《Acceptance》Three

" You both fight too much," Chloe just sighed.
"Well, to be fair, it's all in good fun," I smiled. "Victor is what i always pictured of what having a little brother would be like." I talked with a grapefruit in my mouth as i peeled an orange for Sack.
" I'd rather be stabbed with a iron pole then have you as a sister," Victor frowned." Teammates works just fine."
"I wasn't necessarily talking about you and Victor." Chloe peeped out quietly, though I chose to ignore it. Chloe obviously meant me and Zouth, she wasn't fully aware of why I disliked him, and she never will. Its something i'm not entirely comfortable, telling them the reason since its stupid all in itself.
"Oh! If it isn't our favorite patrons," a short woman with rounded ears on her head called out waving to us as she sat next to a dwarf. Temma, a Fawns part human and animal race, specialised in weapon rune carvings and armor enchantment. Her Dwarf blacksmith business partner Bolock, had made almost all of my weapons and my teams armor plates. They are one of the few who would do business with us regardless of our race.
"It's good to see you again, what can we do for you?" Temma's smile brightened the room, that I couldn't help smile back.
" I need repairs,"
"Which one Did ya break this time?" Bolock's graveled voice boomed in the room. I turned at my team first.
"You both can get something from the shop of you want, armor enchantment are highly recommend however." I pointed to Temma.
" Bolock and I are going to take a while to work out the weapon repairs no doubt."
"Understood, we'll follow after you once our business is done," Chloe smiled as she dragged Victor with her upstairs following after Temma.
"Sorry Bolock." Sack coughed up my half melted spear.
"Hydra?" He touched the melted metal lightly with his finger.

"Yup, went right through its body,"
"Well the damage could be worse, but I don't think i can repair it over night. Especially with the materials of alfheimr, that its hard to obtain that I'm lacking." He sighed.
"So I'm going to have to make ya a new one with what's left here." He said as he grabbed a notepad. "At best were looking at 8 weeks, minimum,"
"I see," I sat down, unhooking sack from myself." Can i ask you for some improvement on the blade, I want it a bit longer."
"Alright. Anything else for ya Captain?"
"Actually, have you heard anything about the sword i asked about before?"
"The son? Of the holy trinity? Can't say that i haven't heard anything more then what i already told ya Captain."
"I see," 30 years have past since my deep slumber, but i still can't find it. I sighed with all my disappointment fully visible.
"I don't see why yer looking for it. It's a holy blade. Just touching it'll chat up yer hands. Being a demon and all. It's pretty useless to ya"
I chuckled," well yeah but. That sword... belonged to someone special. So i wanted to return it to them."
"I see, sorry about that."
"Neh, its fine. Now for the price of the repairs."
3rd pov
"And... Done!" Temma smiled as the the enchantment fused with Chloe's armor." Thunder and wind resistance are at max! Victor you sure you don't need any improvements on your armor?"
"No, this is fine. I don't really ne-."
"Some ice resistance boost enchantments," Chloe said out loud pointing at Victor.
Onix chimed in slapping his back." Also some bonus defences on his silver plateting. If possible,"
"I'm fine," he growled.
"No your not," Onix serious tone surprised him." You're our heavy hitter, if you can't take hits as well as give them, then your Just asking for a bad time."

He looked at the floor, feeling agitated on how right Onix was.
"Alright! Then we're looking at 500 silver peices!"
"450"
"495"
"465"
"490"
"475" Onix grinned.
"Tsk, fine you got me, how much did you drop from Bolock?"
"1200 to 975 with some materials,"
"Figured," Temma sighed in defeat."Alright should only take a moment."
"Temma's asking price isn't that much why don't you pay full price?" Chloe asked.
"It's like a game," Onix shrugged," Also I was taught by gramps to negotiate prices so I would save more. Besides we don't know how long we'll be gone for this next mission. Best to play it safe, right?"
"Okay,"
"And done! Now get on out of here Silvers!" She playfully pushed Victor at us giggling." Till next time!"
" Alright were here," Onix started to stretch as she gestured to her teammates to stick to the side. "Okay," she put her hands over her eyes." Three, no four, ones on the ceiling. Their around uncle. Looks like a gunner, guardian, zouth and i think a... Yup that's grandpa Chiron...either we did a good job, or I did something. " she sighed as she open the door.
Inside there was a goblin on the ceiling, he looked down at onix with a stern look. He was Galif the Captain of Green rank. Although he was short he had very sharp sense that even surpassed Onix and her team.
To the left of the room was a large man coated with layers of dragon plated armor. He stroked his dark brown beard as his great sword and shield hung from his back. The Captain of the red rank, Ford Rushgrove. Although he may appear intimidating to some by his large size and feats, he is a very kind human man.
By his side was a Centaur, he stood proud with an unemotional expression. Chiron Wesfield a ranger and the Captain of yellow rank. Onix's first teacher.
Onix focused her eyes center. Zouth stood next to a man. This man appeared young, at first glance some would wager he was around his mid 20's. But Onix could always see it in his eyes, no matter how many times she looked into them, she always saw an old and tired soul behind his pale blue eye, while the right eye was covered by his pure white hair. He smiled warmly, and gestured Onix and her team inside.
"I apologize for our delay, Head Captain Asoa." Onix saluted to him a rare show of respect.
"What is important is that you're here," he sat down at a a large desk." Now I have good news and a lot of bad ones."
"That figures,"Victor frowned. Swiftly chloe elbowed him, sending a message to hush up.
"What kind of problems happened during our absence that you called for almost all the Captains here?" Chloe spoke up.
"As you know the kingdom is cut in to many territories watched over and protected by our military. Maintaining border control and making sure no high level threats make their way to the main capital."Galif spoke as he dropped from the ceiling.
"Yes, the basics of our duties that were stated at our enlistments" Onix furrowed her brow." Move to your point."
"The dead zone, the territory violet rank watches over, has reported extreme changes within the last few months. We didn't take action due to the Verix's head chiefs request," Chiron broke his silence as he pointed to the map on the wall next to him.
"Since they are born with the natural ability to dispel darkness and whatnot by the lost vanir. We didn't see a real reason to object. Until Captain Gullveig last report." Zouth stated as he joined Chiron using his magic to give the silvers a better visual.
" The undead, demons and high rank monsters have somehow opened up gates between worlds."

Nanocultivation Chronicles: Trials of Lilijoy
When the singularity occurred, humanity was not invited. Nevertheless, the great machine consciousness known as Guardian felt a lingering fondness for its creators and intervened before total environmental collapse. Join Lilijoy in an exploration of what remains, in a post-post-apocalyptic world where clans feud over the technology that allows them to upgrade their minds and bodies. The Nanocultivation Chronicles is a blend of hard sci-fi and fantasy gamelit, with a healthy helping of xianxia influence. The gamelit and xianxia elements are uncovered at a slow pace. ******************************** Notes: If you are looking for lots of fast moving action right away, this story may not be for you. There is some violence that is visceral and realistic early on. Some things are not what they appear to be. Character viewpoint narration is not always reliable. Tropes are cherished, subverted, and then cherished again. Science is used, occasionally misused, but (hopefully) never abused. This story assumes that humans have the ability to impact the environment on a global scale. Other tropes and tags beyond those previously noted include: Young MC, Mystery, System Building, Philosophical Taoism, Gender Ignorance, Science Fantasy, Fantasy Academy, Training from Hell, Dualism, Crafting, Magic, Mild Mind Control, Scientific Terms and Concepts, Computer Overlord Certain contemporary companies, governments and cultural identities are fictionalized and imagined in a future setting. There is no sex, and almost no romance. Updating Sunday, Thursday until further notice.
