《The demon of the past》Chapter 1: The town of Vale is full of adventurers?

Cela and Haze where walking through the tomb silently. Cela had an expression of joy while Haze bore one of confusion while looking at Cela who was radiating happiness. It would seem that Haze had given Cela enough gold to live a rich lifestyle for around 40 years and all Cela had to do was guide him to the exit.
'Who is this demon? To have so much gold in his small bags.' Cela thought idly while glancing over at Haze.
'Must be some kind of high noble who got himself stuck here.' Cela thought and shrugged.
“We are almost at the exit now Haze.” -Cela
“Excellent! It has been far too long since I have seen the outside world!”
As they reach the exit they are blinded by the rays of 3 stars that the planet of Kiera switch orbiting between. What star they are orbiting around determines the weather of the whole planet and if it's orbiting a closer star then it is of course hotter and as such summer over the whole planet. But if Kiera is orbiting a star that is far away then it gets extremely cold and winter all over the planet. And thus most of the creatures have specialized for survival on the planet. They are equipped with either hair so warm it melts snow in a 1m radius around them or have an internal mechanism which regulates the temperature of their bodies by using up more energy or less energy.
As such the creatures who live on Kiera are mostly ferocious beasts who eat a lot of meat. There are of course herbivores but they are usually small and insignificant and live underground in the winter and come out in the summer. The creatures on Kiera fight for survival as they kill each other and devour each other and so the population of the planet is of course well trained to fight and defend against them.
The races of Kiera once had no magic but that changed one day when some scholars discovered the remnants of a Faeling. Faelings are giant beasts as big as mountains and are thought to be invincible against anything other than themselves. The Faeling they discovered was a magical Faeling. There are 3 types of Faelings, the first of which is the magical Faeling, second is the physical Faeling and the third is the mythical Faeling which no one has ever seen before. The physical Faeling is a Faeling who cannot use magic like the magical Faelings can and they grant enormous strength when killed. The magical Faelings are Faelings who only use magic and have almost no physical strength whatsoever and grants powerful magic to the one who killed it. The mythical Faeling is a Faeling who has both the physical power of the physical Faeling who can cast powerful magic like the magical Faeling.

The scholars who found the dead magical Faeling studied the creature and learnt a small portion of its power and managed to become the first wizards in the history of Kiera. They came to be known as the wizards of origin and where hailed for being some of the most powerful wizards in the world.
Well with the history lesson over I will now continue the story.
…
As Haze and Cela took relaxed steps out from the tomb Haze was basking in the beauty of it all.
The stars rays beaming down through the trees and creating beautiful shadows. Haze noticed a significant difference already as the plants in the old world did not look anything like these. The plants in the old world where brown and red but these new plants ranged from green without flowers to green with multiple flowers in varying colour. The trees and grass looked a lot more lively and everything was a lot more happy looking than the cold desolate wastes where he grew up and lived until he was sealed. He was truly happy to see the world in such a wonderful light.
As he stood there basking the midday light Cela had already started moving away from the cemetery on her way home. She had gotten what she needed and did not want to spend another moment in the old ruins of the cemetery.
“Thanks for guiding me to the exit Cela!” -Haze
“No worries Haze and thanks for the gold, if you ever need help with anything don't be afraid to ask me. I live in a town not far from here.” Cela replied while smiling and then turning around and walking happily away glad to have met Haze.
As Haze stood looking at Cela walking away he started planning on what to do and where to go.
'I should search for somewhere I can find knowledge about the world as it is now. I will start with this town Cela mentioned.'
He started to walk slowly in the direction Cela was heading while admiring all of the new plants.
…
Fredrik is the commander of the guards in the Vale and is highly looked up on in the community for his outstanding leadership and engagement in his work. He is a role model for a lot of kids in Vale and is generally kind and helpful. However he takes his work very seriously and accompanies his guards on watch duty in case of invasions. This day was a fairly peaceful day with only a couple of beasts spotted with no attacks.
As he was looking out into the forest and trying to spot movement of possible beasts or demonic armies, he spotted a lone traveller who seems to be walking leisurely. However this traveller was a demon, war loving savages who live to fight. In Fredriks eyes this was a threat.

“Halt demon!” -Fredrik
“Hello humans!” Haze replied with a smile.
“State your business and we will search you for any weapons or other potentially harmful objects!” -Frederil
“I am seeking knowledge about the world and if I cannot find it here I will leave.” -Haze
“Very well. Guards search him!”
The guards did as they where told by their trusted commander.
“It looks like he's clean sir!” -guard
“Very well you may enter demon.” -Fredrik
And so Haze was on his way again. He was pleasantly surprised by the size of the town and the amount of people walking around. He didn't think much of the stares he was receiving as he thought it was the norm.
Vale was a peaceful place while still being near the border between Humae and Demda. Vale was mostly an adventurer town meaning almost all of the tax was generated by the adventurers who would pass by. It is a town largely populated by adventurers and merchants targeting their wares towards adventurers. There are of course some food stalls for the local residents and a couple of tailors but nothing big.
Vale has a massive guard force making up for ¼ of the population. The town was quite big considering it only had about 20000 citizens. The town was designed with safety in mind and it showed since all of the streets where patrolled and there where few dark alleys. Although despite that there is still a lot of theft since a lot of thieves want the gold the adventurers are carrying around.
As Haze had been wandering around aimlessly for the past 20 minutes in the town there was something that intrigued him. There where no weapon stands for citizens to grab weapons if there was an invasion. The citizens relied entirely on the local guards to defend them during an invasion. Haze had lived in a time where war between the 6 races was at its worst and they had skirmishes almost everyday. He had been a recruit in the early days of the war and had fought alongside his companions which he did not know if they where still alive or not. Many of his companions died in the early days, but the ones who lived where made into battle hardened elites.
As Haze was remembering such fine memories he suddenly smelled a lovely smell coming from a shop named The frolicking frog. He entered the shop and was greeted by shelves with small vials made with a technique of pottery. The material they where made from was similar to clay.
As he stood there admiring the beautiful designs, a man dressed in a simple brown apron, a dirtied white shirt and some simple pants came from around the back of the shop.
“Are you looking for something particular?” -merchant apprentice
“Well I would like to know what all of these vials are storing and what it is used for.” -Haze
“Have you never heard of alchemy before? The vials contain mixtures of different ingredients combined in an alchemy lab. The labs costs around 20 gold or so and are usually sold in general stores or specialized lab stores. The specialized labs are for those with a specific potion making technique and are usually ordered by blueprint or by description. Of course the best method of ordering is blueprint but some people can't afford the paper or the ink.” -merchant apprentice
“Thank you sir for the detailed explanation and excuse me but do you know where I could learn about alchemy?” -Haze
“There is an academy in Ark south from here although they have fairly strict policies for alchemy students.”
“perfect I will head there right after I get some supplies also do you happen to know where I might find some work?”
“Well there's an announcement board in the centre of town you could check out. Otherwise there's the merchant guild and the adventurers guild near the north gate. My name is Mike by the way. Mention my name if you're going to the merchant guild and they will surely pay you well if you can land a job.” -Mike
“Thanks Mike I will remember you and help you if I am in town!” Haze replied while exiting the Frolicking frog.
…
Deep into the territory of the Dwadra a beast awoke from his slumber. He stretches his giant wings and thinks 'It has been far too long since I last visited the humans. I wonder how they're doing, the selfish creeps.' He then proceeds to leave his nest high up in the mountains above a small village in Dwadra and fly towards the town of Vale.
…
Well I am going to end it here and thanks for reading and if you enjoyed or if you hated it please voice your opinions in the reviews or in the comments and I am going to be getting some action in the next chapter and hopefully this chapter has not been boring you to suicide.

Overgrowth
I never thought I'd be killed by butterflies. But here I am... Edmon Valli was a smuggler, before a freak storm threw him off course and stranded him on a desert island smack in the middle of an uncharted monster zone. Trying his best to survive, or possibly even escape, he stumbles across the find of a lifetime: an unclaimed dungeon crystal. This is a dungeon-ish story, but without reincarnation or transmigration. I started it as a whim for NaNoWriMo so I may drop it any time after that... or I might not. My current plan is to write until I can reach some sort of conclusion and call it 'volume one'. I hope someone enjoys reading it for now! All comments, corrections, and criticism welcome.
