《System of Gods and Devils》Chapter 2

A year-old little boy could be seen playing with a 5-year-old little girl on the banks of the river.
A couple seems to be enjoying the scenery and roasting the fish that they caught on the river.
Both of them were extraordinarily handsome and beautiful, anyone would see them will say, "Truly a match made in heaven."
The Little boy had a little wooden sword on his hands, like his sister, and was mock-fighting with each other. Anyone would see this, would smile from the bottom of their heart for the cuteness of the little boy and the girl playing with each other. It was a heart-warming scene.
The smell of the delicious roasted meat slowly started to spread around the area of that little boy playing.
Seeing her little brother getting distracted, she smiled “Little brother look here" she shouted. He turned around to see her big sister.
"Hah, Take it" The little girl suddenly took a stance pushing her small sword touching the heart of the little boy.
Then she started jumping around for her victory "Yay, I win! I win Little brother; you lost.”
But she stopped after seeing her little brother dozing off while standing.
"Little brother, what happened?" asked the little girl.
Suddenly in a loud voice, the little boy started to howl loudly "Arghhh...." he yelled by catching his head in pain.
"Little Brother. Little Brother, What happened?" the little girl was shocked to see her little brother howling in pain.
"Stacy, what happened?" the couple reached the girl and asked her.
Stacy replied, "I don't know mother, little brother suddenly started to cry in pain." After that, she explained what happened briefly.
"Stacy, Is this how you play with your little brother?" shouted the mother with worry and panic in her tone.
"I am sorry. I am sorry, Mother…. I", replied the little girl while sobbing.

"Teresa, don't blame her. Didn't you hear what happened? She touched his heart with the wooden sword, but he's crying catching his head, and there's no blood in his chest." said the handsome middle-age man.
"Stacy, I am sorry. Don't cry. Just tell me clearly, did he hit his head while playing?" asked her mother.
"No mother, nothing like that happened. He just dozed off for a second, and after that, he started howling in pain." replied the little girl.
"Teresa there is no time for talking. He's unconscious now. Let's take him to the Healers." the man said in a worried tone.
"Yes. Yes. Let's go quickly." replied Teresa.
They quickly reached a tall building in the center of the town, which was bustling with crowds.
The building total has a total of ten floors in which the top-level belongs to the Town Chief. The Fifth Floor of this town hall is dedicated to the town's healers.
Knowing the couple came to the healer's floor, the Town Chief rushed to welcome them. Because he knew the real background of the couples staying in this town.
Town Chief asked the couple, "Madam, what happened to Little Master?"
"I don't know? There is no time for talking, could you please call a healer quickly?" replied Teresa with a hurried tone.
"Yes, I will bring the head healer now." replied the Town Chief.
Within a minute, an old woman came in a pure white robe with the symbol of healer pinned below her left shoulder.
The old woman stared at the unconscious child for a second, before putting her finger between his eyebrows.
A thread of White Mist slowly spread from her finger to his forehead. Anyone would see her, would notice that she was the Head Healer in this town. Her reputation was quite spread across all the cities, even well-known across the capital. But, she settled in her hometown where she was born.

The White Mist seeped inside his head to find out the reason for his illness. Suddenly, like a speck of dust caught in a whirlpool, her White Spirit Qi started getting devoured in an endless void.
With a shock, she quickly retracted her fingers and stared at the boy, as she was looking at a monster.
She knew what would have happened if she waited for another second, with her Spirit Qi flowing. Her White Spirit Qi would've been entirely devoured, and she would’ve lost her healing power forever. Thinking about that cold sweat started to form around her forehead. She was feeling dizzy at the moment as most of her Spirit Qi has been devoured.
Looking at the Healer's condition, Edward Dream started to frown as he was thinking “What could make a healer fear and worn-out while checking out the condition of a one-year-old child?”
(Edward Dream was the name of the boy’s father)
Teresa couldn't keep her silence, "What happened Senior? What happened to my boy?" she asked.
Healer replied, "I don't know what happened to him, it looks like something is going on his mental space. It’s something, I've never experienced in my entire life."
"But, I can assure you there is no danger to his life." replied the old woman.
Only after this sentence, Teresa finally relaxed and a smile formed on the boy’s big sister's mouth.
"But when will he wake up?" asked Edward Dream.
After hearing her husband's question, Teresa started to worry again. And a look of worry appeared on Stacy's face.
"This, I cannot say. Maybe Minutes, Hours, or Years" replied the old woman.
After hearing the word "years," all 3 of them got stunned. Tears started to flow from Teresa's eyes. And Stacy also stared at her mother with teary eyes.
"Is there any other way to make him wake up?" asked Edward Dream. As his only son, he cannot let his son be held down in his generation, compared to his peers.
The Old woman looking at their worries "I always traveled to far places and gathered some knowledge, I only know that only experts at the Sovereign stage can cure him" she replied.
A Look of shock appeared on all those present there, except for the little girl. She was happy that they found a person to cure her little brother.
How many Sovereign stage expert does this empire have? They are rare as a phoenix feather.
"Husband can you?" asked Teresa with expectation. Only Edward Dream and the Town Chief understood her words.
"Teresa, you know what will happen if I asked him for help. We might not be able to see each other" Edward Dream replied with a grim face.
"It's not a life-endangering situation so you could wait for a week or two for him to wake up." said the old woman while not understanding their conversation.
"Yes, thank you for your hard work. Please accept our gift," said Edward Dream as he stuffed a pouch of Spirit stones in old woman's hand.
Looking at those Spirit stones, the old woman was stunned. Inside her mind, she was guessing the background of the couples, who could easily stuff Spirit stones without batting an eye. As she was mature for her age, she didn't ask anything, and she thanked for the gift and left.
"Town Chief, thank you for your hospitality. We will take our leave.” said the couple and took their leave with their children.
Meanwhile in Roger Dream's consciousness,

Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
