《My Journey as the Fox head clan》24. A brother's return.

The next morning Yilas woke up when it was high noon, and as soon as she got up, she looked under the bed for Sabal but he had already gone. When she went outside, Viosus had already gone too, Little Crow said the two strangely went hunting together.
Yilas felt relief as she didn't have to deal with the two troubling men today, she went to help Merth cooking when Lyth ran screaming.
"Master! M-Master! Berthort, Berthor...." Lyth was huffing and puffing, her words barely made any sense.
"Slow down Lyth, take a deep breath before you speak again." Yilas gently told Lyth tho she was too focused on starting a fire with Merth's help.
"It's Berthort! He's awake!"
Upon hearing her words, Yilas and the others dropped whatever they were doing and ran into the room, Berthort was actually sitting up on his own, he saw everybody came in so he greeted them with a smile, his face was still pale and lifeless but the most important thing was that he managed to wake up
"Berthort!" Before Yilas could call his name, Little Crow and Merth had already yelled it out while jumping out of joy in front of Berthort.
"Crow! Mert! Master!" Berthort called their names as Little Crow and Mert jumped into his arms and started crying loudly, they were crying so hard that all the tears and snot came running down Berthort's arm.
Yilas was also happy and emotional hearing their cries if her eyes were normal it would have been filled with tears by now. Instead, her eyes just reddened up and the scar on her face turned pink.
"I'm okay now... don't cry like I'm about to die." Berthort was like a big brother, patting his brothers' head, trying to comfort them.
Yilas didn't notice when Lyth had gotten behind, both of them were standing near the door when Lyth started tearing down. Yilas held her bony shoulders, wiping away the tears with her hand.
"That's right guys, don't scare Berthort off as soon as he woke up. We should make him some good food to eat and let him have lots of rest!" Yilas softly remind the bunch and they all agreed. Yilas, Merth, and Little Crow went back outside and prepared for their lunch. The whole time the two couldn't stop talking about taking better care of Berthort, Yilas silently watching them lovingly, the atmosphere around them became extremely harmonious. Yilas had forgotten when she became so relaxed and happy around everyone in the clan.

After some meat was grilled, they brought all of it in the room and eat it with Berthort. Nonstop waves of laughter filled the house, even though there wasn't much food to go around, everyone was happy sharing and celebrating Berthort recovery.
After lunchtime, Viosus and Sabal still hadn't returned, Yilas went to the creek to wash the clothes by herself while everyone was enjoying their midday nap. There weren't many clothes but it still made Yilas's arms tired caring all of them to the creek, she placed them on the bank and started to sit down and to start washing when an idea hit her.
Yilas had been thinking about creating a product that could help them to trade with the Goat's city, Yilas haven't seen around them any container products like bowls, buckets, etc... Moreover, these types of products can be made easily by knitting bamboos or sculpting out of pinewood which was plentiful around them.
Yilas smiled brighter and brighter as she thought up a plan in her little head, she was confident that it would be useful and well-received by the people of the Goat's city. Yilas continued to wash the clothes, she got all giddy and excited as she couldn't wait to discuss it with Viosus when he got home.
As Yilas thought about Viosus, she realized her thoughts were all related to him. She wondered since when did he become such an important part of her life that the first thing she thought of now was to tell Vio. However, Yilas was turned, she didn't know if she loved him like a lover. Moreover, the issue with Sabal hadn't been resolved, and now, since Berthort had wakened up, she was afraid that Sabal might ask for his repayment soon.
The difficult situation put a long sighed on Yilas's face, she was so lost in her own thoughts she didn't realize a giant brown bird had landed on the tree nearby her, it's light yellow eyes were secretly watching her from afar.
*KEeeeAAhhhh...*
A loud bird call woke Yilas up from her daydreaming, she looked up to the sky to see a brown hawk soaring in a circle above her. Since the sunlight was reflecting against her vision, she couldn't make out exactly who what kind of bird it was.

The hawk abruptly plunged from a great height onto the creek close to where Yilas was standing and swooped up in just a blink of an eye. Yilas was startled by the motion so she shrieked loudly and jump onto the bank while trying to catch up the bird's movement.
Unfortunately, the bird had already landed in front of Yilas, stunning her backward. Yilas fell on the ground when she saw the giant brown and white hawk approach her.
*KAAAWWWKK...*
The bird chirped again before transforming into its human form, it turned into a light brown hair youth with sharp yellow eyes with a wide grin on his face.
"Oh my goodness, you scared me to death Neo!" Yilas exclaimed as she recognized the familiar face, she scolded him but immediately got up and patted his head smiled at him. His beautiful, adorable face was something Yilas thought of sometimes during the last couple of days, she had worried if Neo and the others were safe. Seeing Neo here Yilas could somewhat be relieved of her worries.
"Yilas, look what I found!" Neo excited showed his hand to Yilas, a small rock with a golden color was neatly sitting in his palm, Yilas knew it was gold immediately, her jaw dropped on the ground.
"Wow! Did you just get that from the creek?" Yilas's mouth opened widely, her eyes twinkled the same golden color as the gold in Neo's hand. Seeing how excited Yilas was, he put the rock in Yilas's hand and laughed out loud.
"You can have it, there are plenty in that creek, I will find even more of these for you." Yilas didn't refuse his kindness, they laughed and chatted as they sat down in the bank.
"Why did you come back here?" Yilas asked Neo, he had just flown out of nowhere so she was curious if the others were here too.
"Of course it's because I missed you so much." Neo grinned from ear to ear, his beautiful dimples and fangs made his cute, delicate feature more lovable. He nudged Yilas arm with his elbow teasingly. "Also, I have liked this place so much that I wanted to stay here, so when we had gone half-way, I had asked Brother to come back to the clan without me."
How could he be so impulsive, his brother must be instant too for letting him go so easily, YIlas thought to herself as she questioned Neo's immaturity, he must have just done whatever he wanted without thinking again.
"So your brother and the other two had already gone back to the clan?" Yilas wanted to make sure they didn't make up a plan to kidnap her out here when there was nobody here to save her.
"Yes." Neo smiled happily, Yilas felt the sincerity in his eyes so she didn't mean to press the issue any longer. "By the way, did you miss me when I was gone?" Neo sincerely asked, his face slightly turned red as he looked for the answer in Yilas's eyes.
"Haha..." Yilas chuckled softly "You had barely left so how am I supposed to miss you." She patted his bareback like they were good old pals but Neo couldn't hide the disappointment on his face, Yilas continued. "So many things had happened since you were gone that I barely even have any time for myself."
"Is that so?"
Neo got curious so Yilas explained to him everything had happened in the past few days, but of course, she left out the stuff that happened intimately in secret between her and Viosus and Sabal. She could somewhat guess how Neo would lose his temper if she mentioned anything remotely related to those two.

Unknown Fate's End
The ancient's believed that a man's fate or destiny is written already, and that only God or maybe the Gods could change it. If they did change it, it was believed it was for a purpose unknown to that man or for maybe for the ammusement of those higher beings. However, whether that is true or not, one thing is for certain. Changing a man's fate will create a ripple of changes. Join our hero, who whether by luck, by some divine intervention, or by his own choice, separated from the fate that he shared with his fellow earthlings. Watch him struggle in his new world. Watch him grow. Watch him learn. Watch him walk a path oustside what destiny has for him. FYI: The magic concept in this story is high fantasy with involvement of polytheistic religions and demons. There will be a mix of GameLit style writing mixed with traditional magic novel style writing. The plot developement will be slow in the first volume, as I will focus on world building and character building. The main character will not be OP immediately and will develop into one in his own way over time. This series is built less like modern Japanese, Korean, and Chinese webnovels and more like the old school fanstasy novels like DND and Forgotten Realms.
