《Magic Empireum: Blood Coin》27 - Celebration

"About the bet's, I think we made a lot of money."
As Mike was covering yet another wound with a bandage, he kept talking about anything that would come to his mind. He could divert Xyenna's mind from the painful itching that the medicinal paste inducted on her wounds.
"From what Damash told me, they wagered a lot of money on you, the commenting ruse included in their scheme to tilt the odds in Marcus favour. He promised us half of the spoils."
When he saw a shine appear in the girl's eyes, Man pulled the ends on the bandage and bound the tightened ends together. A burst of excitement was the best thing to distract his bodyguard from the bout of pain caused by the finishing touches of tending her wounds.
"We are done, try to raise your hands."
After good two hours of bandaging his friend, Mike was already numb to any kind of excitement from her naked body. Even when she struggled to move her hands up straight, her breasts didn't fire any sparks of arousal in him. He saw them for simply too long!
Mike stood up and reached for Xyenna's sacks. After rummaging through them for a while, he found a plain shirt. Pulling it down her arms, he breather out in relief when she was finally covered. Numb or not, it was embarrassing for both parties to keep her in nude.
"Good girl."
Reaching for the bottle with remaining half of the wine in it, merchant passed it his companion extended hands. After pulling out the gag from her mouth, Xyenna hurriedly started gulping the liquor down.
After throwing the empty container away, she swiped her mouth.
"Forget the bet's now. I want to have a real drink!"
After enduring the pain for a good while, a single bottle of wine wasn't enough for her! She just won the duel, withstand the torment her employer put her through and emerged victorious from all those events, she deserved a full-blown celebration! With the unexpected surge of gold from the bet's Mike mentioned, there was no need to hold back!

"That's a good idea. My hands are already sore from all of the bandaging!"
Curling the corners of his lips up, Mike stood up, picked Xyenna's hand and helped her move out of the bed.
"I wouldn't mind getting drunk tonight!"
The girl's body was truly amazing. Despite all the blood loss she suffered, she was able to stand by herself only after only two hours! While Mike's gift has its own uses, there was no way the merchant would be able to replicate her achievement!
As they exited the room and went down the stairs, as soon as their silhouettes appeared in the main hall, a loud cheer erupted!
Startled by the unexpected noise, the pair stopped in their tracks for a second but continued their march after a slight shrug. While the big room was filled to the brim with guests, an honour spot was cleared for them in an instant. Using the same skill that Mike was amazed by during his previous drinking adventure here, glasses full of beer and other brews appeared as soon as they sat down.
Looking in her employer's eyes, Xyenna grabbed her first mug and chugged it down in one go!
At this sight, the hall instantly broke in cheers again!
"Everyone, one for the Xyenna, the winner of the duel!"
As Damash stood up and raised his mug, everyone followed suit. With another loud cheer, all glasses held by guest got emptied! All of them, with Mike's being an exception.
When Damash sat down and people calmed themselves, Mike stood up, raised his cup and said with his usual voice, not raised by even a bit.
"For Xyenna, who stood her ground against the assault of four different gifts at once!"
Those words stunned the crowd. While most of them were Noble's pawns, not even Damash knew how grave the situation was back then! Those words caused a short while of stunned silence followed by yet another noisy outburst!

After the situation finally calmed down, the proper celebration started. Maid's appeared out of nowhere with platters shedding an intoxicating smell. After refilling the tables and empty mugs with new content, they disappeared as quickly and mysteriously as did they show up.
Everyone got to eating right away. The smell already roused their hunger, so when the lids got raised and artistically arranged food revealed itself to the masses, everybody rushed into eating. Grabbing the meat with their bare hands, scooping the soup with their bowls… In a matter of seconds, what once was a feast to the eyes, turned into a battlefield.
Despite all the commotion, Mike noticed when a person dressed in expensive robes entered the tavern. With their eyes meeting, merchant nodded his head in a greeting. Sitting beside Xyenna, the young man had no way to move to greet him. It was on the newcomer's head to somehow close on him.
Despite how busy the hall was when people saw the new guest, they actually parted way's to let him pass! Just from this action, Mike could guess how important that person was in Noble's faction!
Despite all the effort he had to make to come here and reach Mike's place, this man just passed him a small paper slip and excused himself right after finishing his task! Making use of the perfect lighting in the hall, Mike unrolled the gift and read the contest.
'We won one hundred, eighty-six red goldens and seventy-two Tarels. Your share will be hidden between the wares on your carriage.
Count Hikar'
This short message stunned Mike!
He never expected for the winning from the bet's to be so big! To put it in simpler terms, one gold coin was enough for a person to live comfortably for up to two months! If one were to count the whole treasure, Mike could easily buy himself a mansion with that kind of money!
The problem actually lied in keeping it! Simply pulling out red golden in even the distinguished Inn would be considered flaunting one's wealth! If one were to count the entire wealth Mike brought to the Altarcia in the first place, it would amount up to four and a half gold coins!
With all the wares their entire company initially passed the border with, it would amount up to twenty red goldens! This only showed how insane wealth Xyenna earned without even knowing about it!
There was only one place where Mike could think of storing the money now. They had to depart as soon as possible while guarding themselves against robbers sent from the city or just common brigands!
Going back to his seat, Mike finally started sipping on his second beer tonight. The cold booze allowed him to calm his mind and stop thinking about securing the insane wealth he obtained. While he saw this kind of money before, it was the entire Xantia treasury at that time!
"Let's go back to sleep. We have to depart with sunrise tomorrow."
After drinking silently for a long while, Mike decided that no one would connect his decision with the message passed by the elegant messenger from before.
"Why? The fun is just starting!"
Xyenna protested without even looking at her employer. She did a great job in a fight and all the praises she received from everyone around only put her in an even more celebratory mood!
"Trust me. We have to go. Pretend that you are drunk."
The merchant didn't have the time to play along. Taking a rest took a priority now. She was still wounded, and alcohol would only slow down her body regeneration. Feeling the weight of the fortune on his chest, Mike couldn't help but worry.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
