《From beyond The Veil》Chapter 2 - El Diablo

"These are the blairs. You're not allowed to fight, or eat these people. You will listen to them and learn about the human world properly. You know the rules about walking around. Break them and I'll behead you." Reaper ever so casually said.
We all stood in a line facing the family. There was a girl, a young boy and a mom. We were informed that the father passed a couple years ago. So we weren’t allowed to bring it up unless they wanted to talk about it.
I didn’t like the look in the one girl's eye. She was smiling at us like we were some super stars or something. Then there was the kid, he was reeking of fear. Usually I like the smell, but the kid smelled like he was made of it. I pinched my nose.
“The kid reeks.” I groaned.
Beast elbowed me and I growled.
The girl had thick rimmed dark red glasses. She had light caramel skin and short dark brown curly hair. She was wearing dark blue denim jeans and a black Metallica tank top . The boy had short brown fluffy hair. He was wearing shorts and a grey t-shirt with ‘Dark Souls’ on it. Whatever the hell that is. And the mom was pretty generic. Long curly brown hair and darker brown skin. She was wearing a dirty apron that hid most of her attire.
“Casper and Alister, you two are originally from the human world. So the king has decided to grant you two more freedoms to visit places or people as you like. But keep in mind, we were not trying to gain attention. Do too much and-”
“Alright, alright we get it. You’ll kill us. Can I go now?”
Reaper growled.
“Make sure you get some rest, we do have school in the morning.” Beast spoke up.
“Whatever Mom.”
“Me and you will also be rooming together in the basement.”
“I’m sorry we’re what!? That’s not happening!”
Suddenly I saw a blade appear in my face.
“Stop complaining and just move your stuff to the room.”
I growled and glanced over at Reaper.
“Whatever.” I grumbled as I turned around.
“I’ll show you to your rooms!” The girl spoke up.
I looked back and turned to see her jogging toward me. However her jog was a bit funny. Something was off with her right leg. I didn't care enough to figure it out. Not like humans hid monster legs.
As she got close to me I activated an illusion and turned to face her. My eyes were missing now as black blood poured from my sockets. My lips stitched together, with visible blood splattered on each stitch. Her eyes grew wide as I created a green snake to slowly move itself out of my eye socket.
"T-that's so cool!" She cheered as she stared intently into my face.
"Cool?" I asked in astonishment.

"Yeah! It reminds me of something out of a Stephan King movie!"
I blinked a few times in shock. A human wasn't scared by snakes? Guess she gets a point, plus she likes Stephan King. Let's see how she likes this though.
I morphed my smile to be ripped open up to my ears. I opened my mouth to let spiders crawl out profusely. While I sent a hand out from my throat. It reached out for her face while I sent the sound of a little boy crying for help next to her ear.
"Oh my gosh you must be like Pennywise!" She cheered.
"You're interesting." I muttered as I morphed back.
"I just watch a lot of horror. I was excited to hear I was gonna be able to meet you all."
I stared into her eyes for a moment. She blushed slightly and looked nervous, that's when I started searching her for her fears.
Suddenly I was smacked upside the back of my head.
"Ah! What the hell!" I roared.
Casper glared at me and slowly shook her head.
"No fear searching, pumpkin brain." She groaned.
I growled.
"I'm surprised anyone can look at you and not get scared. That's worse than anything I can make."
"What did you say, you little twerp!?" She yarped.
"What? Are you so dumb you can't tell when somome calls you ugly?"
I heard her growl and I smirked as I faced her. She raised her hand to strike and I raised my hand to snap. But suddenly I felt myself being binded and constricted. I looked up and I saw the carpet had wrapped around Casper and I. I looked down and I could see the flat end of the carpet open wide to show its rows of sharp thin teeth that reminded me of a piranha. It dared me to move.
"Enough you two." Beast groaned as he walked over to us. "I expect this from Allister, but Casper you know better than to start senseless fights. Especially in this house."
"B-bite me Eugene!" I barely grumbled out as the snake constricting grip only got tighter.
I smirked and moved my hand just enough to snap. One, two, three! I snapped the third time and we all could hear the carpet tear. The creature went limp and slowly slid off us both. It was leaking some bluish green liquid from it’s cut. Guess his crap really did come to life.
I chuckled. "Ha! Take that Eugene! I- AH!"
I felt something hard ram into my head. I groaned and looked up to see a very annoyed Reaper. Holding the back end of his scythe on my head.
"Just go get your crap." Reaper growled.
"Whatever." I grunted as I walked over the remains of the carpet snake.
"I apologize for that, I can replace it!" Beast panicked and I just snickered.

Beast walked over to the mother and I snapped my fingers three times. Causing his zipper to break and letting his pants fall to the floor.
"Ah! I'm so sorry!" He freaked as he grabbed his pants.
I snapped my fingers again and as he stepped back. He slipped on the carpet snake’s blood and fell onto a table in the hallway. Knocking over a vase and hitting his head. I could hear everyone yelling and running to his aid.
"That's the fate you get when you mess with Alister of the Pumpkin Patch." I called out to him.
Ah this was perfect. If he attacks me in a fit of rage he'll just piss off Reaper. And that'll make him feel terrible. And if he let's it go I'd have successfully punked him. He's gonna learn not to try me. Next step I'll blow up him and the house.
I stopped by the door and tipped my hat to him and the others. Everyone was looking mad. Except for the girl. She seemed more bewildered than anything else.
"Are you a diablo?" She asked softly.
I smirked and flared my eyes to her a bit.
"The devil shivers when he hears my nam- Ow!" I smacked my neck as I felt something sting me.
"Stupid human world and your mosquitos. Ruined my line..." I grumbled as I walked off to get my bags.
Our room was relatively big. We had a bunk bed set up in the left corner of the room, and a desk to the right. I didn't have much to take with me from home. Living in farmlands really made me cherish minimalist ideals. I set my bag on the bottom bunk and claimed it as mine. Then set my laptop on the desk, also claiming it as mine.
I wondered what the girl's fears were. Stupid Casper stopped me. Stupid Beast thought he could push me around. I looked to the top bunk. I needed to make him learn a lesson. I stood and looked around, trying to see how I was gonna torment him tonight. As I reached for the closet I felt my energy just drop. I stumbled a bit and tried to catch myself. But it felt like my legs were just fading away. I dropped to my knees and then fell flat onto my face.
"T-the hell?"
I heard footsteps coming in and I slowly propped myself up to look at the door. And it was Beast walking in. He had a very serious straight face on. He held out his hand and showed off three mosquito-like creatures who looked like they were made from pennies.
"I've sucked all your manna dry." I could see another carpet snake slither it's way around his body.
"You underestimate Allister of the Pumpkin Patch?" I chuckled. "That'll be your fatal mistake."
I focused and I could feel my energy slowly coming back into me. The pumpkin patch only gives me so much. I needed to savor it. I'll kill him with a real snake!
I pretended to still be fatigued. I summoned the snake into my sleeve and materialized it. He eyed me suspiciously and I could see his elf ears twitch. He seemed to notice the slithering in my arm.
His eyes grew wide and he sent the carpet snake after me. I could see a big smile appear on his face. I shot up and sent the huge boa at his throat! My snake and his own aiming straight for each other's neck.
Then something unexpected happened. The floor board shot up and smacked my snake away. Before I could even react I dropped, and below me were large wooden and jagged teeth. I didn't have enough energy to summon something. That's when the snake came in and constricted me again.
Then the mouth snapped shut on me. The jagged wooden teeth pierced through my body. I wanted to scream, it was hundreds of them inside me! It burned and stung! I bit my lip hard trying to not scream and give him the satisfaction.
I glared at him and then bam! A penny mosquito stabbed me in my eye. I couldn't even move to grab my eye. It burned! The penny mosquito squirmed around inside my eye sending wave after wave of pain through me as it drilled into my eye.
"AHHH!" I broke and wailed from the pain.
"I don't like doing this, but I will if I have to. You will remember that I am the leader." Beast said firmly as he walked over to me. "You wasted all your bad luck earlier. That was a rookie mistake. I'm impressed you summoned the snake though, I thought I sapped all your manna by now."
I forced myself to laugh, it made every part of me burn and made my pierced skin tear. But I laughed. I began coughing up my black blood, but I still faced him. I wasn't gonna lose! I summoned up as much energy as I could from the patch. Screw it! I'll get more later. I forced my hand up. Letting the wood rip and tear at my skin more like shredded meat.
"Screw you Eugene! I'll remind you who you should be afraid of!" The flares from my fire could be seen from the outside window.
I could see Beast’s face getting visibly shaken.
"What are you.."
"Calamity always falls in the devil's wake!" I roared as I went to fling my hand down and drop a bomb on this house!
Suddenly the teeth shot me up from the ground and crashed me into the ceiling like a rocket. As soon as my head slammed into the roof, it all went black.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!

Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. 8 276His Pet | Leatherface X OC (16+)
"Ohhhh, who's this again?" The creep asked. The one with the chainsaw shrugged quickly, looking to his right. I felt my heart jumping out of my stomach and my adrenaline pumping. "Bubba's got a girlfriend!" The creep bounced up and down, chanting that stupid shit. "P-please..." I begged. I looked into the killer's eyes. He looked.. embarrassed? He has emotion? Is that why he's not killing me? I saw him reach out to open the lock but his brother shoved him back, grabbing the lightweight chainsaw as he did. "Either sex... or the saw, Leatherface." His brother held up a chainsaw. I let out a small scream. "Le-leather... f-face?" I gasped, trying to somehow earn more sympathy. He looked at me and nervously fiddled with his tie. Please, dear God, please.... show emotion any emotion! -Warning-SwearingSexual content Sexual tension GoreKillingBloodBad humor;)
