《Phantom Path》Chapter 9: Royal Calling
Advertisement
Four days had passed since that phenomenon, and now a little of their lives seems to be back to normal. But as Kaia's been noticed to be someone of special qualities, she was requested by the royal family themselves two days ago to meet on this particular day, picked up by a limousine assigned by them. Accompanied by Ronnie, Sareem, Viola and Conrad, Kaia progresses her way to the palace. And beside them, is a formation of police units who protects the vehicle as they make their way, clearing the street of all other wheels as they make it through strategic points on their travel to the capital of Wohlstand, Alma. At the sidewalks, road closed off from them, are civilians in wonder as the limo passes by, and atop the city, hovers a small airship watching everything, with Viola browsing social media on her phone, seeing nothing but Kaia as even big global media companies are treating her much more important than everything else.
"You're still going strong for the days that have passed," Viola tells her. "Even Sareem has quickly become irrelevant. No offence to you, Sareem"
"Hmph," Sareem flips his hair. "I'm just going easy on her, that's all"
"I see," Kaia giggles. "Well, thank you, Sareem"
"Ugh, I wonder how far we're gonna have to go?" Ronnie questions. "Damn it, why did those two have to be gone now?"
"Don't worry, master Ronnie!" Sareem says, placing his hand to his chest. "I'll protect you with everything I have"
"...Exactly," Ronny utters under his breath, wishing the spirit hadn't forced himself in their travel.
"It seems we're close, Madam," Conrad states.
As said by the reporter in the airship above, they touch the bridge that stretches across the sea. And beneath them, a duo of navy ships they see protecting them from the waters, fascinating them as they cross. At last, after taking a roundabout to the next, to the gates of the royal palace they arrive, being let through while soldiers push reporters back. And aided by Viola, onto the red carpet laid beneath their feet, dressed in her dazzling blue dress while flashed by the millions of cameras around, is Kaia who walks along with her friends, her skin almost sensing the stings of heat as the cameras click. Then like sounds of thunder, opened are the doors of the palace, its grandness showing to them the elegance of the interior with the group firstly greeted by an old elf who shows to them a bow of his head, guiding them to their destined meeting, with Ronnie turning his head to Sareem.
"Sareem, please don't do anything weird," Ronnie instructs, having a strange feeling within his gut.
"Hmm, like what??" Sareem questions, the spirit smiling as they make their way.
"Just...just don't do anything"
"Not even breathing?" Sareem tilts his head.
"You-" Ronnie stops, glaring at the spirit.
"I'm kidding...hmph, alright then. I won't even make a beep," Sareem promises.

To the old elf opening the door for them, are their eyes laid upon the very most important person they can see firstly; his statue chubby with a gold crown upon his head, sitting upon the fanciest chair around the dining table, the king of Wohlstand who is also joined by his family and one who seems to be a commander.
"Priestess! "A pleasure to meet you. Come, have a seat," The king states, Kaia following his request by taking her seat with the others standing behind her, feeling the sensation of chains on her limbs as she does so, nervous as she subconsciously compares herself with the family of nobleness.
"May I also have your full name?" The king asks.
"A-Ah...Kaia Peak, your majesty," She states, slightly bowing her head.
"Kaia Peak of Adal," The king repeats. "I visited my late niece's palace some time ago, but I cannot remember seeing your presence around. Were you a new servant before you were chosen by the goddess?"
"Well," Kaia goes, looking around at her friends.
"No, your majesty," Conrad answers. "The head of our house said Madam Kaia and her friends would take residence as the new masters and madam"
"Really?" The kind questions, waving his hand around as he ponders about their presence that seems strange. "So, you all became servants of strangers you barely know??"
"Ah..." The group sounds, becoming baffled at his words, not knowing how to reply.
"Well," The king chuckles. "It was her home after all, and she left you all her belongings as she wrote in her will"
"May I ask why I've been summoned, my lord?" Kaia asks.
"Ah, yes!" The king is reminded, smiling as he looks at Kaia. "As King Louis Bezelin of Wohlstand, and you as the priestess, we are to discuss your new role as the new duchess of your region"
Shocked they become of his statement, Kaia grabbing her dress as she becomes excited, yet a little fearful of what is happening. And thinking its coincidence or maybe not, is Ronnie who believes the overseer had something to do with this occurrence, wondering how he got a goddess to choose one of them as her new vessel.
"Tell me, when did you come to my homeland?" king Louis asks.
"About last week or so, your majesty," Kaia tells him.
"And are you not aware of the strong responsibility you have as Priestess?"
"I-"
"She's just tired, that's all," Ronnie answers for her, turning their attention to his informal way of speaking.
"Tired? Hm, the human's fat bottom must make her tired every five minutes," Another family member states, having the other members laugh, but not the king who gazes at her in knowing himself as being quite plump as well.
"Lady Ella! You should refrain from such jokes about the new dutchess. She has the power of the goddess to flatten this whole country if she calls upon that beast," The commander asserts, stopping their laughter, Ronnie's eyebrow lifting to hearing this as he accidentally eyes the pretty elf standing behind Lady Ella, her smile towards him having turn away, receiving no more attention from him as his gaze has run shy.

"Anyhow," The King brakes. "That will be the end of our meeting, for now. Please, enjoy your visit of my home"
"Well...I'd like to be excused," Kaia says, looking around at the members, feeling as they look down on her. "I had something important that needed finishing"
"Is that thing more important than dining with the king?" Lady Ella questions, her gaze disgusted of the humans before her.
"No, no. It's alright. it was a pleasure chatting with you, priestess Kaia," The king says, as the servants come with a banquet of lunch, Kaia bowing her head and getting out the room, followed by Conrad and Viola who also does the same, and inside the palace, Ronnie has decided on venturing around, secretly hoping he may find another scroll of spiritual slumber to replace Sareem as he's tagged along with him, leaving Kaia at one of the many balconies, the priestess looking over the city in awe with her body still shaken by the royal's aura, still processing her newly acquired role.
"Are you alright, your highness?" The commander comes, walking towards her with the support of a cane for his right leg, his long blonde hair swaying in the wind, joining Kaia in her observation of the city.
"Thank you," She firstly says to him. "I honestly had no way of replying to that lady's remark"
"No need to thank me. I believe though you are new to your role, you must be respected among the people. And that includes the members of the royal family as well"
"I see...can I ask you a question?"
"Of course, ask away," The commander invites.
"When you said I had the power to destroy this country, what did you mean exactly?"
"Hmm," The general sound, looking down at the city. "For many generations, a woman has always been chosen as the goddess' new vessel. The chosen is engraved with the mark of the beast that lives in the sea, below in the darkness, resting until it is called upon once more. This beast, as told in the stories, has the strength to destroy entire fleets of ships, and even a country, as the sea is like it's weapon, that it may use at your will. It's been five hundred years since a new priestess had come about, so perhaps you might serve a great purpose in the future ahead of you"
"I...I see," Kaia says, astounded by his words.
"Kaia!" Ronnie yells from below, gesturing that they can leave now. "We'll be in the car!"
"Can I have your name, commander?"
"Yes. I am the commander of the army that serves Wohlstand, I am Eric Wolff," He states, bowing to her. "A pleasure to meet you, dutchess, new priestess of Wohlstand"
"A pleasure to meet you as well. And goodbye, for now, General Wolff," Kaia says, shaking his hand., and so she leaves to go to her friends, her mind filled with potential frets and opportunities, both for her and Ronnie to think about as they head home to their residence in the hill of trees.
---
But in the aftermath of the meeting, retreating to his chambers, is a king who stomps his way to his bedroom, Louis whose face is shaped by anger as he is followed by maids, the three girls pouring a glass of wine for him as they enter, stepping back in the fear of his ugly expression.
"A fucking human...a fucking human girl!!!" He gulps his wine in his rising anger, flinging the glass across the room where it almost grazes the face of one of the maids who sounds in fear. "How can the goddess be so cruel...! First, it was my wretched disobedient trouble of a niece, and now a human scum lives in her house and takes her place. If the gods weren't watching me, I would have locked her inside a dungeon as my personal pet the moment she set foot in my palace"
And so he turns to the painting on his wall, to his father and younger self, his teeth-gritting and eyes twitching as he is frustrated by this odd predicament of the human who has stepped within his palace.
"Oh, father, what must I do? No way...no way will a human rule apart of my land!" The King states, then changing in another state of emotion, falling back onto his large bed as he's reminded of Kaia, remembering her curvy body that has pleased his eyes, with his mind getting filled with thoughts of her, imagining dirty things he would do, both vile and aggressive. "Yes...that's it...I should make her my slave,"
"Huh...?" One of the maids sounds, as they watch him begin unzipping his pants, surprised as they see him flashing out his small junk with puffing like a madman in a sudden mood of lust, slowly stroking it to the concept of what's under Kaia's dress as they watch in clear disgust.
"What are you waiting for?!" The king shouts at the frightened girls, eyeing them as he continues to stroke himself, and even with clear uncertainty in their eyes, they believe in no other choice, the three of them undoing their tops, unstrapping their bras, revealing to him their breasts that grow him more excited, as they together go forward with pressing their chest against his junk, pleasing him in whatever way they can.

Take Two!
College student majoring in botany has a fateful encounter with truck-kun while trying to get back in shape after realizing that his freshman 15 turned into the sophomore 20, and then the junior 30. After going through a very amusing(to some) hell, he gets the chance to transmigrate into a body of his own design on a magical world. Playing to his strengths, he chose the Plantkin race, and the new name of Sorrel to match. This is a slow-paced, magical, slice-of-life story with a focus on relationships. There will be sex(I'll try to keep the explicit stuff to a minimum, but it will be there), swearing, really bad jokes, and enough food to spoil your diet. There will not be a lot of action, epic quests to save the world, or anything even remotely resembling a big-bad-evil-guy(a few smaller bad guys, sure. But, no BBEG). Note: This is a re-write of my first story "Congratulations, You're Dead!". And, is much more what I wish I had written in the first place. The characters and the world are very similar, with a few key differences. The story may borrow some elements from Congrats, but should be considered as its own work. Reading Congrats first is not needed, or even reccommended, not unless you want to see some really cringey romance in the early chapters.

This fiction won't be updated regularly due to my own circumstances and while I will try to update it often, I won't always be able to. That being said I hope you enjoy this little work of mine. I'm not an experienced, and don't consider myself a good author in any way. But hopefully some people will enjoy this fiction like I do writing it, regardless of that.
