《Zero Sanity》Test: 1 - Prologue

"I'm bored..."
Sitting in the most anime cliche seat ever, I was desperately staring in the window to escape my worst enemy, boredom. Finally, the bell rang and I rushed home so I could finally experience the game I was dying to play. Nothing in particular happened in that day, well, not yet. I was rushing to my house, then I heard my phone ring. This is like a rare event for me, because I was the definition of a loner. In short, I have no actual friends to hang out with. Then I thought it was my mom, but it would be weird because my mom is still at work. I took out the phone...
I- I took out the phone and I...
I can't remember.
I woke up, only remembering the events of that day. The first thing that I thought was..
"Why am I here?"
Of course, the second one was..
"Where am I?"
The room was pitch dark, so dark that I couldn't even see the bed I think I've slept on. I immediately stood up and touched every single thing inside this "room" but the room was too big so I went to a corner and followed the walls to find a light switch, but there's none. Then..
"FUCK PLEASE LET ME OUT!"
I've bumped into something, well, someone in the wall I was following. I guess I'm not the only one here in this really fucking weird room. I'm not even creeped out by the sound because he sounds like he genuinely wants to get out. So I responded,
"Hey, hey-"
"PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"
"Dude, I won't, fuck, I don't even know why I'm here in the first place."
"Wait, you too?"
"What do you mean, "you too"?
"We're all stuck in here for whatever fucking reason, and we don't even know where we are, or how we don't have any memories leading up to being fucking stuck in this dark place."

"Same for me, I don't remember anything except that really boring day. Wait, What do you mean, 'We'?"
"Oh, you haven't met them? There are atleast 8 of us that were here, until you came."
"What? 8? How come I didn't bump into them? How big is this room anyway?"
"I don't know dude, We all woke up just close to each other and it seems like you're the only one who was really far away."
"Weird. Hey what's your-"
The pitch dark room was illuminated by lights and it showed a big monitor-like screen in the center of the wall. The room is like... my classroom? Questions flooded my head and before I could find any answers, the monitor turned on and showed a man in a mask. The mask was very detailed and it resembles the popular myth, Slender, but instead of having a blank face, the face was crumbled. Then it spoke-
"Seems that you all have questions, but don't worry it will be answered soon, maybe. I'll ask the questions first, what are your names?"
The guy earlier screamed-
"HEY WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU LOCKING US IN? GET US OUT OF HERE!"
On the other hand, the girl beside her spoke-
"My name is-
My name is... what?"
She was confused, and so was I.
I can't remember..
I can't remember anything except that uneventful day. It seems that all 9 of us can't remember our names as well.
"Oh yeah, I forgot, I erased all your memories except the ones leading up to, well, here. I won't tell you why you're here, and why you got here. I'll just tell you one thing,
How far can the mind be stable?
Wrap your heads around that, because you're here for one purpose. And that purpose will be expressed towards what I personally would call, the D-Games. You're here to work together and to win through every single game. As a somewhat compassionate being such as myself, I'll give you the privilege to know your names here in this book."

The floor below the monitor opened and a book came out. We all hurriedly rushed to the book to know our descriptions but the book only gave us our faces, and the names on the side of it.
"As I mentioned before, you will have to coordinate so instead of calling each other this or that, I thought I'll give you your names instead. And by the way, it's your real names. Each games you complete, a room will open as you cann see on your sides."
The lights lit up the rooms that weren't there earlier, and from what I've count, there were 9 rooms.
"Coordinating is one of the keys here and just a reminder-
Your brain is your greatest weapon, and your greatest enemy. Have fun!"
Someone on the side said-
"We're kidnapped here without our knowledge and he says have fun. What a piece of shit."
"HEY, GET US OUT OF HERE! YOU FUCK!"
The masked man didn't bother to answer and said-
"With all that said, my dear test subjects, I bid you all, adieu."
Thinking to myself, I said-
"Test subjects? Are we in a project or an experiment?"
Then the monitor closed and the guy earlier screamed-
"HEY, HEY COME BACK HERE, GET US OUT OF HERE!"
"He's not going to let us out, you retard. Why the hell would he release us if he's the one who kidnapped us in the first place."
"Yeah, and I suggest that we should follow him for the mean time. Well, starting with the names."
The guy spoke up first..
"My name is-"
The monitor turned on again, then the masked man spoke-
"Oh and by the way,
Welcome to Experiment: Zero Sanity
I hope you all survive! Not really!"
Then the monitor closed, leaving us with more questions. The girl earlier ran in a corner and started speaking to herself and said-
"Please help me, Please help me, Please help me-"
And she continued speaking like it was a chant until I ran up to her and asked what's wrong.
"This just feels so odd, something tells me we won't get out here alive."
"And why is that?"
"The experiment's name, Zero Sanit-"
Interrupted again by the monitor, showing a phrase that sent fear into all of us.

I shook, overthinking things. Well, I guess I should, because I'm in a fucking room with 9 people in a place that looks like my boring old classroom! To be fair, if I were given the chance to continue this or go back to my uneventful, boring life..
Well, I'd choose the latter.
Weirdly enough, from what I remembered, I was at an age of 17 and a high school student. Judging from what I've seen, these guys were also 17. While I, I feel like I'm at their 20s judging from my body. I can't be sure, I haven't seen myself in a mirror yet so why am I the only one? What if-"
Interrupted again, (man, these things are really good at timing). A speaker inside the room turned on as well, and heard the masked man's voice that said-
"Have a good night everyone! In the morning,
Experiment: Zero Sanity will now commence.
The questions in my mind have been erased and all I could think in my mind was-
"You've got to be fucking kidding me."

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
