《Zero Sanity》Test 4: Capture

"This warehouse is gigantic, there's no way we'd be caught here."
I thought, while running. The layout of the warehouse is like any other normal ones, but there was a whole roof covering the whole place below, and only the flag isn't covered by the roof, on the center. Basically like a big covered room, inside a big fucking warehouse. The man who created this didn't really want anyone completing the game, huh. Fuck him.
After the game started, the robots stayed in the center, while we all went down to avoid getting shot. We all went inside the room, and holy shit, there was a series of rooms in the left, while there are a large array of boxes stacked in the right. Thinking that they would probably hide in the boxes, they all went to the right while I went left. Hey, if we could cover more ground, then we could have more chances of winning, I thought to myself, while they all head right.
The rooms are like those you don't see in a warehouse. They lead to a cafeteria, which is in the middle, and, the offices, which is around the cafeteria. This place is huge, so I'm not surprised. I checked the cafeteria first, which is really dark, since there is only a light bulb, shining in the middle here, and the whole place is destroyed like it was ransacked by some group. Wait, no-, maybe its the FUCKING ROBOT! SHIT!
After realizing that, I quickly heard a metal can fall.
"Fuck, I guess this is it?"
I thought to myself, while slowly facing my back. Then-
"Oh, sorry for making noise."
"What the hell, Gab, you were here?"
"Well, yeah, I've been following you. All the other guys head right, and I went left, the same as you. I thought if we could cover more ground then the chances of us winning would go up."

How the hell did I not notice her?
"Anyway, let's get out of here, somebody went here and ransacked this place, and I bet its not one of us."
"Alright."
We quickly headed to an office room just in front of the cafeteria and hid.
"Crap, if you were following me, you could've let me know."
"Sorry.."
"Ok, now, you mentioned a plan earlier right?"
"Yeah, but its too risky."
"We're in a warehouse with 2 killer robots and we're the only ones here on this side. I'd follow any plans."
"Remember when the Masked man said that he programmed the robots to shoot anything that's moving?"
"Yeah, he did, why?"
"Well, what if no one moves, making it a distraction for us to get the flag?"
"Are you serious? I doubt anyone would do that, hell, that would be too risky."
"That's what I freaking said.."
"Ok, then why follow me? Wouldn't it be better if you said that to the 7 people on the other side?"
"Because, I kinda forgot it from being nervous."
Instead of getting angry, I understand her. There are 2 robots that wants to decapitate us, who wouldn't be nervous? So I just sighed, and the 2 of us left the room.
"Hey, I can tell my plan to the other people if we go back, I remembered how, you need to-"
"No, there's a big chance that the robot might be there."
"Why?"
"The cafeteria has been destroyed, and it's clearly not you who did it, so right now, we need to find the way that leads to the center, fast."
Then, we opened up as many rooms as possible, until we found a room that leads to another path.
Relieved, we opened the door. Huh, maybe this was easy after all.

That thought was immediately followed by "Shit, I should've known."
Beyond the office rooms were 2 moving conveyors. One leads to a lever, and the other one leads to a garage door. Hopeful, we thought that the door leads to the flag in the center, because the flag in the center was also in the center of 2 garage doors.
"Ok, stay here and if the garage door opens, run and get the flag, okay?"
"Okay."
I hurriedly sprinted to the conveyers to get the lever. Then the sound of the door opening caused me to stop. Was it Gab? Why the hell would she go out?
"HeehhaahaahhahaAHAHAHAHAAHHA"
Shit, SHIT, SHIT! WE WERE SO FUCKING CLOSE!
The number nine-faced robot opened the door, and looked at me while aiming a gun towards me. Luckily, it didn't see Gab because she hid inside a box. The conveyor was moving and it moved me towards the lever. The robot climbed up the conveyor and walked towards me. The robot pulled his face closer to mine while pointing a gun on my head.
"HeehhahahahaAHAHAHAHAHA"
I can't move.
I can't do anything, I'm going to fucking die.
Then I saw Gab, escaping from the room. The robot didn't care to notice her escaping the room, because he's fixated on ominously fucking laughing.
A faint sound of a metal can being thrown is heard somewhere outside the room and the robot, hearing that, shot the door. After 3 minutes of not moving, the robot left the room to check the sound.
D-did I live? D-did I survive? W-wait, did that whole not moving thing worked? Haahaa...
I almost went insane and my knees, weakening, made me tremble and fall to the moving conveyer, making me fall to the ground. Just remembering the robot's laugh made me shake. Haaa-haha, I-I can't move. Did Gab throw the can that made the sound? I guess she didn't abandon me, that's good.
Wait, this is the chance, I need to finish the game..
With every ounce of strength left in my legs, I stood up. I climbed the moving conveyer and walked towards the lever.
"I can do it, I'll survive!"
I thought, and pulled the lever. Hearing the sounds of a garage door opening, The sense of finally defeating this game fueled me and so I went down the conveyer after pulling the lever.
...
"Shit.."
I thought to myself, while seeing the garage door still.. closed.
Hahahaha, the garage door that opened wasn't here, it was the door from the other side..
The thought of this can make an ordinary person go insane, but not me. Guessing that Gab went to the other side, and also guessing that the robot is not going back here, I'm guessing that the both of them will go to the other side of the warehouse.
Or I could stay here, and wait for them to get the flag.
With 2 robots on one side, they won't survive long..
I left the room, still thinking of a plan, and I realized there's only one thing that I can do. The robot that left here is probably on this side yet, so I could distract it and lessen their chances of dying. Fuck, this might be risky, but I don't care anymore, there are 8 people on the other side, I know they can do this. Just do it faster, please.
I left the room and picked up the metal can that was thrown earlier. I threw the can close to the robot that was walking in front of the cafeteria. I hid in one of the office rooms, and all I could hear except from my heavy breathing was the robot, laughing.
"HahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Breakers
My name is Joo In-gong. The name that my parents gave me meant ‘protagonist’ of the world. As anyone can predict, I was constantly teased due to my name. In kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and high school. If I went to university as planned then I would probably be laughed at there as well. So, at one point, I really hated my name. But not anymore. Now, I think slightly differently. Maybe being named Joo In-gong was a type of foreshadowing?
8 636Jalan Suram : The 100 Fire Holders
"Why us?" Still staring at the unusually stationary fire of the candle he was holding, Agung voiced the questions in our mind. "Out of 2 million people living in this city, why are we the chosen ones?" As if on cue, the eerie laughter of children could be heard above us. Holding our own candle tightly, we resolved to ignore them and continued our discussion. It was a matter of life or death after all. More than half of the initial participants had fallen and the building became more crowded as the result. There were now more ghosts than the living and each step was filled with danger from the unknown. Either we solved all the questions now or we would become another addition to the ghost camp. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There was one thing Novita found out after she accepted an invitation to a suspicious event from a seemingly legal company. Crowded didn't exactly mean safe. As more and more variables were added to the dangerous ritual, the higher the risk of death. At the same time, the higher the risk was, the better the rewards for it. But in the end, was it worth it? Note : This series was posted on scribblehub.com under the same name. 8 98Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
