- SYNOPSIS -

After 209 years, only 0.1% of what humanity once was still survives. Since after the first incident of SAE, all creatures on the planet started evolving rapidly, taking down human supremacy and making nature a warfare for the perfect species to be created.

Even so, people still build lives and fight, being for power, family, or to find the right path in a world where humans are forced to live in fortresses and never step in the forest outside the walls.

While with the change of rules, a new metal called Black Cutter together with the new form of power, the Vis, are fundamental for the future actions for humanity to prevail. Can our platoon of sixteen young soldiers of the Academy survive in this world where only who adapt faster thrives?

[SAE] stands for Super Accelerated Evolution, an unknown mutation that evolves any creature at an extremely accelerated rate, those creatures are colloquially named as SAE as well.

The main characteristics of SAE are: sudden extreme pain; physical change in biological mass; natural production of BC such as darker skin, reddish eyes, loss of melanin or color change in the hair; increased Vis affinity; and other attributes such as changes in mental health or natural needs.

[Fortresses] were built as a form to protect humanity against SAE's new world, having its borders marked by large great walls. They were developed in such a way so it's possible to be self-sustainable and able to expand its borders. Only the Military has access to protect and to go outside, needing to have special training and permission for such jobs.

The last humanity's hope, as well as being its sorrow, to keep surviving inside the safety of its society.

[Vis] is a mysterious force that hypothetically can manipulate every aspect of our reality, according to rumors. The main things Vis is used for are: adding vectorial force, allowing to decrease weight or add speed; increase impact or pressure resistance; and change temperature.

In great quantities and being refined by BC circuits, it has the appearance of thin translucent blue stripes. In its natural form, it is more erratic and random, depending on the wearer's intent and usage.

[Black Cutter], or BC for short, is a rare black metal, having a density of over 110g/cm³, being five times higher than osmium, the second heaviest metal on Earth. It's harder than diamond, extremely resistant to impacts and pressure, can cut on an atomic level easily, and can be mold and make alloys. This material is often used in BC circuits to manage and refine Vis, and to create weapons to cut SAE, which also has BC in its skin and biological system.

Even so it can be seen as a divine material, it isn't as strong as being a SAE itself, and because of its heaviness, it's impractical to use it on large densities or to combine with low resistance materials such as low-quality wood or lesser metals.

CHARACTER PANELS

The characters' images were generated by a program based on Gwern AI (I think they were at least) then I drew and edited over so it could look polished and without strange amoebas on their hairs. They weren't 100% for what I imagined for my characters initially, some not even near it, but now I'm using their pictures as reference.

And this isn't a LitRPG story, the stats in their panels are an RPG system I created for stability purposes only, so I can check what each character strong points are and what they can actually handle and do. It was going to be exclusive as a backstage tool, but their panels had space into it so I placed them there.

I'm not going to explain the stats system in details, both because they aren't that important and because you guys might be able to predict somethings in the plot just by looking into numbers, like who would win a fight against who, so I'm keeping it as secret, for now at least. (I'm planning to launch a separate "Book" here on RR explaining how a better version of it works, aiming at an actual doable Tabletop RPG's system)
