Hello, dear future readers!

Welcome to the world of Karil and The Stone of Predestination. Before you start diving in, there are a few things that I have to clarify.

1. This story is a side-project. My main story still is The Beast and The Swallow. As such, this story does not have a regular update schedule. Which leads us to point 2.

2. The current story is separated into 3 parts. Book 1 is finished, Book 2 is almost finished and Book 3 is not written yet. Unlike "The Beast and The Swallow", I am writing the adventures of Karil and his friends in my native language and translating them into English, so the frequency of posting will depend on my translation speed. And as we are on the topic of translation...

3. Naturally I am much more fluent in my native language and my vocabulary is better. This, unfortunately, puts some hurdles on the way of translation, especially in cases where I use figures of speech or word-plays that could not be translated literally. As always, If you spot some funny-sounding expressions tell me and suggest the correct English phrasings.

4. It is important to mention that, compared to "The Beast and The Swallow" which is definitely PG18, the target demographics of The Stone of Predestination are 11/13 years and up. This also means that there are no sex, gore, or overly explicit violence (O.K. there is violence but not too graphic). Please keep the target demographics in mind when criticizing the complexity of the language used or the style of narration.

5. What can you expect from the story?

- a journey to adulthood

- master-student dynamics (no, not THAT kind of dynamics, we are strictly PG13!)

- action, adventure, and the occasional monster

- clear and intriguing magic system (although I wouldn't really call it magic)

- cool fighting scenes (hopefully...)

- diverse cast

- some (strange) humor

- a bit of romance (come on, my main work here on Royal Road is a romance, so what did you expect), but it is in no way the main focus of the work

- some art from your dear author

- a certain McGuffin

- heavy but 100% necessary flash-backs

- cookies

I hope that you will give this story a chance. It is not your typical children's book, that's for sure.
