My true love gave to me…

Seven messed up lyrics

Six day shifts

Five dedicated rings

Four handpicked gifts

Three unique Stories

Two different households

And one giant excuse!

Brayleigh leaned back in his chair, he sighed and found himself slightly irritated that he couldn't fix this little issue.

"Why are these lyrics so bad? They seemed okay when I first wrote them." Brayleigh groaned, "It's only seven more lines, if I can find a way to make these into something good." He scooted forward in his chair and opened up his notebook. He stared at the words for a while, but found himself unable to think of any good lyrics. That's when his phone went off and he answered it quickly with a slightly irritated voice.

"Yeah?"

The voice on the line scoffed a bit, "I haven't heard you like that since you lived with us. Why do you sound so irritated?"

"Sorry Jess, I'm just a little busy with something right now." Brayleigh said pulling his hair tie out.

"I won't get in your business then, but we have to go shopping remember?"

Brayleigh found himself rubbing the bridge of his nose, "I completely forgot. Do you think I could rain check you for today?"

"I mean, it was you who wanted to go out today anyways." She spoke with a sarcastic voice.

"I know, but seriously, I can't today. " Jessica sighed.

"Okay, I'm fine with it, but can I at least ask what's more important that you're blowing me off?" Brayleigh smiled and picked up his notebook looking at the lyrics that were finished.

"I guess it doesn't matter and since you're her friend I'm guessing you're either going to tell her or keep it between you and me." He chuckled, "I'm making Cassie a song to give her as a Christmas gift... well an extra gift."

"Wow, that's amazing that you decided to even do something like that." Jessica snickered, "I guess since it's supposed to be all sweet and whatever, so I won't tell her anything about it." Brayleigh counted his blessings and thanked her, "Don't be all happy just yet. Anything coming from someone related to me has to be good; I don't want to hear the song but, you better not just send her an MP3, at the very least you should make her a little video."

"You really think she would like that?"

"Of course! She might act like she's not into that kind of stuff, but she's a total sucker for things like that." Brayleigh laughed at his cousin.

"Okay, I'll give it some thought and try to do the best thing that I can."

"Good. Then whenever you want to go out Christmas shopping, just text me."

"All right, but thanks a lot Jess." He then just heard the dial of the phone and found himself laughing a bit. "Time to get back to work."
