Roger Dream took the sword and covered it with a normal sheath and gave it over to his Grandfather. His Grandfather took the sword and unsheathed it, a glow refracted from the sun nearly blinded his eyes. He looked at the sword reflecting his face like a mirror. Both edges were so sharp, just by viewing the edges made him feel his eyes slashed.
"Grandpa. Bind it with your Qi, and check out its functions!" said Roger Dream.
He did as his Grandson said. After the binding completed, he could feel the unique camouflaging function of the sword. He was shocked because he has never heard of a sword that can do something like that. He knew that the sword is something valuable beyond measure and the shocking thing was he cannot verify its grade and also he felt like he will never be able to utilize the sword to its maximum capability.
He looked at his Grandson and said "Roger, I think you should keep the Sword. I am just an Oldman, and I don't need a treasure of this much value."
"Grandpa. Please just keep it. I have a Sword that is 100 times more valuable than this sword. So don't worry and use it. If you don't then I will throw it in the trash." he said.
Hearing him, he remembered the Sword that his Grandson used it to threaten him. After that, he nodded and accepted that sword, and he laughed "Hahaaa... Grandson if you consider this weapon as trash, then why don't you give a Sword like this to our every clansman in the future then our Dream Clan will become the Undisputed ruler of the continent."
Roger Dream staggered hearing his Grandfather. Looking at his Grandson's face, Jacob Dream got embarrassed. Then both of them started to laugh at the same time.
As the Grandpa and Grandson pair chatting happily, a figure is seen rushing near the cave where both of them stayed.
In his hands was a little strand of hair attached to a compass. This compass is known as Blood Compass. This compass is used to find the family members of the person whose hair tied to its hook. The hair was short looked like it belonged to a man.
He came near the cave, slowly spreading his Sovereign Force and formed a Sovereign Domain around a square kilometer.
The both Grandson and Grandpa pair felt danger as they quickly dashed out.
They saw a feeble Oldman floated on the sky. The Oldman was looking at a sword curiously and then looked at Jacob Dream.

"Dream Clan's patriarch. My greetings. I am Ou Zhenshan, the ancestor of Ou clan." he said while looking at his Grandpa.
"I know who you are. I never thought you would be alive all these years. What a surprise. By the way, return my Fuc*** Sword." said Jacob Dream in anger.
"Hahaha... I remember you when you were little. You're same as always, hot-headed." said Ou Zhenshan.
"I want to ask you something. Where did you get this Sword? It feels strange." he asked.
"Humph! Where I got is not your fuc*** problem. So return it." said Jacob Dream.
"Ok. Not a problem. After I kill you, the binding will be gone, and I'll know what's special about this Sword." he said with a smile on his face.
"Humph! Let's see who kills who!" said Jacob Dream.
The Ou clan looked at him confused by his statement and thinking whether he has a Trump card.
Taking this chance, his Grandpa said to him "Roger. Leave your Grandpa and quickly run away from here. And don't take any treasures out, it will be useless as he would steal without us knowing."
"I'll stall him for longer. Quickly escape!" he said using the whisper technique making only Roger Dream hear.
Roger Dream looked at his Grandpa and shook his head saying no. Jacob Dream was stunned by his Grandson's response.
"Little Brat, Run. Don't be stubborn. It will be useless if both of us die." he screamed in his ears in panic.
The Ou clan's Ancestor looked at them and smiled "Is your conversation over? Can I kill you know?"
He finished his sentence, and he pushed a palm sending out a dominant force towards them.
Roger Dream's Grandpa was in a panic. He quickly throws his Grandson from the attack range and countered using his powerful Mountain Splitter Move.
Both techniques clashed sending shock waves so powerful enough to reach up to 100 km. Roger Dream was shocked as this was his first time seeing powerful figures fight.
The Ou clan ancestor was also shocked seeing his attacked got blocked. Even though it was not his full power but it was quite enough to kill an injured Peak Sovereign Expert. He looked at Jacob Dream and said "I thought you were Injured. Looks like the Information was false."
Jacob Dream was panting on the Ground, regretting not consuming the Sovereign Ascension Pill. He never thought that this Old monster nicknamed "Shadowless Thief" would be still alive. This Oldman had numerous enemies as he would steal from a large number of people with his techniques, but someday he vanished, made everyone think that he was dead.

He thought of keeping the pill for his Grandchild. Because he never thought Ou clan as his real enemy but the Mysterious Expert was his real concern. That's why he thought, even the breakthrough is useless in front of the Mysterious Expert.
But now he got caught by the 2000-year-Old monster. And his Grandson's life is also at stake.
The Ou clan's ancestor looked at him and said "This must be your Grandson right. He looks like his father a little." he then took out the strand of hair and said to Roger Dream "Little Boy. Do you know whose hair is this?"
Jacob Dream looking at the strand of hair from the Blood compass he shouted in a rage "You bastard. What did you do to my son?"
"Don't worry they are fine. As a cripple, I don't see them as a threat. They are comfortable living in the prison house at the Ou clan, and I also ordered them to not be bothered. Think of it as compensation for the injustice done to your clan. You see I am not that bad guys. If I knew about the matters concerning the pill I might have stopped this from happening and this never might happen. But I can't change the future, so now I had to clean this mess."
"OK. But leave my Grandson alone. He's just innocent, and he knows nothing. Please." Jacob Dream begged at him.
"Hahaaaa... Dream Patriarch, do you think I am a fool. I can see the talent of your Grandson. I never in my life seen a Foundation stronger like his. It's just unbelievable. Just looking at him I regret so much. With his foundation and talent he could reach the Supreme level easily and even the fabled Immortal stage." said the Ou clan ancestor.
"Sigh! Looking at his heaven-defying talent, I am even tempted to switch sides and kill my own clansmen. If your grandson was still a child I might have spared him, but now I regret I had to kill him." he said with a pained expression.
Roger Dream was still keeping his cool without panic as he thinking of a way to escape. The Ou clan Ancestor looking at his calmness and he even regretted more and was cursing inside at the Ou clan's two Sovereigns.
He looked at Jacob Dream and said: "Time to die!" As he waved his palm again creating a more significant force now.
The impact made direct contact with his body. He was thrown out like a bullet crashing at trees and his body stained with blood. He was still alive, coughing up blood as he was hanging on to his life.
Roger Dream looking at his Grandfather he shouted in grief "Grandpa......" as he dashed near him and lifted his head into his lap.
"Grandpa. Grandpa. Look at me. Please Hang in there." he shouted while trying to take out the healing pill from his Spatial Ring.
His Grandfather stopped his hand expressing that its useless with the enemy around. Roger Dream nodded and didn't know what to do. Looking at his Grandfather's state tears started to form on his eyes.
Jacob Dream looked at his Grandson and said "Roger, I'm sorry. Grandpa couldn't protect you. I am useless." he said while tearing a little.
"No, Grandpa. Don't apologize. It's my mistake. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have got to this position." he said while crying.
"Brat. Don't blame yourself. It's not your mistake." said his Grandpa looking at him with a smile.
As Roger Dream was crying, Jacob Dream's eyes slowly closed.
Looking at his Grandpa, he shouted in extreme grief "Noooooooo......" The current Roger Dream was filled with heart-wrenching pain as he remembered the week he spent together with Grandfather. And his Grandpa's unconditional love for him and his sacrifice made him feel like his heart got stabbed by a thousand needles. Kanna and Mia were also looking at him with a sad expression.
The Ou clan Ancestor came from behind "Boy, don't blame me. Actually, I don't want to do this but. It's your time to die." he said and raised his hand to finish him off.
As he raised his hand "Shut up. You Fuc**** Oldman." he heard a voice full of hatred. As he looked down, he saw Roger Dream was looking at him with extreme hostility.
The Ou clan's Ancestor was shocked at that scene, he looked at Roger Dream who was looking at him while a Dark Aura started to form on his body.
The Oldman doesn't know why. But he felt the extreme danger to his life. He looked at Roger Dream, but for some reason, his legs started shaking in fear. He doesn't know why but he felt an extreme fear looking at this Foundation stage boy. Suddenly Roger Dream cultivation jumped to the Core Formation stage and kept increasing.

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
