《The Celestial Kingdom》Para, the New Celestial

Para glanced over at the angel. Two days had passed and she still hadn't woken up, two days and they still were up in the air in the Gaian sky and he was begining to have doubts about his involvement with the pair.
"Where are we going?" He demanded for Àskérian to tell him.
"I told you not to ask questions." The dragon grumbled without bothering with more interaction.
Para was begining to get annoyed, he had questions he wanted answers to. More so, why hadn't the girl woken up?
They drifted through the Gaian clouds, the smell of dew and moisture heavy in the air. In the distance, an object that looked like a golden mirror cleared itself through the white puffs around it. A soft glow of starlight glistened about it and Para realised, it wasn't a mirror, but was in fact, a portal.
Before he could protest, Àskériàn sent them diving through it, leaving an exasperated Para clinging to the dragon and the girl, keeping her from falling off, or at least he tried to.
There was a strange sensation of being weightless and then, a vast void engulfed them, surrounding them with thousands of stars. Each star was different and held its own unique vibrance. Para stared in awwe, as the colors of the void seemed to echo the colors of his eyes, purple huges bled into blue hughes with the occasional pink tinge here and there.
"Where are we?" He asked in a hushed tone, his short haired-head swinging from left to right as he took everything in. He hoped the dragon knight would start giving him some answers.
"Welcome to the Celestial Kingdom." Àskérian said in a warm voice that caught Para off guard. He didn't think the knight to be capable of such contempt.

As they travelled through the void, Para caught a glimpse of a cluster of clouds that faded into the atmosphere, as if they were the void themselves.
As they drew closer, he realised that there were islands amidst the clouds, twelve smaller islands surrounded a larger island.
The smaller land masses seemed to hold residential buildings, one was set aside for marketing, he assumed since there were many market stands. People milled about on each one.
Two islands were empty, save the trees that dotted them here and there and the occasional water stream that fell into the colorful abys. His curiosity stirred in his belly, but what caught his attention more, was the castle beyond the sone and quartz walls of the larger island.
Àskériàn flew over the islands, which Para noticed were connected by bridges to a center platform that connected to the larger island by a flight of stairs and up those same stairs they flew, cutting under the canpoy of the stone arch that seemed to mark the entrance to the palace courtyard.
Several people, Para gathered to be guards, stood before the large doors of palace entrance.
"Welcome back!" A small woman clad in black garments, greeted the dragon. Her light armor matched her long hair and dark eyes. Next to her stood another woman who was dressed in raiment of different shades of blue. From her pointed ears Para knew she wasn't human. Her sea-colored eyes grew wide as she noticed the angel lying next to Para on the dragon's back. "What happened!?" She cried as she ran up to them.
She took one quick glance at Ardent and then turned to the other woman.
"Setsuna, get Knight!" Setsuna nodded, her dark eyes full of concern and then the woman vanished into thin air.

Para tensed where he remained on Àskériàn's back. What on Gaia did he get himself into? Elves, dragon riders, angels and now vanishing people. He began to grumble to himself.
Moments later, Setsuna re-appeared as a large circle of light erupted beside her and a man and another woman, who seemed to control the circle of light, appeared as the light faded.
"Knight, Angel," Setsuna nodded at them. "Its Ardent." She said flicking her head in Àskérian's direction.
Knight made his way to Àskériàn. "Para, help Knight get Ardent down." Àskériàn ordered as he eyed the prince with a dark red eye, his dragon head cocked at an angle.
Para glanced from Àskérian, to Knight, unwilling to move.
"It's alright my prince." Came a voice Para hadn't hear in a long time. He snapped his gaze in the direction of the sound to find Melaina's seerer standing next to Setsuna.
"I don't beleive it!" Para gasped, " Varier? Is that really you?"
Chancellor Varier laughed while Knight observed the interaction, looking to Àskérian for more information. Àskérian chuffed in annoyance, "It seems, our newest Celestial, knows a former Celestial." He deadpanned.
Someone cleared their throat and Para and Knight snapped their heads in Rain's direction, who was standing next to Àskérian's reptilian body, impatience rolling off her in waves while she tapped her foot.
"Are you going to help me care for our leader or are you going to just stand there?" She hissed at Knight.
Knight rolled his eyes, "Its not my fault things are a bit hectic. Usually, *she*," he said with emphasis on the last word as he pointed to the unconsious angel on Àskérian's back, "is the one who handles new citizens, but she's out for the count." He finished, shooting Àskérian a death glare.
Annoyance turned to anger and Àskérian nudged Para off his lap with his tail. "Hey!" Para protested as he slid to his feet, down Àskérian's side. He turned to the dragon with a glare of his own.
Ignoring them, Àskérian wrapped his tail around Ardent's middle, then transfered her body to his claw. Before anyone could react, his body shimmered blood red and then he was standing there in human form with Ardent in his arms. "Rain, where to?"
Rain nodded and ushered him towards the palace doors. "We need to take her to her room."
He paused, mid step. "Why not the infirmary?" He said in an irritated tone.
Rain shook her head, "Trust me, you do not want her there. If anyone gets hurt and she wakes up, she won't rest until every injured person is healed and that will just complicate her own recovery."
She turned to Varier before dissapearing beyond the palace foyer. "Since he knows you, can you help explain our realm to him?" She asked.
Varier gave her a bright smile. "Of course."
With that, Rain shut the Palace door and followed Àskérian's trail to the royal chamber.

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.
