10k words every 3 days, or even just once a week... sorry. I've got a busy life. This is for fun, I have no patreon, paypal, anything, so I write when it is fun and however much is fun. Not more. And sometimes that turns out to be a decent amount, sometimes nothing. I have another book (Marrow) so that complicated things - basically I switch between the two whenever the muse strikes me.

Quest of the Seal Bearers - Book 1: The Warriors Return
On the distant world of Mendala, a rash of mysterious attacks have left many towns destroyed, and there are rumors of an army of monsters. Fantasma, leader of the global government, and his colleagues are determined to find cause of these attacks. but the search for answers points them to an ancient relic, The Book of War, a cursed artifact that can create indestructible creatures loyal to its master. It’s been over twelve thousand years since the Book of War was last opened. It was believed to be destroyed during the Great War by the Twelve Warriors and Daughter of the Sun at the cost of their lives. Now, it seems the book has resurfaced, and its new master is seeking to forever tip the balance of power. The stage is being set for another Great War but who can stop the Book of War once and for all? Meanwhile on Earth, the teen members of Greengale’s Action and Adventure Club are preparing for their yearly trip when they suddenly stumble upon a secret their parents have been keeping for years. Now their world is being turned upside down as they struggle to understand the legacy that ties their fate to Mendala and the Book of War. Is their destiny set in stone, or will they forge a different path? No matter what, their choices will bring forth a new era for Mendala. ------------------------------ If you love vast fantasy worlds, rich, fleshed-out characters, and a adventure where your'e constantly discovering new things along the way, then this is definitely a story you'll enjoy. This is a slow-burn high fantasy / adventure with many characters and intersecting plotlines. It’s a quest so lots of adventuring, exploring, and character moments, but not a ton of fighting/action (though there are definitely some great fight scenes as payoff to the buildup). Because it’s a fantasy world with lots of people and new concepts, I try to make it easy so that you don’t have to memorize anything. The narrative will constantly remind you of important people/places/concepts as you keep moving forward. Some things won’t be fully explained right at the beginning to avoid information overload. My goal is that the reader will learn things organically as the story progresses. I use two mechanisms to help with the intersecting plotlines. - Each chapter is named for the (main) plotline it’s following and which part. - At the beginning of the chapter, and anytime there is a scene shift, the location is listed. Also, though this is definitely a portal-fantasy (isekai) it’s different from the standard isekai, especially since the world transfer doesn’t happen immediately. It’s not Lit-RPG but characters gain powers and grow over time. Also, it’s a group of teens that transfer, not just one central character. All of the teens are distinct characters, with their own character-arcs, relationships, powers, growth etc. Hopefully you’ll find this interesting as you’ll see the world and story from multiple perspectives. The story is always in 3rd Person (Omniscient) POV so that it’s not jarring as perspectives shift.

The times and struggle of a orc cook in the Demon Lord's army. (On Hiatus due to reasons seen in summary)
Title needed a change. So a full honest update to you all who are reading and following this story. I'm putting this story on a Hiatus not only because of I'm trying to improve my spelling and grammer (which is slow going) but also due to other reasons listed down below. 1) The story is getting a full re-write as these last months have given me time to see what I have already writen and what else I have planned is not gonna work no matter how much I've tried with what I call 'test chapters' to see how what works or not. 2) I don't really have the time to write, mainly thanks to life deciding to throw a bunch of stuff and leaving me exhausted both mentally and physically. And what little free time I have is barely enough for me to do anything that other than sleep or play a game for maybe 15 min. 3) I have a job and bills to pay. Some of which are overdue. It also dose not help that thanks to the new inflations in prices, I've been struggling to get things in order. So now you all know. Once things have calmed down and gotten somewhat in order again, I'll be posting the new first chapter as soon as I can along with a new summary for the story. Until then, I hope you all have a nice day and enjoy all the other stories you can find around this wonderful site.

It'll be easy to date him, they said."I think it would be best if we stayed friends, it would be much safer that way."
