Niche

NICHE WAS AMAZED WITH HOW COLORFUL her mother's words were. After they told their parents that Director Orebil of the CIA was the Big Boss of Libero, their Mom who was composed most of the times, were well, let's just say she unleashed her sharp tongue.

"Those motherf*ckers! Jackass! Shitheads! Cunning bastards! Son of a bitch!!!!!" after yelling, Mom looked at them. "Sorry about the words."

"That was... colorful." Niche sighed.

"Yeah." her three siblings agreed.

"Anyway, Nis. You were saying about the Codex?"

"Oh, that. Uhm, they have my backpack. They probably have it right now."

"What?!"

"Yeah. Sorry." Nis hung his head in shame.

"It's alright Nis. Don't be ashamed about it." Niche assured him.

The door to their, well, cell, suddenly opened. A certain doctor who wore a magician's hat, the director who always wore a suit, and a very familiar person, entered.

"Caleb." Niche heard Nica gasp.

"Hello kids." Orebil greeted. "Hello to you too Carmen and George."

"Director." her mom said the name with so much malice.

Niche noticed that Caleb's eyes were dazed, and that there was a black collar with blinking green light on his neck.

"Now, this young man should be familiar to you. Caleb Collins, wasn't it?" Dr. Crazy said to them. "My. How surprised I was to find him when we were tracking you, you know. We had a bit of a struggle capturing him and bringing him here in the main research facility!"

"Quite a strong boy too." Orebil chuckled.

"You shitheads!" Nica yelled and started to struggle from her binds. "What have you done to Caleb!"

"As you can see. He's the first succesful test subject for the Astil Codex Project!" Dr. Crazy laughed.

"I have the whole Warren Family in my hands to play with. And your boyfriend too, you traitor." Orebil laughed. "Be honored. You shall witness a changed and a unified world!"

"You're crazy!" the quadruplet's mom yelled to her former superior.

"Shut up b*tch!" Orebil slapped her. Hard.

"Carmen!"

"Mom!"

"You have been hindering Libero for quite some time, but now, all my plans and ideals will come into fruition!" Orebil faced Collusus. "Prep them and then start mass producing the Astil!"

"As you wish, boss."

Orebil left the room. Dr. Crazy's smile got wider and more ominous. "Let's start with you, Nica the Traitor. Bring her to the laboratory, Caleb."

"Yes sir." Caleb said in a dazed voice.

Dr. Crazy went out of the room too. Caleb went closer to Nica.

"Caleb, snap out of it! Please wake up!" Nica said in a desprate voice.

Niche understood why Nica was desprate. Caleb was her first love after all.

"Please Caleb. Please!"

But Caleb didn't wake up, nor stopped. He pulled out a syringe with a blue liquid and injected it to Nica. Nica's struggle became weaker, her shoulders slumped and she just stopped.

"Nica!" all of them shouted.

"Somebody, do something!" Nico yelled.

"Nica!" Niche called and struggled from her binds too.

Their parents tried to get to them, but they were chained to the wall.

Niche noticed Nis was being silent. Then, "Might as well try it."

"Nis?"

"The element of surprise." he sighed. "Astil Codex System Override. Code 564738, voice recognition pattern, Nis Alexander Bravo Cortes-Warren! Emperor Code initiate!"

Caleb suddenly stopped walking, with an unconscious Nica slung on his shoulder, and faced Nis.

"System Override starting. Code and Voice Recognition pattern accepted. Emperor Code initiated." Caleb suddenly fell to one knee and put a fist on his chest. "Yes, Your Majesty!"

"Uh, Nis?"

"Put down Nica and untie us, now!"

After a minute, all of them were free from their binds. Niche was still shocked by the sudden turn of events.

"Astil, deactivate."

The green blinking light was changed to a blue one and finally it stopped. Caleb slowly fell to the floor, unconscious. They put him beside Nica, who was still out of commission.

"You better explain, now!" Niche and Nico said in unison.

"What was that Nis?" their mom asked.

"I'll give you the quickest version." he answered. "I added a few codes and algorithms in the Codex. Which means, I'm the only one who can override it. And even Orebil and Dr. Crazy can't surpass my authority."

"You did what?!"

"Is that why you have been busy these last few days?" Nis nodded.

"And what if they realized it and tried restoring it?"

"Don't worry about it dad. I wrote an algorithm which would wipe out the entire content of the Codex and would render the Astil useless, if that ever happens." he answered. "Anyway, take off the Astil from Caleb. We still have a use for it. And we better get out of here. Dr. Crazy would wonder why Caleb hasn't brought Nica in his laboratory yet."

"We don't know the structure of the place. Instead of escaping, we might fall right into their hands!" Niche said.

"Well, it's a good thing I'm awake now then." they heard a familiar voice. "Because I know the place like the back of my hand."

"Nica!"

"How?"

"Because I helped creating it. I was the one who made the blueprints for this place."
