《Soul Status (HIATUS)》Chapter 2

As I woke up I slowly began to regain my senses and the first thing I saw was the glaring light coming from the sun in which I raised my arm to block it and I began to raise my body slowly. I looked around and began to check myself and after doing all of this, I was relieved to find that everything was alright and that I was still alive.
At this realization I grinned because it meant that I was able to survive against a really strong beast in which gave me hope for the future and just a little chance of me maybe graduating the school.
“But first thing first that beast that I encounter shouldn’t be near here because this area only has low-leveled beast and common rarity so to me that encounter is definitely strange, it just shouldn’t be possible. Unless somehow that beast was able to increase its rarity while living there, but those cases never really happen it basically close to 0% when a beast goes up its rarity. For now when I get to town I need to report this to the soldiers because this is really a serious case, and plus that mushroom beast lives close where my family lives so I must get to the town at my utmost priority.”
After finishing this thought I immediately began to stand up and looked at the endless grass plains around me and the path that was parallel to me, and finally I could see from afar the black mushroom who had almost killed me last night.
“Actually now that I think about it was I really attacked yesterday or was I unconscious for days? Wait a minute I can instantly solve my dilemma by getting my crystal gemstone!” I now got my bag and I put my hands inside to search for a hand-size object and then when I felt it I instantly yanked it out.

As I put my attention on the crystal I had in my hand I injected a little bit of my mana into the crystal in which automatically it gave me an image on the crystal about the year, month, day, and time of today.
What I saw on the crystal gave me relief because it looks like I wasn’t unconscious for days and instead what I saw was as I expected. The image specifically told me that it was the year 1790 A.S, month Gustan 22 , and the time currently is apparently 11:08 T.
Now that I settled that matter I am glad that these crystals are common and cheap because without them the whole world probably wouldn’t know the exact time of today. “I guess it’s now time to go.” as I thought this I began to put the crystal back in my bag and decided to still wield the dagger in my left hand as you might never know what might happen, and with all of this prepared I started walking back in the path really hoping that nothing dangerous comes across my path like yesterday.
After pushing myself to walk for 2 days and resting I finally reached the town in which unlike my home which was pretty quiet and there was only a small amount of people coming to the farm or in the farm, but in here there was a bunch of people coming to and fro between the buildings and the streets.
If I have to be honest then I felt like my chest began to tighten unto itself making a sensation of me being suffocated to death, and I couldn’t help but lower down my head and watch the floor. “Calm down there is nothing to be afraid of because as long as nobody knows that I don’t have a status they won’t do anything to me unlike I was little. Don’t focus on the past and just stay in the present while looking for the future ahead of me because now its different nobody knows the truth unlike back home.”

When I thought of it like that my body as a whole started to relax and the sensation of suffocation lifted and I could now raise my head without restriction or fear. It was now time for me to enter the town so I approached the guards who were in front of the very huge door and as I got closer one of the guards began to speak with vigor.
“Halt! Young man do you wish to enter the town if so then you must show your identification or else I won’t let you pass these gates!” The guard reached out his hand to me presumably waiting for me to give him the documents.
I went to my bag and got a rusty old spatial ring in which sure this might not hold too much inside but it was still enough to store my identification papers so I just put the ring in one of my fingers and using my mana willed the ring to bring forth the documents.
A moment later the documents appeared in my hands in which I lent it to the guard who after getting the documents scurried inside the guard station.
After a few minutes of waiting the guard got out of the station and gave me back the documents in which got sucked back into the ring and the guard said “Okay you’re good to go inside but first give me your hand before going in I first need to register you’re entry.”
I followed suit and gave him my hand in which he proceeded to slap something like a tattoo into the back of my hand and it began to sizzle, but then after a while it calmed down and stopped. The guard looked at me and said with strength “Welcome to the town of Verona!”

For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
