[Sissel is now sat in a circle with other people with Goldberg keeping his hands on Sissel’s shoulders. The room itself is bright, the ceiling having a large window in it with the sun directly above them.]
Goldberg: Just stay calm. If you’re panicking, tell Eggy and you’ll be able to leave. Okay?
[Sissel nods. He looks around the circle at the others with him. Directly across from him is an empty space for Eggy, the left of it being where Bugsy is now sat with his hood down and muscles showing. Next to Bugsy is a black haired man wearing a sleeveless white shirt with two downwards cuts in the back, looking very displeased to be there. Next to him is a light grey bloodhound with a red colour, baring a furry blue gremlin-like creature on his back with large ears and gills on the top of it's head and back. Directly next to Sissel is a girl with blonde hair in a ponytail and a baggy button shirt who looks miserable. On the other side of Sissel is a man with his hood up, legs folded in the chair. Between everyone is a sporadic amount of chairs, but everyone is still forming a perfect circle. As Eggy rolls herself into place, a ten year old boy runs up and sits on the other side of Sissel. Sissel looks to the child, who turns and smiles.]
Toby: [excited] Hi! Are you new?
Sissel: [anxious] Um… yes, I am.
Toby: [excited] Okay! I’m Toby.
Sissel: [anxious] Si- Cecil. I’m Cecil.
[Toby and Sissel shake hands as Eggy properly parks her wheelchair.]
Eggy: Now then.
[Eggy claps her hands and her outfit suddenly changes to be covered in a large brown and red poncho. She holds her hand out and gets a grip on something, quickly materialising a large wooden cane. She moves it in front of her, resting her head on the curved top.]

Eggy: Good morning, everybody.
All: Morning. / Good morning! / Morning Eggy.
Sissel: [anxious] H-hey.
Eggy: If it wasn’t obvious enough, we have a new arrival today.
[Sissel looks down. The girl leans over slightly.]
Talia: [quietly] Chin up, we don’t bite.
[Sissel quickly moves his head up straight.]
Eggy: Mr Mastin? Care to introduce yourself?
[Sissel hesitates, before slowly pushing out the chair and standing up. He looks at the whole group and takes a deep breath.]
Sissel: [anxious] I am… Sissel Mastin. And I… [quickly] I am panicking so badly, sorry.
[There are a couple of groans. Talia quickly gets up, holding Sissel’s side.]
Talia: [quietly] Calm down, take it slow. Imagine the words before you say them.
[Sissel nods, breathing deeply and closing his eyes. Goldberg smiles to Talia.]
Goldberg: [happy] Everyone is doing fine then, I see. That’s good. The blue thing is new.
Sissel: [calmly] Um… I have the ability to… I, um…
[Sissel scoffs, entering a small chuckle.]
Sissel: Know what, I’m not actually sure what it’s called.
Eggy: Well don’t feel that you have to tell us if you don’t want to. Would you like to sit?
[Sissel nods, then slowly sits down.]
Sissel: Thank you.
Eggy: It’s fine. Everyone else, if we’d like to introduce yourselves. Myself and Bugsy have already met him. Anybody else?
[The dog moves over towards Sissel with the gremlin on his back and starts to talk with a British accent.]
Bayard: My name is Bayard. This is Spike.
[The gremlin creature waves to Sissel, who hesitantly waves back as Bayard returns to his position.]
Spike: Hello!
Sissel: Talking dog and a gremlin...
Goldberg: [surprised] Well they must be new.
Talia: It’s not the weirdest thing, I throw up worms.
Sissel: [confused] What?

[Talia goes wide-eyed, going red in the face.]
Talia: [embarrassed] Um… I’m Talia.
[The two shake hands.]
Sissel: It’s nice to meet you.
Talia: Really? I’ve had better first impressions.
[She gives a nervous chuckle, then looks forward. Sissel looks a little longer then looks forward at Eggy. Eggy is looking expectantly at the other two members.]
Eggy: Gentlemen?
[The boy in the sleeveless shirt, budges slightly closer.]
George: My name is George Goyle.
Sissel: “Goyle”, like gargoyle.
Goldberg: [embarrassed] Well actually, Cecil-
[He gives a small chuckle. George then reaches his hand out slightly towards the sunlight from the window, his arm quickly covering in a grey stone texture. Sissel tilts his head back, surprised.]
Sissel: [surprised] Oh.
George: Yeah…
[George pulls his hand back, remaining in the same position that it did in the sun. He slowly tenses his hand, the stone cracking off of it.]
George: “Oh”.
[Sissel turns slowly towards the one with his legs crossed.]
Sissel: [embarrassed] Um… and what about-
Trevor: [stern] We met at the party.
[Sissel thinks, then realises.]
Sissel: Oh… okay.
[Sissel curls up in his seat a bit. Eggy clears her throat, getting everyone’s attention.]
Eggy: Well… we’ll get the boring stuff out of the way. Everyone talks about their week, highs and lows. How they’ve coped with their powers and if they’ve learnt anything…
[Eggy trails off. Talia leans over to Sissel.]
Talia: [quietly] Don’t worry, my first time was pretty awkward.
Sissel: [quietly, confused] What?
Talia: [quietly] The “Spaghetti Club”.
Sissel: [quietly] Oh! Right.
Talia: [quietly] Weird name… Bugsy’s idea, so not too surprising.
Sissel: [quietly] Yeah, that sounds like him.
[The two sit up straight, listening to Eggy. Talia leans back over.]
Talia: [quietly] Wanna step out for a bit?
Sissel: [quietly, quickly] God yes.
[Talia and Sissel stand quickly up.]
Talia: [quickly] I’m just going to show Cecil around quickly. If that’s okay.
Sissel: [quickly] Sissel. Also please.
[Eggy looks between the two.]
Eggy: I… suppose that’s fine. It’s his first time after all.
[Eggy smiles warmly. Sissel and Talia quickly move out the circle, moving down a corridor. They enter a light jog down the corridor as they move, Talia doing a quick spin to see if anyone is watching them. She giggles a bit to herself, doing a hop. Sissel looks to her, smiling.]
Sissel: [chuckling] You okay?
Talia: [quietly, excited] You have no idea how often I want to run away from this.
Sissel: That exciting, is it?
Talia: [quietly, excited] Trust me, you have no-
[Talia stops suddenly, starting to gag.]
Sissel: [worried] Talia? Talia, what’s wrong?
[Sissel quickly moves over to her as she starts to collapse, falling to her knees.]
Sissel: [panicking] Richard, come on!
[Richard walks up next to Sissel.]
Goldberg: [calm] Don’t worry, she’s fine. This happens.
Sissel: [panicking] Fine?! She’s not fine, for fuck sake, she’s-
[Talia suddenly retches on the ground. Instead of vomit, heaps of dirt start to pour out of her mouth and spread across the ground. At the end, a handful of worms falls into the pile and wiggle around. She coughs a bit, a few pieces of dirt coming out. She hits her chest and takes a few deep breaths.]
Talia: [embarrassed] Throwing up. Sorry, like I said, I can throw up worms. Wish it came up at a better time.
[She stands up, wiping a bit of dirt from shirt. Sissel looks at her in surprise, Goldberg patting him on the back reassuringly.]
Talia: [curious] So then, how are you talking to Goldberg?

The Storytellers
Myra Kahani lives in a world of gods and prayers. People around her constantly reach out to the gods for advice and suggestions at critical times in their life. But Myra has a problem. No matter what she does, she can't talk to the gods. When Myra meets Roam, an old, enigmatic Storyteller, she finally gets some answers. She learns of the origins of the Universe, the divide between mankind and their deities, and the important role that Storytellers play in her world. But the truth for Myra is just the beginning of her story. The Storytellers is a story that I began to develop from a series of shorter stories that I wrote for a mythology and folklore class. As such, they have a strong basis in the myths and folklore of various cultures and religions. Join me as I try my best to integrate these stories into my own and develop the world of the Storytellers and Myra herself. This is my first attempt at any sort of longer-form fiction so helpful advice is greatly appreciated!
